Booked online at short notice. I was happy with my stay-I’d certainly do it again. Whilst no oil painting from the outside, inside is a different kettle of fish. Reception was speedily done, and welcoming. Room sparsely but practically furnished with everything fully functional. Very generous supply of tea/coffee. Bathroom and towels very acceptable, as was the nice touch of Scottish Soap consumables. The bed linen and duvet were immaculate and the bed itself very well suited to sleep, not springy or saggy. Bar was cosy and lively. The restaurant was serene/calm…very nicely laid out with pristine table cloths and table lamps of a decently small but well lit size. You could date a date here, or your wife, or either. The waiting staff.. absolutely lovely.. (thanks T). I ordered a steak which came exactly as ordered with very nice home made chips. Felt the meal and wine was very acceptable indeed. For a cost effective business stay, without frills and tassels, but with good food and bed, it sure as hell gets my recommendation.

Having stayed at the Oyster Fleet Hotel on quite a few occasions now. I was pleased to be given a ground floor room in the ajacent building. Which had its own entry and exit door. The rooms as always are kept very clean and with a comfortable bed etc. Now on this occasion myself and my wife were kept awake until the early hours of the morning with the television blaring out music by one guest nest door. Well if that wasn't bad enough. We then had another older guest the other side with what I could only describe as having social problems. What with her cursing all night into the early hours of the morning, the television blaring away. Not only describing she didn't want to go to jail again over a long and highfluted extremely loud conversation with her brother. I found myself totally exhausted having had very little sleep over my three day stay. Otherwiseothe hotel is in a great location in Canvey Island with very freindly and helpful staff.

Old, tired & in need of a complete refurbishment. Had the smell of a hotel from the 70’s. New carpets would be a good idea. I won’t be back!!

Staff were really helpful and bar/breakfast were great. All surfaces in the room were covered with dust - had to use the spare blanket to dust off the shelves before I could unpack. Silverfish in the sink. Not a major concern but not nice. I was bitten all over my chest overnight - I did not check for bed bugs, but this is a major concern for me. Again, staff great. Cleanliness terrible.
