Hotel & Sport Bar Oz

First if all, it’s a great location with free parking. For $104, not worth it. Loud, no shampoo, horribly expensive for what you get.

Close to everything, and the Bar and the pool are fun .

The staff is the best in town. I’ve visited Jaco a couple times and Rosie has the best! The location is perfect and you can park on site. Is it a 5-star.. no.. you shouldn’t visit Jaco if that’s what you’re looking for. I’ll be back in September! One upgrade suggested, they need a fridge in the rooms.

Good spot if you’re trying to party or watch sports. Def leave the wife and kids at home lol. Staff is extremely accommodating, anything you need just ask and they’ll make it happen. 75% of the crowd here at any given time are Americans since most locals can’t afford it. They have 24/7 security too.

Didn’t like that there were no elevators. Carried luggage 3 flights of stairs. Breakfast take forever to prepare.

Love this place. Simple as that. For someone new to the area security makes you feel safe and does thier job well. The rest of the staff was friendly as well including the awesome bar staff. Its a really convenient location.

OZ gets almost a perfect score… Great food Great staff Great location Horrible DJ Sound system gets outta control. Ask them to turn it down. Fun though, super fun. Renovated pool area opens in 2026

Property is clean and close to beach and other dining. Rooms are above bar and the music is loud until 2:00 am. While I was staying in room 10 the a/c only worked the first day of 3 night stay, television remote would not control volume. There is not any useful amenities in the room refrigerator, iron and ironing board. There are better choices for similar money in the area.

Friendly staff, very clean hotel that is a 2 minute walk from the beach. The noise level from the bar can be a bit loud at night but other than that I would recommend this hotel to others as a very affordable option for a stay in Jaco. 👍👍👍👍👍

location is good. walking distance to the beach 100-150m. close to main street for shopping, food, etc. rooms are outdated. no mini fridge, phone(not a big deal for most), not enough electric plugs and no usb charging plugs. no bed side lamps. rooms were clean as was the hotel in general. bed was comfortable. shower had good water pressure and temp. this place is more a bar with a hotel attached than a hotel. noisy because of than but is quiet after 1230am. room i was in had a balcony, small but usable. AC and fan worked well with out being too noisy. food was fine but expensive, $10 for a plate of fries, $20 for 3-4 cups of coffee, toast and OJ. would not recommend for families but great for a trip with friends. A bit expensive for what it is.

The room itself wasn’t bad (although extremely bare like no shampoo, only 1 towel, etc) but it was insanely noisy from the bar downstairs. Also, the combination to access our room was absurdly easy and a similar pattern likely would have given us access to any other room.

Terrible room with window directly in the bar. We could not sleep until 2h30 am, never go there!

It has a sports bar, but they play very loud music and the room are right above the bar area. The loud music did not stop until 1`2:40 in the morning.

The Hotel is advertised as a sports bar with a Hotel. It more of a night club! My room was right above the night club with the music blasting until 2 a m. I had to pay to move to another hotel just to relax.

Good room. Little noisy until midnight. Great location. Bed was decent

Nice rooms, very clean and spacious, the staff is friendly, the food is nice.

Great property room had beach view

This Property has no elevator. If you get placed on the top floor be prepared to get your exercise in. The waitress gave us menus and never returned to ask what do we want. Won't be staying there again.

Beautifully renovated Hotel and pool, looks fantastic and central to all restaurants and activities, my issue is the Oz really caters to young men with a bachelor crowd as the Disco blasts music by the pool till 2:00 in the morning and you really can't sleep, the hotel bar and restaurant served really good food but it's extremely expensive but so is everything in Jaco. The hotel check-in process can be annoying as the front desk was not always available on site and I know of a person who had to check out without any contact with Hotel management I think the hotel owners needed to shore up some issues and decide, make it clear what kind of Hotel they want to be and who they want to cater to, I'm not sure anyone over 40 should book a room here even though it's a beautiful hotel. lMO it's for young people. Know what your getting into.

I've stayed here multiple times. The manager, ROSIE. Insures everyone is having a great experience. Always the live sports w great music, All the time. Hot food as well. I never delt w any attitude. ALWAYS SERVICE WITH A SMILE

The team at Oz was outstanding. The bar is a true sports bar, tv’s everywhere. Rose and her staff were more than accommodating. I will be back

If Hooters or Twin Peaks ran a hotel it would be the Oz Hotel and Sports Bar. Honestly,I chose this hotel because of the Sports Bar and the TV's I wanted to be able to watch the NBA All Star Game. All of the bartenders and waitstaff are very friendly and helpful. The office to check in is inside the bar. Rosie is the manager but when I arrived late evening on a Friday she was gone. One of the bartenders checked me in no problem. To me the hotel gives more of an airbnb vibe. You are given a code to unlock the door to your room. The room was spacious but kinda had a weird design. This hotel is in the perfect walking distance to Cocal about 10-15 minutes and if you decide to bring a friend back they will hold their ID and also charge you a $10 convenience fee. There are cameras everywhere so I always felt completely safe. The beach is literally a 3-5 minute walk. Everything in Jaco is expensive. I've seen reviews complaining about the price of the food and they're not wrong however, their food prices are on par with every other establishment in Jaco. Not to mention there's a cheaper taco joint across the street and a pizza place on the corner that stays open late. I personally spent a lot of time at the bar watching sports and everything I ordered was good. I would definitely stay here again next time I’m in town.
