Colonial Lodge Motel

I do not recommend this hotel! I paid $200 non refundable deposit for a twin room and when I called the owner to add an extra person he answered 'what' and said I had to pay $30 for an extra person as he said I booked on wotif and they take taxes and rest on commission. When I agreed he said I was a good girl which I thought was very unprofessional. When I checked in on arrival he said I was very beautiful, good looking and wanted to know personal details such as if I was seeing my mate who was with me , where I live, my job and if it was just me and my girlfriend staying. But when I told him my guy mate was staying with us he seemed disappointed. He made me write my credit card details on paper. He made me feel uncomfortable. There was a curtain behind the counter and I had suspicion that he might of been watching us on cameras however I couldn't see any in the room. The room was very outdated.. wifi didn't work! my friend slept in a single bed with Bob The Builder bed sheets as if they couldn't afford proper hotel sheets and she was itchy during the night . The room was very old.. the double bed sheet had holes and had a wax mark.. there was old soap marks in the shower and discloration on the walls and ripped carpet.. the room is definitely needed to be renovated and was not worth the money. The aircon was old and made noises.. The parking was very narrow. We also saw many men come out of the front room which we think is used for sexual services.

Facilities were adequate and beds comfortable. However the room was not clean, and the pillows were like rocks. Also surprised to find no milk or shampoo. There were 5 people in the room but we were only provided with 4 towels which were stained.

Staff were super friendly & helpful, lovely clean comfortable rooms. Great parking 👌 will definitely stay again when in Geelong

Absolutely disgusting room. Nothing was clean, the bedding had some kind of dirty debris in the sheets. The bedside lights had exposed wires. The door jambs looked like they were never cleaned and there looked like actual human faeces smeared across the inside of the door. Public toilets are cleaner than this room. Stay away from this place.

Bedspreads were stained and filthy, half hour spiel from the owner about how we should have been charged more for the room, just felt off. The bathroom was modernised which was ok

I was there for 3 nights, zero housekeeping done in this time.Old blanket on the bed, dirty and burn holes. The place is at least 20yrs out of date. I’m 70yrs old and cannot remember staying in a worse place. I would not stay there again for free. I still cannot believe the sheets and towels were never changed.

Old and rundown, smelly

Walking distance to Kardinia pool and local hotel. No towels provided. Unfortunately night was ruined by extremely noisy occupants who carried on with a very public domestic dispute between 2 and 5 am.

Perfect accommodation for a reasonable price within walking distance to the stadium. We had a very comfortable stay and the owner was really friendly and kind. Room had everything we needed.

No-one available to check in until nearly 2.30pm, the room was terrible with no wifi, tv was free to air and continually dropped out. The first two units were utilised by women who were turning 'tricks' all day (until approx 11pm) that was clearly audible through the wall. Curtains were ripped and ill fitting, beds looked old and unclean. There was no milk available for coffee...and no cutlery. The end units were occupied by men who were very vocal in the carpark outside until 2.30am, my thoughts were that they were selling "goods".

Room was clean but all old furniture, no milk in fridge we had to chase that up foors to office were locked all the time Price was to high for tge style and age of the motel.

Flooring was so cold. Pillows were like sleeping on a two story building. Furniture old and drab.

I booked a family room for 3 men who were in town to work on the Ironman, on a very busy weekend for the town. The manager cancelled this booking without informing or contacting me. When my workers arrived they were informed the booking had been cancelled (it was later admitted by Management) and the room booked by another customer. The manager said they had a room available with 1 double and a 1single. Fortunately I was able to arrange other accom for the 3rd worker so work took what was available. The room smelt very badly and was extremely dirty. Sleeping on top of the covers and with a party raging in the next couple of rooms, sleep was impossible for both. I would not recommend this hotel or the manager to accomodate my Golden Retrievers.

I got the family room for half discount and it was excellent. Near to Thai restaurant. Reception was very accommodating. I'm just uncomfortable with the pillows as it was too high for my head. I was not able to find the key drop off for early checkout.
