Great stay! Needs to be fixed in back of the hotel. (Ocean did a number on the sea wall and exterior back walls. Great front desk ladies! You are right on the beach!! Excellent time!!

Nice view of the ocean. Reasonably priced and unit had a small kitchen. Front area parking is on the busy road. Caution when getting and out of parking spaces. Friendly and helpful staff.

The property has misleading photos. Not showing overall state of the building. The building needs some serious remos. spider and bugs everywhere. We got the wrong room compared what we booked. The property owner said they can't do much about that. We booked a double room with kitchen however the room had no kitchen. Yje housekeeping only changed the towels. The sink was clogged. The hotel said they only have one housekeeper and cannot change the sheets the bedding had blood stains. The curtains were hard to shut as the rod had tape on them to keep it together. The stairs leading to the beach was not in safe condition (there was a sign saying use it at your own risk)

Loved that it was a shoreline property. Nice green space and outdoor seating to enjoy the view and scenery. Nice to sit outside our room and watch the sunset. Would have been nice to have air conditioning or at least a lockable screen door to allow air to come in. Double beds made it tight for a family of four

This place reminded us of a 1980’s motel. Definitely needs updating. The facilities are average at best however you cannot beat being right on the ocean. There are several restaurants within a 10-20 minute walk along the sea wall.

Being on the oceanfront was the best but the beach was pretty rocky. Beautiful views and nice lawn to relax on however there weren’t enough lawn chairs. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the rooms have been redone and they were really nice and comfortable and clean. There’s an excellent restaurant a couple blocks away.

Very shabby on the outside, torn flooring and rickety stairs. The center courtyard has been decimated by a storm . We have stayed there numerous times but always in a room near the ocean, this time we were right by the road and it was very noisy. Don't be put off by the exterior the rooms are quite lovely.

The property is what it is.. it’s ok for a place to sleep close to the ocean. Rooms were older and not overly tidy. No amenities or beach access.

We enjoyed staying at this property with a beautiful ocean view. The room was very clean and it came with a kitchen which was great for saving money on meals out. The location was excellent as it was a short drive from local shops, and exploring places like Parkville and Coombs. The service here was welcoming and friendly. Our room opened onto the lower grassy courtyard which had a lovely pond and was family friendly. The area felt safe with no annoying partiers or smokers to interfere with the enjoyment of our stay. We especially enjoyed viewing the beautiful evening sunsets.

The Sand Pebbles was exactly what we expected. A bit dated, but clean, comfortable and affordable. The view was amazing and being right on the ocean, we could watch the birds and seals. The front desk staff was super pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

The fan in the bathroom is very noisy and ineffective - there is mold beginning to grow on the ceiling. It was quiet until people left very early and did a lot of banging. I also could hear talking tin the room next to me.

The building doesn’t look great on the outside, but the room was spacious and clean, the beds were comfortable and the staff was super-friendly. And it was a good price! And it’s right on the beach! I agree with some other reviewers that the smell of cleaning products was very strong and persistent. To me, it was still very worth it.

Great location - beach, shopping, walking trails and parks all quick and easy to access. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, not very soundproof. The highway and nextdoor guests were quite noticeable, though things quiet down overnight.

Booked just a one night stay on a trip up Island. I stayed at the Sand Pebbles many times when I lived on the Island in the 1970s and 1980s when it was new. It is a bit run down now outside although the rooms were clean and adequate. The kitchenette is just a fridge and microwave, no cups or utensils which was fine for us passing through but would be a surprise for a family on holiday. A small coffee maker was supplied but I prefer to make my own coffee. Had to heat the water in the micro with the coffee cup I had bought. Having said all this, the location is beautiful and I enjoyed a great walk at 7am. Stayed August 26th 2024.

I honestly did enjoy my stay overall, but I would not ever stay in the ground level again. The people upstairs of us were up at about 5 am both mornings and we could hear them stomping around. That was truly frustrating, but the location, the inn itself was very nice.

Management was very accomodating with room change, immediate response to our need for her to come to our room regarding tv and landline. Flexibility with check out time when I had important meeting at Check out time. Room looked lovely when we opened the door, looks like some nice recent renos have been down to this very established facility. Comfy Beds and chairs. Being right on The beach!!!!!!!!! With huge glass wall and door facing the beach!!!

Management was very accomodating with room change, immediate response to our need for her to come to our room regarding tv and landline. Hosts were terrible, left property and I want my money back. Struggling with Expedia and the sand pebbles inn. The rooms were absolutely disgusting, mold in the bathroom, spilled coffee stains on the side tables, dirt on the floor, kitchen was a mess, they said the rooms were clean and it definitely wasn’t touched. Place is a disgrace and the hosts act easy to deal with but refuse to pay money back. Didn’t even stay the night and they charged me anyway. Went to a better hotel down the road. Don’t waste your time and money at this place.

The surrounding area is nice as i5s close to the water. The reception is not very accommodating and lacking customer service. The room is clean but the coffee maker is really old.

We enjoyed staying at this property with a beautiful ocean view. The room was very clean and it came with a kitchen which was great for saving money on meals out. The location was excellent as it was a short drive from local shops, and exploring places like Parkville and Coombs. The service here was welcoming and friendly. Our room opened onto the lower grassy courtyard which had a lovely pond and was family friendly. The area felt safe with no annoying partiers or smokers to interfere with the enjoyment of our stay. We especially enjoyed viewing the beautiful evening sunsets.

Very happy to find this hotel for our stay. Right on the beach (high tide rocky, low tide nice and sandy), have everything you need for your stay and near by many places to go. Little mountain lookout - must visit place to see unbelievable views be very careful, super high not for people with kids too dangerous.

This place reminded us of a 1980’s motel. Definitely needs updating. The facilities are average at best however you cannot beat being right on the ocean. There are several restaurants within a 10-20 minute walk along the sea wall.

Being on the oceanfront was the best but the beach was pretty rocky. Beautiful views and nice lawn to relax on however there weren’t enough lawn chairs. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the rooms have been redone and they were really nice and comfortable and clean. There’s an excellent restaurant a couple blocks away.

Great place to stay and watch the ocean. When the tide comes in, the waves crash on the stone wall and when the tide is out, the beach is great. We saw a seal, blue herrons, and other sea birds.

Very shabby on the outside, torn flooring and rickety stairs. The center courtyard has been decimated by a storm . We have stayed there numerous times but always in a room near the ocean, this time we were right by the road and it was very noisy. Don't be put off by the exterior the rooms are quite lovely.

No room service and housekeeping service. Very strict rule for check-in time at 4:00pm. The staff locked the office door all the time. Very inconvenient for tourists and travellers.

Booked just a one night stay on a trip up Island. I stayed at the Sand Pebbles many times when I lived on the Island in the 1970s and 1980s when it was new. It is a bit run down now outside although the rooms were clean and adequate. The kitchenette is just a fridge and microwave, no cups or utensils which was fine for us passing through but would be a surprise for a family on holiday. A small coffee maker was supplied but I prefer to make my own coffee. Had to heat the water in the micro with the coffee cup I had bought. Having said all this, the location is beautiful and I enjoyed a great walk at 7am. Stayed August 26th 2024.

When we are checking in at the office, the lady say "no smoking allowed at the property!!..only at the designated area" I didn't want to say anything the office so disgusting smokey smell.

OveraIl, it felt like guests are tolerated there but not welcomed. The place needs a lot of love. As an older motel and keep in mind, there is no AC when you book. They do not advertise AC but I think a lot of travelers just assume so keep that in mind. It can get very warm in the room. The location is the selling feature here with a stairway right to a private section of the beach which was wonderful. However, the rooms that are available to book don't match the photos so they my be older. I was surprised that the main floor with the best view was clearly for the property owners perhaps? The blankets hanging for window coverings made the property look trashy and not well cared for. Most rooms face other rooms across the lawn but we moved our chairs over to view the water. I would have been disappointed with a second floor room because then there would be no real view. There were many rules and everything seemed to cost $25 if you break them. There is only one cleaner I believe which is why check in is very late at 4pm and check out is very early at 10am. They have rules about what you are allowed to cook as well. Nothing spicy, no fish and cameras everywhere, reminders to clean the dishes or get fined, no coffee. There is a long list to read and sign at check in. Bathrooms are tiny, curtains are broken resulting in no privacy or blocking of sunlight, sliding door curtains don't close all the way. The various issues are not charming as they would be in an old family cabin.
