The room was compact, clean, had a small TV & coffee making facilities, there is a lounge area & kitchen on the same floor that we were on, although we didn’t use it I can see that would be useful, but beware if your not too mobile, there are a lot of steep stairs, also pub below is open till 12 and we did encounter a lot of noise on Sunday night, so if you’re to bed early, be warned. Bed was comfy and has a nice big shower in bathroom.

Brilliant little place in the centre of Holmfirth. Quirky lay out but once you've got there you'll be fine. No car parking so you need to use public car parks (free overnight - but on the clock at 8am again)

nice comfortable rooms in centre of holmfirth. Across from Picturedrome, round corner from Sids cafe. The Nook pub and Taphouse below and also pub next door. Plenty of bars and restaurants too.

Really friendly staff at the Tap House. We were shown to our room and were shown where the breakfast room, lounge and kitchen we. We also ate at the Tap House in the evening.

The whole town is very compressed and tight for space. Part of the charm. The rooms at the Nook may not suit some people in terms of access as there are stairs to some of the rooms. Also quite noisy as very near a couple of pubs but if you accept this as part of the surroundings then its great. Room was good, bar and restaurant down stairs with excellent service in the evening and at breakfast. Would go again.

My room was excellent. Clean, characterful with oak beams yet modern. Breakfast was excellent. The pub downstairs is a bit rough as an introduction to the rooms but no issues and no noise (but I was three stories up above the stream!).

The room was very clean and comfortable. The added bonus of the use of a kitchen and a lounge is useful too. Having access to the Nook Pub was an added bonus and we would definitely recommend their homemade pizzas and all the beers 🍻 were very tasty. We’ll definitely stay here again as it’s got the perfect location if you’re visiting the Picturedrome to see a band.

Really friendly staff in a location tucked away from the Main Street making it more quiet than if it was on the main road. The room was big, clean and comfortable, a little warm for us personally but the windows open so it was spot on

I booked a stay at The Nook in Holmfirth between October 31st and 2nd November for my wife and her stepdaughter, who were on a pottery course. Unfortunately, the hotel was horrendous: 1) The business promises daily housekeeping, but the dirty cups were still in the room in the evening of the 1st, the bins hadn't been emptied, the beds weren't made, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. 2) There was noise until 1.00 am with a load of drunken people shouting and swearing beneath the window. 3) On the final day there was no breakfast available at 8.30 despite the fact that notices said that 8.00 was the start time. Apparently the chef was coming in at 9.00 because that's when the rest of the guests were eating, so my family had to find somewhere to eat as the course started shortly after. 4) Someone was able to enter the landing on which the family's room was situated and stood outside their door something like 5 times. The landing was supposed to be locked and there were only two rooms on it, so they definitely weren't looking for their own room. The two ladies were truly alarmed by this and the episode only stopped when my wife shouted to them to 'GO AWAY'. Terrible place. Avoid like the plague.

The hotel did not have the booking when we arrived even though it was all paid for. We were given an attic bedroom, very small, no escape exit in a fire. Could stand up straight near the bed. So many steps to climb, no indication not good for people with walking difficulties. Very expensive for room size, outside very dirty and not well presented. A real shame.

Rooms are pleasant enough but quite dusty. Mattress was absolutely terrible - like laying on concrete & only 1 pillow provided. Breakfast was good though. Sash windows on upper floors open fully - definitely not suitable for children.

Booking in was easy via The Tap room, staff friendly and helpful and showed us to our room which was really helpful. Room was clean, tidy and compact. Double bed was comfy enough but never easy when you are used to a king size but that's us, not the hotel. We stayed in one of the attic rooms which does have partial low ceiling when you get into bed but wasn't an issue. Full breakfast was very good. Just be aware that the nearby night club can be heard until the early hours of the morning if you are a light sleeper.

Really pleased with the accommodation would have been excellent for everything but was kept awake by people talking and shouting outside. Didn’t go to bed while 12 and they were at it after that so didn’t get a good sleep. Must say it hasn’t put us off as next time we go to picturedome will definitely be booking here as there is nothing to fault with the place and staff.

Lovely place. Simple and comfortable. Slow service at breakfast but food was ok. Not enough tea and coffee or choice of dishes. Were very good at catering for allergies. Room was basic but enough. Shower was ok. Bed was comfy. Disappointed at no spare pillows and the room was uncomfortably hot, even when the radiators were turned off. We were in the top attic room. Really liked it though. Wasn't noisy. Tucked away down a back street and above some decent pubs. Acceptable levels of noise from the street. Food was nice in the tap room plenty of choice and well priced although the dishes we had were all overcooked / burnt. Would stay there again. Helpful friendly staff. Very convenient location.

The team and the place was lovely but we didn’t have enough hot water for a shower in the morning and the live music and general music was going on into early hours. Even ear plugs didn’t block the noise out so we didn’t get a good nights sleep. I was surprised that we were given the room! Breakfast was lovely.

The Nook was in the middle of the town so convenient for all Holmfirth has to offer. The room was small but clean and comfortable. On the night we stayed there was a DJ playing very loud music in the yard until about midnight. When that stopped there was a still music playing from other venues round about. I guess this the price you pay for staying in the town centre on a Saturday night. My main criticism would be the price of the room (£119 without breakfast) in relation to the facilities. I had to ask for a hairdryer, TV was not visible from the bed due to a large beam, no chair, broken lamp & only 1 pillow each.

Pricey, but really convenient location, a comfortable bed, great shower in our ensuite bathroom and decent breakfast. Staff really welcoming too. Enjoyed our brief (one night) stay.

Guests checking in the earliest get first dibs on staggered breakfast slots so you might end up having to eat much later than is convenient to you as a guest. The breakfast itself is fine but served on strangely oversized plates that makes them look smaller than they really are. Single communal jug of milk kept in a tabletop fridge serves for both cereal and tea/coffee use so you need to keep going back to replenish when you top up your small cup.

Lovely place. Simple and comfortable. Slow service at breakfast but food was ok. Not enough tea and coffee or choice of dishes. Were very good at catering for allergies. Room was basic but enough. Shower was ok. Bed was comfy. Disappointed at no spare pillows and the room was uncomfortably hot, even when the radiators were turned off. We were in the top attic room. Really liked it though. Wasn't noisy. Tucked away down a back street and above some decent pubs. Acceptable levels of noise from the street. Food was nice in the tap room plenty of choice and well priced although the dishes we had were all overcooked / burnt. Would stay there again. Helpful friendly staff. Very convenient location.

Brilliant little place in the centre of Holmfirth. Quirky lay out but once you've got there you'll be fine. No car parking so you need to use public car parks (free overnight - but on the clock at 8am again)

Ideally located in Holmfirth, pubs and Picturedrome right on your doorstep.The room was big, bright and very clean plus it serves a cracking breakfast in the morning. Massive thumbs up from me.

Really pleased with the accommodation would have been excellent for everything but was kept awake by people talking and shouting outside. Didn’t go to bed while 12 and they were at it after that so didn’t get a good sleep. Must say it hasn’t put us off as next time we go to picturedome will definitely be booking here as there is nothing to fault with the place and staff.

nice comfortable rooms in centre of holmfirth. Across from Picturedrome, round corner from Sids cafe. The Nook pub and Taphouse below and also pub next door. Plenty of bars and restaurants too.

The whole town is very compressed and tight for space. Part of the charm. The rooms at the Nook may not suit some people in terms of access as there are stairs to some of the rooms. Also quite noisy as very near a couple of pubs but if you accept this as part of the surroundings then its great. Room was good, bar and restaurant down stairs with excellent service in the evening and at breakfast. Would go again.

Noise from the air vent/fan on other building outside and noise from the bars was very disturbing. I obviously expected some noise from music but could have been played quieter & not beyond 11pm. Room was really expensive considering the size and the facilities. Vegetarian breakfast was good though.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The added bonus of the use of a kitchen and a lounge is useful too. Having access to the Nook Pub was an added bonus and we would definitely recommend their homemade pizzas and all the beers 🍻 were very tasty. We’ll definitely stay here again as it’s got the perfect location if you’re visiting the Picturedrome to see a band.

The Nook was in the middle of the town so convenient for all Holmfirth has to offer. The room was small but clean and comfortable. On the night we stayed there was a DJ playing very loud music in the yard until about midnight. When that stopped there was a still music playing from other venues round about. I guess this the price you pay for staying in the town centre on a Saturday night. My main criticism would be the price of the room (£119 without breakfast) in relation to the facilities. I had to ask for a hairdryer, TV was not visible from the bed due to a large beam, no chair, broken lamp & only 1 pillow each.

Pricey, but really convenient location, a comfortable bed, great shower in our ensuite bathroom and decent breakfast. Staff really welcoming too. Enjoyed our brief (one night) stay.

Lovely place, right in the centre of Holmfirth and across from the picturedome where we went to see a gig. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend.

My room was excellent. Clean, characterful with oak beams yet modern. Breakfast was excellent. The pub downstairs is a bit rough as an introduction to the rooms but no issues and no noise (but I was three stories up above the stream!).

When visiting Holmfirth, this is my favourite place to stay and it never disappoints. The rooms are lovely and so convenient being right in the centre. Born and bred here, this is now my go-to place to stay for my annual school reunions. Recommended.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok. However, the downside was our room was above the outdoor seating area to the rear of the property. When we returned on the night at 11.30, the noise coming from there was as though we were quite literally sat with the groups below us. We appreciate that England had just played and people would have been enjoying the moment. The noise continued until roughly 2am though making sleeping impossible until all the people had left.

A quirky place, ideally situated for us going to the Picturedrome, room was very clean and comfortable the breakfast was very good, the staff we're friendly and helpful, I liked the Tap good selection of beers and food.
