Homewood Columbia Laurel

They have a very nice patio area for sitting out and getting fresh air, as well is smoker friendly. Something increasingly hard to find here in the states. I enjoyed a few nice cigars out there. The staff is only average. When I checked in the woman working the desk pretty much gave me my key with no additional instructions whatsoever. Not even "the elevators are to your left." And there is no elevator sign. So check-in needs to be a little friendlier. Property wise, they need to fix key card entry on the back and side doors. It's annoying when you use your keycard only to have nothing happen. Now you have to walk around. Lastly, they have outlets in the patio area, but they do not work. In the day and age of electronics, have some power in your sitting areas. The room was excellent. I can't stress that enough. The area is excellent. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel clearly has cash flow and cost cutting issues. There was a recent remodel -- the carpet, wall paper, etc was in decent shape and was modern. But it must have gone over budget. The sheets on the bed were old, shrunken, and fit poorly -- one corner of the fitted sheet kept coming up. The one (!) luggage trolley was positively dilapidated. But these are minor issues, overall. The continental breakfast was delightful with more variety than I expected and the staff was cheerful and hard working. Overall, the stay was really pleasant - the quiet atmosphere and convenient location were just what I wanted.

The rooms here are very clean, spacious & modernized! I've stayed at many Homewood locations & the hotel is always on point. Breakfast was mediocre, not everyone eats pork sausages & there wasn't another option. The biggest disappointment was the closed pool. Although the hotel says it was listed on their website for months it was not listed on hotels.com. We were in town for a Softball tournament & hoped to use the pool for the team to wind down after the games. The hotel didn't offer any options when I voiced my opinion, they said they would look into it but never said anything else before we checked out. I referred several parents to the hotel based off of my previous experiences with customer service, cleanliness etc... It was disappointing the lack of response. Basically its on our main site we have no control over if 3rd party sites have our amenities updated. Lesson learned, check with the actual hotel before booking!

A very convenient stay for us while visiting Columbia MD merriweather pavilion. Beware, Every year in May we stay here. Every year the pool is being worked on or not available. * I still can’t understand why they serve pulled pork for a breakfast item and chicken sausage. The breakfast Belgian waffles are the only item that was appealing to us with the fresh fruit.

Blood stain on sheet, not enough staff to accommodate needs, no number sign for room door, broken tiles in elevator, no AC in lobby, outside doors in the back out of order and hot breakfast not edible. Wont stay again.

pool was closed. Specifically went with 3 kids overnight for the pool. Very disappointed

Rooms are clean. Area is walkable for some food. The Mexican restaurant across the street is very good. The hotel breakfast was really good. The hotel needs some maintenance: our toilet continued to run after flushing it unless you jiggled the handle. Asked for some ice and were informed that the hotel does not have ice machines. Rooms are not cleaned every day.

We have family in the area so selecting this hotel was one of convenience and consideration for future visits. Three things were a great disappointment. Work out room--only 1 piece of equipment out of 7 actually worked. Pool--this hotel was specifically booked because of the indoor pool but no indication prior to arrival indicated that the pool was closed. Breakfast area--the waffel iron did not work. If these problems are addressed, this hotel may be considered for future visits.

Property needs a little work. Hot water went out for the entire property our first night there and wasn’t fixed until about 1pm the next day. Elevator was missing 2 tiles which was a trip hazard, back door and a couple washers were out of order. I think the new GM will get everything working, he seems like a go getter but is having to fix a lot of issues to make it great. It wasn’t all bad though but we got a refund and went to another hotel due to the hot water issues.

I select hotels, especially in big cities, based on free parking, free breakfast, indoor pool, comfort and price. The breakfast was good. Nice room. Lots of out-of-order signs. Indoor pool, in room dishwasher, several exterior key entrance doors, laundry machine, etc. Lots of broken tiles in the elevators. Staff was nice but must be short-staffed as we had to wait 15 minutes to checkin after front desk person was carrying lightbulbs. Bed linens were strange as I thought I was sleeping under a thin mattress pad instead of a comforter, but that was the norm with my co-workers room as well. His “comforter” had a stain.Good to have hotel near my conference. Kitchenettes were not stocked evenly as I had to share utensils with me co-worker since his room was lacking forks and knives. I would stay again but worry if amount of maintenance issues, including a very green pool and littered parking lot, will be mounting to point of discomfort. Hotels should update websites and guests before or at arrival of closed pools.

Not very clean to begin with. Cleaning service skipped a day of my 3 day stay.

Our hotel room was ……. Well, in need of a good clean. It was nice having a pseudo kitchen but everything needed to be wiped and washed beforehand. The bathroom and kitchen floors, walls, and vents were pretty grungy. That being said, the area was super safe and the breakfast was pretty good. A big, huge thank you to the woman that handled the breakfast buffet - she was great!!!

This used to be my favorite place to stay when I would come to Maryland, however, it has gotten to be very run down. The air conditioner in the bedroom needed a thorough cleaning or should have been replaced because it had a bad musty smell to it. The only reason I didn't ask for a room change is because I didn't want to take a chance on getting a room that was even worse. The tv in the outer area was not working, although I did call about this, and they replaced it. When I opened the sofa bed it still had a fitted sheet on it from the previous guest and I found hair on it, so I had to ask for clean sheets. Also, my room was never cleaned during my 2 night stay. No fresh towels, no re-ups on any supplies. I was very disappointed, and I won’t be back.

Not clean bed, not enough to breakfast (no coffee,no bread, no fruit today AM 7~8, 9/14/2025)

There was a roach crawling on the wall that I had to kill with my shoe. The silverware drawer was missing part of the bottom so if you dropped a knife if your foot was under it you could get cut. The dining table has seen better days.

Rooms and public areas were clean and well kept. There was 1 staff meme we managing the breakfast area and though she did her best, it was obvious she needed help to replenish food and supplies. She was extremely responsive to our requests for mistiming items

Great location. Multiple dining options across the street. Room was huge. Entire facility was spotless, but did see a small roach which I reported to the very responsive management. Nice variety of breakfast options. Disappointed that pool was closed. Fridge door handle was broken.

I didn't like that there was no daily housekeeping. It made our stay very inconvenient and unpleasant.

I'm typically pretty easy to please, but my stay at this Homewood Suites was subpar for this hotel chain. For this trip, I was looking for a hotel with 3 things - close distance to my family reunion, good breakfast, and an indoor pool. Based on the pictures and stars and my previous stays at Homewood Suites, I selected this property. I wanted a nicer stay than some of the competitors in the area with breakfast and indoor pools. Ha! At check-in, I was informed that the pool was closed for maintenance. I asked when would the maintenance occur and the staff didn't know. Then when we got to our room, I was pleasantly surprised to have a smart TV with YouTube and Netflix and Chromecast, or so I thought. Though the remote and the screen itself stated that these features were present, I couldn't get it to work after trying for several minutes. I called the front desk and was told that the TVs are not connected to the Internet so none of that would work and that you could just watch regular cable, according to maintenance, who is apparently always the bad guy. I don't understand how you can have smart TVs with screens that lie to you? The final issue was the next morning at breakfast. The spread was subpar and they ran out of coffee. It was crowded, but management knows how many guests are there. Why didn't you make enough coffee? But my room was clean and it was quiet, so I'm giving 3 stars. It might be awhile before I trust a Homewood Suites again...

The staff and room cleanliness were very nice. Uncomfy pillows and bed, unfortunately.

Property was dated and rooms did not feel clean. Carpets and couches fraying and some pieces of furniture were broken. Rooms were very noisy - you can hear movement and conversations next door. They seem to be extremely understaffed, but the staff that we interacted with were kind and very helpful.

We stay here often as it's very convenient for us. No issues, except next time we will ask to be put away from the basketball courts. Kids were having fun but a bit noisy for us.

Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Bed was comfortable. Not a fan of Feather Pillows and the "foam" ones were not so great.

Room was nice, though the climate controls were tricky to figure out. The bedroom was very comfortable. The living area and halls were a little stuffy.

The condition of the sleeper sofa and the desk chair was worn and broken, respectively. The bathroom were reasonably clean but could have been better. Otherwise, we were satisfied.

Only problem I had was controlling the heat. At times it was too hot.

Homewood Columbia was clean and very comfortable. At night it was quiet and easy to fall asleep. The room darkening curtains made sleeping in easy. One slight hiccup was the internet access password and subsequently a access code had to be given after multiple calls to the front desk before internet access could be achieved.

Late check in, had two rooms reserved. Both were dirty with hair in kitchen and bathroom, one room had trash on the floor, other room’s AC didn’t work well. It was a 1:00 am at check in due to flight delays and we had a six-year old with us, and didn’t want to deal with it. The next morning, at 1030 am, one room had no hot water after running it for 40 min. The other room we had was one floor up directly above the first room and had hot water. Called front desk and was told someone would be at the room to check on the water situation right away. Waited 40 minutes and no one showed. At that time, had to check out. At checkout, I left a message requesting a mgr call me regarding the water situation with no response. Called and left messages the following three days with no return call. Horrible customer service, dirty rooms and one without hot water (never even reached room temperature) with no response - really? Please go somewhere else where the rate you are paying and experience at the hotel will be valued. Still no response from hotel.

We arrived at 430 for a concert. Room wasn’t even ready til 530. Electric out in room stopped working for my white noise machine. Pool apparently was out of service. Some problem with coffee and milk for breakfast… etc. etc. outrageous for $215!

I went to the front desk to request that my room be cleaned two days in a row and had no response for a week. I sent a message via the app and finally, my room was serviced. I'm not sure if it was a lack of staff or just poor communication, but for a week to go by without a response is just poor service.

My stay wasn’t the greatest. The swimming pool was closed down. Had issues with our tv not working called the front desk they would not answer. Had to go down from the 6th floor to ask the front desk person for help with the tv not working. She did not know how to help and said someone would be up shortly to fix it. No one showed up to fox the tv therefore only had one station to watch. At checkout the attendant was notified of all these issues and said she would talk to her manager to give me a discount and get in touch with me within the next day. No one yet has to contact me to issue my discount. At that was since last Friday! Very disappointed in their customer service.

Would totally give this place a 5star except for two things: one of the night clerks was really rude and condescending. The other, our room AC did not go below 66 (we like our room COLD in order to sleep) but the sitting area room went all the way down to 60. Other than those two issues, we had a great stay. Breakfast was great every morning. Something for everyone. And the rest of the front end staff was curteous and helpful. The location is perfect for families - quiet. And located right across the street from a small strip of restaurants! I would def stay here again. One of the managers, Antonio McDougald was a really great help when we couldnt get our originally reaerved suite because of a flooding in the room above - he was able to find accommodations that fit our needs. Not to mention he was VERY patient with me when I was very demanding. We appreciate him very much! Great place to stay with your family.

Check in was smooth,and was given water and an extra blanket for the twins without being asked had a great time and great service this is my 7th visit to this property!

My husband and I have stayed at the Homewood Suites, Laurel, MD, several times and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are always welcoming, attentive, responsive and kind. We plan to stay at Homewood Suites in Laurel, MD. again on our next trip.

Hotel was comfortable. Desk staff at check-in, less friendly. Seemed upset that I booked our stay through Hotels.com instead of directly through Hilton. Problem with credit card used by Hotels, needed to call company. Did not reassure me about my stay, did not tell me the problem until after he called company. Just left me standing there waiting. No room cleaning (fresh towels, make beds, remove trash) unless you had been there for 4 nights. If you needed/wanted clean towels you could pick them up at the front desk. Breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed. Could not keep warmers filled. No time to clean tables between guests. Hotel staff got to have breakfast 10 minutes before breakfast time was over even though food items needed attention. No waffle batter last 30 minutes of breakfast, had to wait for trays to get filled (eggs/potatoes/sausage). However, 1 minute before breakfast was to end, staff started taking food away immediately and removing everything but coffee & condiments.

The manager on staff was great, and all of the employees were nice and helpful! I will definitely stay here again!

Slow check-in, bed not made properly (um, the mattress cover does NOT go on top of the top sheet…). Stayed 3 nights and housekeeping never came, even after we stopped at the desk and asked for it. Breakfast looked so bad we skipped it. Would not stay here again.

Sadly, the pool was closed for renovation / repair, but otherwise our stay was great! Staff was fast, friendly, professional, and helpful. Hotel and surrounding area was clean and felt very safe. Lots of things to do close by, and parking was a breeze.

We enjoyed our overnight stay while in town for a concert at Merriweather. Travel from hotel to concert venue was quick and relatively seamless. The hotel breakfast included with our stay was adequate to get our day started, although the coffee was not the best. Our bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were not very fluffy. In all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area. The neighborhood seemed safe and it was quiet at night.

Amazing array of restaurant options across the street. Bed was the most comfortable we've slept on in a long time!

Pluses : breakfasts, staff , gym and room size . Negatives : location away from everything , room views.

Good location off the freeway for a layover before entering the congestion areas of DC Northern VA metro

For our visits to Fulton, Columbia, and Maple Lawn, we typically stay here. It's safe, quiet, and comfortable, and a good rate.

A good hotel with convenient access to the Merriweather Post Pavillion - which is why we chose this location. Good service. Comfortable & spacious suits. Decent breakfast with plenty of choices. We will definitely return here for our next concert!

A great value for very comfortable suite in a clean, quiet hotel with a very nice breakfast buffet to start your day -- exactly what I was hoping for! I plan to stay there again in the future.

Very clean. Nice suite, could work while bro slept. 1 coffee mug in a room for 2, up to 4 ain't good. Overall great, though brief stay. Breakfast was great.
