Property is conveniently located off Rt 3 and it is a very leisurely 5-7 minute walk to the main strip and harbor area so no need to drive if you don't want to. Rooms are clean and well kept, queen bed was very comfortable. Free ice and water refill station in check in area are convenient and much appreciated. Ladies that keep the check in desk are very friendly and will offer recommendations for food and activities. Rooms are relatively quiet considering proximity to the main road. Worth it for the convenience. Would love to stay here again!

Had no idea what I was doing when I planned our first trip to Acadia. Island Place was really a surprise gem and was the PERFECT base for us. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Main Street, so you’re walking distance to everything but far away from the crowds. Super convenient to get to Bar Island and to drive to the main roads. And the free parking spot took all the potential headache out of finding a spot for the car. Maureen and the rest of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, always saying hello and asking about our trip. The room itself was clean, comfy, and quiet. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Island Place. We traveled up for a quick two day stay and wanted somewhere walkable to the downtown proper. The rooms were clean, well kept, and had everything one would need amenity wise. The water bottle filling station and ice were especially nice for the morning hikes! Highly recommend and will be back again!

All the staff was pleasant, friendly and accommodating to all questions. Rooms were clean with updated style furniture, floorind and furnishes. The porch had nice lounging chairs to sit outside. Our room had a small bathroom (1 person at a time) but it worked for our needs to have a landing spot for the weekend. Easy 10 minute max walk downtown. Plenty of bars or places to eat less than a 10 minutes away. Found it nice to park right in front of your room door and not have o carry everything into a larger hotel. Overall great stay.

We had such a wonderful stay at Island Place! Kim was so friendly when she checked us in and gave us so much helpful information about the area. The location couldn’t be better—an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor and just a quick drive to Acadia National Park. Parking right out front was super convenient. The rooms were immaculate, cute, and perfectly quaint. We loved having a sitting area right outside our room on the deck to relax and drink some coffee, and the gardens were absolutely beautiful. We even met the owner as we were checking out, and she was so kind and personable. We’ll definitely stay here again for both the cleanliness and the unbeatable location. Highly recommend!

The ONLY thing that bothered me about this stay was the price. At almost $400/night (when fees & taxes were added), it seemed expensive for a room in an older style motel with no frills, no breakfast, & very little amenities. That being said, the rooms were clean & in very good condition. There was only one community microwave to use in the Lobby but there was a fridge in the room. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and informative. When we checked in, they had maps ready to show us the recommended eating & shopping places and how to get there. Parking was free & it was an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor so it was nice not to have to fight for a parking spot because we could leave our car at the motel. It was also in a good location to slip out & be on our way to Acadia Nat'l Park quickly without fighting traffic. The beds were comfortable & the water was hot. Even though they did not offer breakfast, they did have a coffee bar in the lobby that was available for hot drinks & guests had a code to access the lobby before/after hours. If it had been less expensive, it would have been nice to have had more time to explore Bar Harbor & Acadia Park, but the price of the rooms limited our stay to 2 nights. To be fair, the prices in the area were all a little steep though, and some much higher than what we paid so maybe it was just a matter of demand over supply, but it hurts a common person's budget to pay that much just to have a place to sleep.

We had a fantastic stay! Really nice and clean place with friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location, was great to park the car here and have it for trips into Acadia but being able to walk just a few minutes to anything we wanted to do in town. Thank you for the wonderful weekend!

The property is very well maintained, nice room, extremely clean and well taken care of. People are helpful, giving directions, helped with planning the days with tips and tricks. Small but nice room, could have used some better pillow options, there were only two pillows on the bed and they were too thick. Hot beverages and drinks in the office 24hrs but non in the rooms.

Room was enormous, clean and very comfortable. All the staff we dealt with were so friendly - explaining the local area and Acadia National Park. The hotel is so close to everything in Bar Harbor so you can leave the car and just walk around. Super close to Acadia - just a 10 minute drive. Coffee, tea etc. available at the reception, as well as a place to refil water bottles which was appreciated. Would have loved if the rooms had glasses instead of plastic cups though. Would definitely stay again!

This is a standard motel property that has been well kept and updated. The double my husband and I shared was modest in size, but ample to accommodate us and our things for three days, with a small fridge, and sitting areas indoor and out. Walkability was important to us—especially since you pay for all parking in town and it is regularly enforced —so being a 10 minute walk to the Harbor and downtown area was great. Front desk staff were very helpful with tips, and office is open by keypad when it is not staffed.

Island Place is an amazing stay to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia. The hotel is clean and well maintained and walking distance from downtown and the Village Green. We were able to walk to the shuttle buses instead of driving. Maureen and everyone there are the nicest people we've encountered at a hotel ever. They have amazing recommendations and made us feel like home. We are eager to come back!

We had a wonderful time at Island Place. It is a great location and we enjoyed many of the restaurants near the property. The staff of Island Place were very kind and set this place apart from other Bar Harbor options. We were heading into town for a wedding and they helped make sure we were checked in and ready to go! We would definitely stay here again!

We had such a wonderful stay at Island Place! Kim was so friendly when she checked us in and gave us so much helpful information about the area. The location couldn’t be better—an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor and just a quick drive to Acadia National Park. Parking right out front was super convenient. The rooms were immaculate, cute, and perfectly quaint. We loved having a sitting area right outside our room on the deck to relax and drink some coffee, and the gardens were absolutely beautiful. We even met the owner as we were checking out, and she was so kind and personable. We’ll definitely stay here again for both the cleanliness and the unbeatable location. Highly recommend!

The property is very well maintained, nice room, extremely clean and well taken care of. People are helpful, giving directions, helped with planning the days with tips and tricks. This was an amazing experience to stay at Island Place. Location is very close to the center, but far enough to stay quiet. Great place.

Island Place is an amazing stay to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia. The hotel is clean and well maintained and walking distance from downtown and the Village Green. We were able to walk to the shuttle buses instead of driving. Maureen and everyone there are the nicest people we've encountered at a hotel ever. They have amazing recommendations and made us feel like home. We are eager to come back!

Property is conveniently located off Rt 3 and it is a very leisurely 5-7 minute walk to the main strip and harbor area so no need to drive if you don't want to. Rooms are clean and well kept, queen bed was very comfortable. Free ice and water refill station in check in area are convenient and much appreciated. Ladies that keep the check in desk are very friendly and will offer recommendations for food and activities. Rooms are relatively quiet considering proximity to the main road. Worth it for the convenience. Would love to stay here again!

Had no idea what I was doing when I planned our first trip to Acadia. Island Place was really a surprise gem and was the PERFECT base for us. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Main Street, so you’re walking distance to everything but far away from the crowds. Super convenient to get to Bar Island and to drive to the main roads. And the free parking spot took all the potential headache out of finding a spot for the car. Maureen and the rest of the staff were so friendly and welcoming, always saying hello and asking about our trip. The room itself was clean, comfy, and quiet. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend!

Great place to stay in Bar Harbor. Walk to everything, off street parking and the staff is friendly and helpful. The porch is a great place to sit after a day of hiking or shopping.

Perfect location, close to the park and a good walkable distance to the downtown. Away from the noise and through traffic but walkable distance to the grocery store, restaurants, and water. Highly recommend!

Small but nice room, could have used some better pillow options, there were only two pillows on the bed and they were too thick. Hot beverages and drinks in the office 24hrs but non in the rooms.

Room was enormous, clean and very comfortable. All the staff we dealt with were so friendly - explaining the local area and Acadia National Park. The hotel is so close to everything in Bar Harbor so you can leave the car and just walk around. Super close to Acadia - just a 10 minute drive. Coffee, tea etc. available at the reception, as well as a place to refil water bottles which was appreciated. Would have loved if the rooms had glasses instead of plastic cups though. Would definitely stay again!

The ONLY thing that bothered me about this stay was the price. At almost $400/night (when fees & taxes were added), it seemed expensive for a room in an older style motel with no frills, no breakfast, & very little amenities. That being said, the rooms were clean & in very good condition. There was only one community microwave to use in the Lobby but there was a fridge in the room. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and informative. When we checked in, they had maps ready to show us the recommended eating & shopping places and how to get there. Parking was free & it was an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor so it was nice not to have to fight for a parking spot because we could leave our car at the motel. It was also in a good location to slip out & be on our way to Acadia Nat'l Park quickly without fighting traffic. The beds were comfortable & the water was hot. Even though they did not offer breakfast, they did have a coffee bar in the lobby that was available for hot drinks & guests had a code to access the lobby before/after hours. If it had been less expensive, it would have been nice to have had more time to explore Bar Harbor & Acadia Park, but the price of the rooms limited our stay to 2 nights. To be fair, the prices in the area were all a little steep though, and some much higher than what we paid so maybe it was just a matter of demand over supply, but it hurts a common person's budget to pay that much just to have a place to sleep.

Upon check in, the lady at the desk was very informative about everything. Even good places to eat, coffee and hot cocoa in the little lobby,computer and printer. The was was very spacious, the bed was super comfy with plenty of pillows. The front of the motel has a porch with rocking chairs and small tables by every room. The decor outside was nicely decorated for the fall. It was beautiful. You can walk to Main Street for food and shopping in about 10 minutes. And also the harbor. It is a nice quiet area. Very safe feeling. I can't say enough. We loved it. Would most definitely stay here again if we return. Would not even try to find another motel to try. This one was absolutely perfect for us.

This was our base for exploring Bar Harbor and Acadia NP. The only negative I have at all is the room was a tad small but it was well laid out and had everything we needed. There was a frig in the room but you had to go to the office for a microwave or coffee. Good thing the office was only steps away. I think the property only has 10 room which was one of the things we liked about it. It was also an easy walk from the waterfront, shopping and restaurants. You parked right in front of the room so super convenient for bringing in bags or driving into the park. The staff was very helpful with maps, directions and recommendations!

We really enjoyed our stay at Island Place, staff were super helpful, great location, short walk to downtown, just far enough out of the hustle and bustle but super convenient, grocery store a short walk and many dining places.The only improvement I could recommend, would be a laundry.

Such a clean, well kept little inn. Everyone at the front desk was so helpful and nice. Rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. There was a little refrigerator with a freezer that came in handy for sandwich supplies if you are planning long days in Acadia or have dinner leftovers. Little lobby has a microwave, coffee, creamer, sugar and to go cups. And they had a little ice machine and bottle filler. Close enough to walk to downtown and within 5 min walk to a the grocery store and a few good breakfast places, 2 cats and cafe this way. All the dinner restaurants we went were great as well. Project social, Geddy’s, Blaze, the Barnacle for oysters.
