The place was clean and had good amenities for the price. It was a decent basic room - I just needed a place to sleep for me and my dogs. They are dog friendly but pets do incite a charge - something I missed because it was buried so deep on the site. I usually stay at Motel6 because they are dog friendly and no extra cost for dogs. I have three and do lots of solo traveling so I have to take my pups as I don’t have anybody to watch them at home or on the road. Per dog charges can really increase the bill - so the hotels.con site should as not just how many adults & children but how many dogs - so it can tell you the charges for dogs or no charge instead of it being buried on the website. I have a ton of critiques for the hotel.com website ( I did web design, programming, information architecture, etc for 15 years) but this isn’t about the hotels.com website. My only critique of the place I stayed at is they do have a dog area but it was locked up.

If you are able to look past the upleasant view from your window and the surrounding areas then you'll be happy. Our stay was comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff is very present so that is reassuring. For those who have trucks just beware that parking is very tight. Overall, our short stay went well.

Check in was easy. The hotel was in a good location, convenient to a lot of businesses. The room was clean but didn’t feel secure. The front door did not have any internal locking mechanisms such as a door bolt. The bathroom window was small but didn’t lock. There was a large gap under the door that any creepy crawler could have walked under. Finally, we could not locate an ice machine.

There is pubic hair all over the bathroom and the sheets are stains with what it looks like pee. I counted over 20 pieces of hair all over the bedding and even saw a dead bug. The manager in charge is extremely disrespectful and dismissive. He will yell at you if you ask for reimbursement for not choosing to stay in a unkept room. Between them not washing the sheet and strands of black curly hairs everywhere. There was also white crumbs all over the remote control for the tv. If I could give this review NO STARS I would. There is no way this meets health standards for guest!! This room is extremely unhigienic and should be reported! Do not stay there!!!

Very clean and quiet place for a good value. I liked how they provided unique amenities like earplugs and makeup remover wipes. I wish they included lotion as my skin gets really dry, but it's not a big deal. I would stay here again!

Very thin walls and ceiling I can hear the people walking around upstairs as if they were in my room. The bed springs and the bed not too comfortable in the springs were very noisy as if they were rusty or something every time you move around you hear big clunk… also they did not have a smart TV. Only DIRECTV channels cannot watch your Netflix or Amazon.

Air conditioner too loud, they had packages of ear plugs but manager did not comment on it upon check in. Coffee maker left dirty and left a single coffee bag for the 2 night stay. Definitely would not stay there again or recommend it.

The staff manager/owner was really rude and made the stay experience uncomfortable. I will not stay here and will not recommend this place to anyone. He is the type of person who spies on you when you are taking your luggage to the room. We checked in at 3:PM and once we were in the room my kids were playing and this man, assuming he is the owner or manager ran up to me and said my kids were too noisy and to tell them to be quiet because they were scaring the guest who were checking in. Mind you, my kids are toddlers ages 1 and 2 years old, were just exited. I politely asked him if I can switch rooms to downstairs and he rudely said no and demanded that I take my kids to the beach, pointing with his hand. We left to the beach and came back late night and my check-in card did not work. I had to go down stairs to let the office staff know. The young kid who attended me was nice and apologized for the inconvenience. We were all tired and just wanted to shower and go to sleep.

Upon arrival, the the manager made it difficult to check in, rudely demanded my service animal’s registration, $100 cash for incidentals, and on top of that, the shower and phone in the room were not even working. Therefore, I had to walk to the office, wait for the manager to wake up so get me shower fixed. First, he confirmed that the phones don’t work, next he told ME to fix my shower myself. (Where maintenance?!)Then, he asked me to get out of my room he can try. He made me move to the other side of the street while doing so because he seemed terrified of my very friendly service animal. He fixed my shower and when trying to thank him, he literally just walked away and said nothing. As someone who works in this industry, I was shocked at how someone who lacks basic customer service and hospitality skills could a run a hotel. Will never be back again and would NOT recommend to anyone.

Our situation had changed and we weren't able to check in until after 1am. The owner/manager was very accommodating & happily checked us in at that late hour. You won't find a better (basic) motel in this area for the price.

The male working the front desk was very very nosey. He assumed I was lying about who was staying with me. I made it very clear to him it was 2 adults and 2 kids and he charged me for the kids. I was traveling with other family who were not staying there or with me and he kept asking them questions and literally following them around the premises to see where they were going and when they were leaving. They made it clear to him two or three times that they were picking something up from me. Overall that was extremely uncomfortable! And he promised a refund for charging me extra for my kids. And I have yet to get that. I would not recommend this place.

I love how it’s so close to the Amtrak station and the Oceano Dunes state beach. I also love how close it’s to bus #21 to Pismo Beach! I don’t like the road closures in both directions on West Grand Street due to construction. The bus does not stop on West Grand and north 6th Street due to street closure in both directions.

I didn’t even stay. I wish I could have half of what I paid back. The staff was good. But the rooms are not anything as seen or as described on Expedia. It looks like a ran down motel 6. Broken appliances. The bathrooms and rooms look like lived in hotel rooms where people have stayed for a very long time and then someone comes and cleans them. It’s gross, I just used the room to change and went out for 4 hrs came back and checked out. The area is so sketch too. I would have paid more to stay somewhere cleaner and safer.

I really liked how convenient it was to the beach and the nearby area was really nice as well. It was quiet and very adequate, I would come back and stay here again, the front desk person was very nice and helpful (:

Hotel very close to beach to drive on if you like. If you get dirty there’s a coin op car wash 2-3 blocks from the hotel room for easy clean up. Good food right around here also.

Lots of noise. Pickup trucks coming and going. A couple of 20 year olds loitering outside in the parking lot. Police cars came on 5th street to talk to a guy with their lights flashing. Just not a place I would stay at again. This is my second visit. Not good.

The TV was wonky. The refrigerator was off, which I was not aware of. Usually, if a motel turns the fridge off, they open the door.

Good: Room was clean and cheap, new shower, decent WiFi. Bad: loose toilet, empty shampoo and body wash dispensers in the shower, only one coffee pack, no housekeeping, and a set of earplugs supplied next to the tv remote apparently due to the walls being thin enough I could hear The Office theme playing next door.

We liked that it was dog friendly. The air conditioning was very cold, which was nice. It was quiet for a Saturday night. It could use a little bit of refurbishment, but not terrible. It was relatively clean. There were just some weird smudges on the wall. The room was also quite small. It was disappointing that the refrigerator was unplugged and not cold so we were unable to use it and our leftover food went bad.
