First time here. Beat my expectations, and from the reviews I read, I had high expectations. This would be a good place to come with another couple because there are so many conversation areas that are nearly private. Many nice touches including warming bars for towels. Restaurant on site is a plus.

The Goldmoor Inn was a beautiful, quaint romantic place to enjoy the fall colors. The restaurant was fabulous and the owner of the Inn came to each table and checked in with each guest during dinner. Service was top notch. We stayed in the turret room and absolutely LOVED it!!! Breakfast was served in our room and was delivered on time with attention to every detail. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful getaway.

An excellent experience in a well maintained room. Very large room and bathroom. Plenty of light and numerous outlets. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Very peaceful and pretty area. Definitely a place to return to.

We stayed in their English Cottage -- it was beautiful, clean, cozy, warm, and wonderful in every way! A beautiful view of the valley was our treat every time we looked out the window! We enjoyed the fireplace giving our stay physical warmth and warmth of heart! The Christmas music piping through our TV was heart-warming, too! The breakfast brought to us each morning at the time we specified was a delicious treat, and the restaurant on the property had food that was to-die-for, in our opinion! This location was about 15 minutes away from downtown Galena, providing for us the quiet of the country at night and close access to shopping and eating during the day! Just all-in-all -- a beautiful, wonderful stay! We were satisfied in every way! Thank you, Goldmoor!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Our entire visit was great. Beautiful bed and breakfast inn with a great location for beautiful scenery. The inn’s restaurant had fine dinning with a beautiful sunset view. Food was excellent.

The owners were very friendly. The spa staff was wonderful and the massage was the best one I\'ve had in awhile. The room was clean and spacious. The tub and the view was amazing. However, with the price of it all there is only one reason I wouldn\'t go back. The Food. I do not like giving a bad review unless I truly believe I can\'t find any positive feedback. And here I unfortunately cannot. The breakfast: I got on day one. It is delivered to the room, which is nice, but it was really bad. It was French toast with allegedly fresh peaches, blueberries, a yogurt parfait and bacon. All of these things I serve in my own restaurant. None of it executed properly. The French toast had too much egg wash in my opinion so it had these gummy edges around it. The peaches smelled like fish. Either they were not stored properly or they touched raw seafood. Neither of which is okay. The Blueberries were not picked through, there were quite a few bad ones. The yogurt parfait was going untouched because... bad fruit. The bacon was terribly overcooked. I went to pick a piece up and it shattered. I quickly gave up home and drove into town where lucky Galena Bakehouse saved the day. The dinner: I could go on for days but I only have so many words left. Long story short everything was underseasoned, the sides were grossly small portions. The wellington was terrible, i had to send it back once. The second time was hardly "better". It all smelled off and didn\'t taste any better. Dissatisfied.

I don’t normally do reviews but I had to for this place. It was a very high-end, upscale B&B. Absolutely beautiful property and room! Gourmet breakfast brought to the room everyday. Very scenic. Bathroom was clean and newly remodeled. Bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend if you are looking for a romantic getaway.

It was a beautiful cabin, however first night there took a shower and no hot water. Warm at best. Closet door was broke, would not shut all the way, painters tape still on ceiling trim, hot tub not cleaned, when i addressed these issues they said management was going to get ahold of me, they did not. For the price of the cabin i thought it would be better

The hotel was beutiful, rooms where clean, and its location was nice & quiet. My only concern was dinner, it took a while to be served on and food to be delived. The place was not full or busy, short on staff? Maybe.

This was my wife and I’s first trip out to Galena, we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. It was beautiful! The Goldmoor Inn was gorgeous, cozy, and private. The view of the grounds from our cabin was the best. It was such a nice relaxing getaway from the kids! Highly recommend!

The one thing I will caution future guests about is breakfast. It’s one menu selection (there is no menu to choose from) for everyone every morning. So if you’re a picky eater or have lots of food sensitivities, this could be a real hassle. It is served in your room only, and delivery runs a bit on island time. So if you have timed plans in the morning, make sure to give yourself an extra half hour buffer to account for possible breakfast delays. Other than that, I had an absolutely fabulous stay. The fireplace in the room was my favorite feature. Bed and bedding were like sleeping on a cloud. Book a suite with river view if possible. The view is quite wonderful! I saw the inn keeper every day. He’s very friendly, talks to everyone, and truly wants you to have a wonderful stay. I highly recommend dinner at least once at the restaurant there. The food is exquisite! Keep in mind that lunch and snacks aren’t offered. Bring things from home, there’s a fridge and microwave in every room.

We had an absolutely lovely long weekend at the Goldmoor. The Arthur suite was spacious, and the whirlpool was a wonderful way to relax after taking in the local scenery. An excellent experience in a well maintained room. Very large room and bathroom. Plenty of light and numerous outlets. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Very peaceful and pretty area. Definitely a place to return to.

Very relaxing. Loved having bfast out on the porch. Waterfall shower very fun. Should have had instructions on how much coffee to put in for how many cups of water. I guessed and made motor oil.

It was a beautiful cabin, however first night there took a shower and no hot water. Warm at best. Closet door was broke, would not shut all the way, painters tape still on ceiling trim, hot tub not cleaned, when i addressed these issues they said management was going to get ahold of me, they did not. For the price of the cabin i thought it would be better

The one thing I will caution future guests about is breakfast. It’s one menu selection (there is no menu to choose from) for everyone every morning. So if you’re a picky eater or have lots of food sensitivities, this could be a real hassle. It is served in your room only, and delivery runs a bit on island time. So if you have timed plans in the morning, make sure to give yourself an extra half hour buffer to account for possible breakfast delays. Other than that, I had an absolutely fabulous stay. The fireplace in the room was my favorite feature. Bed and bedding were like sleeping on a cloud. Book a suite with river view if possible. The view is quite wonderful! I saw the inn keeper every day. He’s very friendly, talks to everyone, and truly wants you to have a wonderful stay. I highly recommend dinner at least once at the restaurant there. The Goldmoor Inn was a beautiful, quaint romantic place to enjoy the fall colors. The restaurant was fabulous and the owner of the Inn came to each table and checked in with each guest during dinner. Service was top notch. We stayed in the turret room and absolutely LOVED it!!! Breakfast was served in our room and was delivered on time with attention to every detail. We will definitely return. This was my wife and I’s first trip out to Galena, we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. It was beautiful! The Goldmoor Inn was gorgeous, cozy, and private. The view of the grounds from our cabin was the best. It was such a nice relaxing getaway from the kids! Highly recommend!

The property is beautiful, even in the winter with no snow. We had great views of the Mississippi river and my wife and I enjoyed the break away from society. It was wonderful to listen to the wildlife. There were so many stars out during the cloudless nights as well - and the quiet was wonderful. It was broken every 40 minutes or so with the rumble of a train passing by, which we also enjoyed hearing. The breakfasts were served in room and were amazing as well. Galena was less than 15 minutes away, so getting to town was easy enough.

We stayed in their English Cottage -- it was beautiful, clean, cozy, warm, and wonderful in every way! A beautiful view of the valley was our treat every time we looked out the window! We enjoyed the fireplace giving our stay physical warmth and warmth of heart! The Christmas music piping through our TV was heart-warming, too! The breakfast brought to us each morning at the time we specified was a delicious treat, and the restaurant on the property had food that was to-die-for, in our opinion! This location was about 15 minutes away from downtown Galena, providing for us the quiet of the country at night and close access to shopping and eating during the day! Just all-in-all -- a beautiful, wonderful stay! We were satisfied in every way! Thank you, Goldmoor!

We loved our stay here! We booked a last minute trip to go skiing, and this was a great choice for our stay! The staff was so helpful and friendly, and the food was amazing! The Inn was also very close to the ski resort which was so convenient.

The owners were very friendly. The spa staff was wonderful and the massage was the best one I\'ve had in awhile. The room was clean and spacious. The tub and the view was amazing. However, with the price of it all there is only one reason I wouldn\'t go back. The Food. I do not like giving a bad review unless I truly believe I can\'t find any positive feedback. And here I unfortunately cannot. The breakfast: I got on day one. It is delivered to the room, which is nice, but it was really bad. It was French toast with allegedly fresh peaches, blueberries, a yogurt parfait and bacon. All of these things I serve in my own restaurant. None of it executed properly. The French toast had too much egg wash in my opinion so it had these gummy edges around it. The peaches smelled like fish. Either they were not stored properly or they touched raw seafood. Neither of which is okay. The Blueberries were not picked through, there were quite a few bad ones. The yogurt parfait was going untouched because... bad fruit. The bacon was terribly overcooked. I went to pick a piece up and it shattered. I quickly gave up home and drove into town where lucky Galena Bakehouse saved the day. The dinner: I could go on for days but I only have so many words left. Long story short everything was underseasoned, the sides were grossly small portions. The wellington was terrible, i had to send it back once. The second time was hardly "better". It all smelled off and didn\'t taste any better. Dissatisfied.
