Room was updated and modern and kept very clean. Breakfast was nice and very easy to get with plenty of seating available. Staff was friendly. The hotel was in good shape however the additional cottages on the property looked in rough shape on the outside and were in desperate need of some yard maintenance. One or two people with a weed trimmer and some paint could make a big improvement in 1 weekend.

Excellent location next to the beautiful Skogafoss. Good restaurant attached to the Hotel. Only downside was that their new keypad to enter the rooms didn't work well, it kept locking me out even with the correct code.

Right next to Skogafoss. Very friendly staff. They went above and beyond by providing a packaged breakfast for early morning checkout before they opened for breakfast.

A great little hotel right next to the waterfall, this was our third stay here in a waterfall view room. the rooms are compact but have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are all friendly and professional and the hotel offers the added bonus of secure access to the corridors with rooms to separate you from the daily visitors using the hotel restaurant so you fell secure and comfortable to leave things in your room whilst out for the day. The breakfast has plenty of choice and sets you up for the day, the onsite restaurant is reasonably priced for Iceland with more generous portions compared to other places we stayed. A great spot to have access to the waterfall early in the morning before the crowds arrive or late into the evening for the northern lights.

A more basic, old fashioned hotel than the others we've been on our trip but we had everything we needed and the view from our window to the waterfall was phenomenal! No kettle in the rooms but a very good coffee machine in the hallway. It would be nice to have the option to cast on the tv.

Really basic accommodation, not even a kettle. But views of Skógafoss waterfall, access to decent lively bar & restaurant. Decent breakfast included, again very isolated with no options to wander. Very expensive at £280 per night, but this is Iceland & hotels are in very short supply, especially at this time of year.

Excellent day tripper hotel - we stayed for two days. It was clean and organized. The free coffee was nice but gave small servings. I was able to watch Netflix, youtube and prime video, which kept rainy nitghts busy. the skogafoss waterfall was right there and a great base for mor exploring in that area. Perfectualy situated, unimaginable views , great place to rest, have dinner and take in the sights from your chair .

Excellent location in front of amd with vievs to Skogafoss waterfall and the underrated Kvernufoss just besides. The hotel is not the newest, the bathroom in the room needs a refurbishement, the humidity left its traces. Overall good value, 3 stars rating is appropriate

The hotel was clean, quiet, bed was comfortable with blackout curtains for the midnight sun. The breakfast very good with great scrambled eggs and many other choices. The hotel is walking distance to Skógafoss waterfall which is stunning.

We stayed here one night as part of our 2 weeks Ring Rd. The location is so convenient- a few minutes walk to Skogafoss. The room was clean. However, the set up of the bathroom was strange. It was a big bathroom but lacking shelves. We had dinner at the onsite restaurant. It was decent. The stay also included a breakfast. It was fine. The staffs were very friendly.

It stinks!!! Literally, I wish I never had booked this hotel. Being that is located at a major Icelandic attraction one would think it’s a nice hotel. But no, hotel is super dirty, very old hotel.. did I say ‘old’??? needs a major renovation and updates in room and lobby. Don’t get fooled by the pictures. And whats even worse!!??! It smells like rotten eggs in the rooms because of the hot springs around the area. The hotel does not filters their hot water so that’s why smells like that. We complained but nothing was done. Staff very incompetent and inexperienced with guests. Carpet was filthy I was afraid of bed bugs. Luckily was only for one night -in-and-out. Breakfast was just average hot dishes were cold.

Rooms are tiny and cramped, and bath poorly designed. Room floor was carpet, which added a yeck factor. Breakfast was ok, but i would eat at the museum next time. No way to get air into the cramped room except to open a window, which sacrificed privacy and security since all rooms are ground level.

Small room. Staff were not present when checking in and pretty indifferent once they checked us in. The property isn't new and seems a little outdated. The room was clean. Breakfast was not good in comparison to other locations where we stayed traveling the Ring Road. The attraction here is the Skogafoss waterfall which you can see out the windows facing it. it is definitely convenient if staying here to climb/hike around this area.

The attraction here is the Skogafoss waterfall which you can see out the windows facing it. it is definitely convenient if staying here to climb/hike around this area.

It stinks!!! Literally, I wish I never had booked this hotel. Being that is located at a major Icelandic attraction one would think it’s a nice hotel. But no, hotel is super dirty, very old hotel.. did I say ‘old’??? needs a major renovation and updates in room and lobby. Don’t get fooled by the pictures. And whats even worse!!??! It smells like rotten eggs in the rooms because of the hot springs around the area. The hotel does not filters their hot water so that’s why smells like that. We complained but nothing was done. Staff very incompetent and inexperienced with guests. Carpet was filthy I was afraid of bed bugs. Luckily was only for one night -in-and-out. Breakfast was just average hot dishes were cold.

Great location right by the base of the waterfall. The only thing we didn’t like was that water gets everywhere when you take a shower and the floor is very slippery. Restaurant service is excellent! Easy check in by email was great. We loved having the code to our room before we even arrived

The hotel and bistro sits beautifully in view of Skogasfoss waterfall and hiking trails. Vik is only 20 minutes away. Best rest I had at a hotel. The bistro has delicious food too. The staff is great.

Absolutely one of the best places we stayed when we were in more remote Iceland. First of all, the hotel itself is newer and has a great dining room. The hotel is walking distance to the amazing Skogafoss Falls, which allowed us to have more independence from our group and go out and climb the falls before breakfast and do the trail.

We had a great stay at the hotel. They could not be more helpful. The breakfast had a great selection of food and the hotel bistro was fantastic. Will definitely stay at hotel skogafoss when I return. My daughter's family also stayed at the hotel and the family room was perfect with a queen bed and bunk beds for her 2 boys

Location location location! Great breakfast included. The dinner was a bit hit and miss. My lasagne was cold in the middle. Just enjoy being a 2 minute walk from skogafoss waterfall and don't expect too much from the dinner menu and you'll enjoy your stay. We did :)

So beautiful and Skogafoss was literally in the backyard! Had no idea so it was truly an awesome surprise. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast buffet was great, and the restaurant was delicious. The lamb burger was one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend!

Awesome location with Skógafoss Waterfall directly behind the hotel. Our room was located on the back side of the property so we had a view of the waterfall from our room. We enjoyed the hotel bistro. We only had an appetizer and dessert but both were very tasty. The breakfast included had a decent selection and we appreciated the coffee/tea station in the hall close to our room. My only complaints would be the walls must be pretty thin because there did seem to be more noise than some other hotels we stayed at. Also, we did not use the shower because there was a strong Sulfur smell due to the Geothermal hot water. I’m not sure I would stay more than one night but it is perfectly fine if you are exploring the coast and need somewhere to stay for a night.

Die Frau an der Rezeption war sehr professionell und schnell. Super. Die Zimmer waren zu klein: keine Abstellflächen für unsere 2 Koffer, keine vernünftige Sitzgelegenheit. Das Restaurant bot ein teures Abendessen: der Fisch trocken und auch die Beilagen ohne Geschmack, das Lamm sehr gut mit akzeptablen Beilagen. Alles in allem: der Preis viel zu hoch für die angebotene und erhaltene Qualität.
