Room smelled and looked clean but needed a little more attention to the corners/edges of the room near the bed (dust, dead fly). Breakfast hash was really yummy, meat quiche was very salty, beverages were good, mini blueberry muffins were ok, but the French toast muffins were dry and bland. The room smelled clean and pleasant! The room itself was very inviting! I would have really appreciated access to an ice machine instead of having to request the ice from staff.

Hot tub was so relaxing and the view, beautiful! The cottage was set apart with just the right amount of seclusion! We will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Great little bed and breakfast not far off the highway but feels very secluded. You’ll feel like you’re staying in the tree tops! The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff thought of everything one could want in a room. To top it off delivery of breakfast to your room in the morning! Nothing in the immediate area, but the staff was very clear prior to arrival and even recommended the nearest restaurants and gas stations so there were no surprises. Would highly recommend this place if passing through the area.

The space was clean and very private. My daughter and I enjoyed the robes and slippers provided. The staff was very attentive. They provide breakfast, which they deliver to the room. It is very rustic, and they had a small garden on the property. It is only 1.5 miles from the Shasta Lake Caverns, which we visited. Unfortunately, there aren't any nearby restaurants. Everything was a 10-15 minute drive away. They mentioned a train might pass by, but we didn't hear it from our room, the Grey Squirrel.

Very peaceful setting and very clean. It's convenient as it's close to the freeway - but not so close that you hear the freeway. We found it to be very quiet at night. We slept with the windows open and didn't hear any traffic all night - just the crickets and birds in the morning. There is no restaurant on site but there is a great patio area to eat any meals - or we found a bar that has pretty good food - and they smoke their own pork and tri tips! It is about 10 min north of the hotel.

Best place I have ever stayed. The rooms were wonderful so cozy, amazing shower, fireplace and jetted tub were great additions. The staff was so friendly, great communication. Breakfast was delicious. Such a great setting, peaceful, quiet, beautiful, wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely go back.

My stay at the Shasta Inn was absolutely exceptional. The property is peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to relax. The highlight for me was the jetted tub—luxurious and rejuvenating after a long day of exploring. The food was really good, adding to the overall comfort of the stay, and everything throughout the inn was very clean and well-kept. The calm atmosphere, combined with great amenities and attention to detail, made my experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for comfort, relaxation, and quality in Shasta, the Shasta Inn is the place to go. And their continental breakfast is beyond a home-cooked meal. Very excellent served to your room.

A Disappointing and Poorly Managed Property. Avoid at All Costs. Our stay at this Inn was deeply disappointing due to glaring mismanagement and a complete lack of hospitality. What could have been a beautiful and peaceful retreat has sadly deteriorated into a neglected and poorly maintained rental. We rented the treehouse, which came at a premium and was advertised as having its own kitchen. However, the kitchen was completely empty: no glasses, plates, utensils, or even basic necessities. We had to walk to the main house to retrieve a few loose plastic items, which felt both unsanitary and highly inconvenient. The interior was not clean, and the landscaping was clearly neglected. Shrubs and branches along our walkway were so overgrown they struck us in the face. The property appears to have once been beautiful, but it has now been left in a state of visible decline. If you're considering staying in the main house, be aware that it carries a strong and persistent smell of Indian food. The breakfast brought to us was entirely Indian cuisine, with no alternative offered. It was unpalatable to the point where I could not eat it. Additionally, the property is cluttered with Buddha statues that are for sale.

It's a beautiful location--kind of like camping--but with nice amenities. Spotlessly clean...and we found it quite quiet. Others commented on the freeway & train noise, but we didn't have anything bother us. It's nice that they bring breakfast to the room... especially because it was pouring down rain that morning! And we enjoyed the big tub, as well! They have great wifi, too! We will stay again!

Everything. Best night of our trip. Room was spotless, Staff was amazing and custom ordered breakfast served in our room was perfect. The extremely large room with fireplace, the largest walk-in shower I've ever seen, and a bed that was like sleeping on a cloud. I'm not sure what more you could want.

Highly recommend The Inn at Shasta Lake. Everything was exactly as described. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfasts delivered to our room was delicious and different food each day.

The pride in caring was evident from the moment we walked in. Clean, well organized and good staff. Room was small—we had the goldfinch room-but comfortable. Excellent A/C and fan, very good shower, nice touches with microwave, fridge, coffee maker, quality sheets/towels and the offer of breakfast delivered in bed. Recommended

The property was beautiful. The nature elements were very soothing and perfect for a vacation. The room was big and spacious and not cluttered. Bathroom was huge too. We were in the royal shasta room. Included breakfast was a special touch and we really enjoyed our indian and continental breakfast. However, I found some stray hair on the linen so hygiene-wise...I'm not sure .Communication was not my style either. Ever since the booking, i got non-stop emails and messages to share my personal email so they can send "additional information about my room". I have never been asked this with any expedia booking so it felt sneaky and suspicious. In those same emails and texts, I kept getting told to expect a call to receive check-in information. This was weird too. I was on a road trip and it was very frustrating that I had to be able to receive a call from the property to receive my access details? Maybe some people like the human touch but it was simply an annoyance to me. When i did receive the call, as expected, it kept getting dropped because I was on the road the whole time. The little i could hear was the person telling me they dont give access details until they speak to the guest. This is a weird requirement and no where mentioned in the property details. Again felt iffy. And of course the person tried several creative ways to get my personal email again! The whole thing felt very odd and I dont trust this property to book a stay again.

We rented the treehouse, which came at a premium and was advertised as having its own kitchen. However, the kitchen was completely empty: no glasses, plates, utensils, or even basic necessities. We had to walk to the main house to retrieve a few loose plastic items, which felt both unsanitary and highly inconvenient. The interior was not clean, and the landscaping was clearly neglected. Shrubs and branches along our walkway were so overgrown they struck us in the face. The property appears to have once been beautiful, but it has now been left in a state of visible decline. If you're considering staying in the main house, be aware that it carries a strong and persistent smell of Indian food. The breakfast brought to us was entirely Indian cuisine, with no alternative offered. It was unpalatable to the point where I could not eat it. Additionally, the property is cluttered with Buddha statues that are for sale.

I would strongly advise against booking the Goldfinch room. Calling it a "luxury" room is incredibly misleading. At just 200 square feet, a full third is taken up by the bathroom, leaving the sleeping area feeling more like a phone booth—for those who remember phone booths. There’s no closet, not even a coat hook. The bed is about as comfortable as a futon—firm, unyielding, and far from restful. To make things worse, the bed doesn’t even face the television (which hardly matters, since the only channels available were infomercials). The room’s single window and its glass front door both face the lobby entrance, with bright lights shining through the blinds all night. It’s noisy, lacks privacy, and feels more like an afterthought than a guest room. I later discovered that a room more than twice the size was just $10 more, which made the whole experience feel like a complete ripoff. This was a textbook case of putting lipstick on a pig: glossy description, deeply flawed execution. I won’t be staying again—and I suggest you don’t either.

The Hummingbird suite was very spacious and had a great spa tub. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet even though there were guests in the closest rooms to mine. Cell calls texting worked fine with my Verizon plan.

Close to I-5, bed was comfortable… this seems to be a converted house. The room we stayed in was a converted living room or family room (hummingbird). Had an interesting smell of food that I didn’t recognize. There were many mosquito eaters (bugs) flying around the room. We killed three of them before we went to sleep. I think someone left the door open, (maybe to air it out?) over all I enjoyed the bed and shower, my wife said she probably wouldn’t want to stay there again.

Lovely place, but it\'s the service that makes this place stellar. Although conveniently just off the freeway, we didn\'t hear any traffic. The room was clean, attractive, and comfortable. The bed linens had a silky feel, and the shower was HUGE. Communication was excellent. When we arrived, we were escorted to our room and offered help bringing our belongings from the car. The subject of dinner came up, and it turned out the hotel was experimenting with offering dinner for an extra charge. We were so relieved not to have to get back in the car to get dinner or to eat Thanksgiving leftovers we\'d brought. We were offered the choice of butter chicken or butter paneer, so we ordered one of each, which was great. The entrees were delicious and not overly spicy. They were accompanied by basmati rice and naan. We filled out an order for the next day\'s breakfast, which was included in the price of the room. My husband ordered the quiche, and I ordered the French toast "muffin," a cross between French toast and bread pudding. Each entree came with a potato/veggie saute. Also available to order were beverages and breads. I\'m sure I have forgotten something, but we had more food than we could consume both at dinner and breakfast. Oh, and we had the choice at each meal of eating at a table in our room or the lounge. Max was very patient with us when we got lost getting there and also when my husband left his Fitbit behind, even with the bother of sending it to us. Highly recommend!!!

The staff at this inn are unbelievable. The manager Max, is the kindest, most caring I have ever experienced in any hotel or airbnb. He went out of his way to ensure everything was perfect for us and after we had left and we accidentally left a bag he immediately alerted us so we could come back and get it. Just excellent customer care!

Peace, quiet, exactly what I needed. The manager is very responsive and caring. I stayed in the Acorn, a stand alone building with a private drive. The property is close to the train and the highway - you can hear both. It didn’t bother me, I was expecting it due to the excellent communication from the property. I love this little gem and I’m grateful for my time spent here.

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing stay in forest near Mount Shasta. Inn is away from it all but close to Shasta Lake, Mount Shasta City, Dunsmuir, and Redding. Delicious breakfast delivered to your room each morning. Clean and comfortable rooms, and excellent service.

The space was clean and very private. My daughter and I enjoyed the robes and slippers provided. The staff was very attentive. They provide breakfast, which they deliver to the room. It is very rustic, and they had a small garden on the property. It is only 1.5 miles from the Shasta Lake Caverns, which we visited. Unfortunately, there aren't any nearby restaurants. Everything was a 10-15 minute drive away. They mentioned a train might pass by, but we didn't hear it from our room, the Grey Squirrel.

Very peaceful setting and very clean. It's convenient as it's close to the freeway - but not so close that you hear the freeway. We found it to be very quiet at night. We slept with the windows open and didn't hear any traffic all night - just the crickets and birds in the morning. There is no restaurant on site but there is a great patio area to eat any meals - or we found a bar that has pretty good food - and they smoke their own pork and tri tips! It is about 10 min north of the hotel.

This was a great place to stay, especially for the price in a tourist area! It is very close off I-5, yet secluded and quiet. Self check in is easy and they communicate with you at various points to make everything easy. It was clean, comfortable and had great AC, that was blissfully quiet. Great breakfasts you order the night before and they bring to you in the morning. Convenient access to any extras you need like ice, extra coffee, condiments, etc. Really enjoyed our stay. If you get a chance while there, visit the Shasta Caverns and eat at Huff’s.

It's very easily accessed from I-5 yet quite secluded, surrounded by forest. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The common room/breakfast area atmosphere feels a bit like UK. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They have everything planned and sorted out to perfection. You can have your breakfast delivered to your room with all the trimmings packed. We will definitely come back and have already recommended it to our friends. Sorry we could only stay one night on our way from Montana to LA but it's a great place for a longer stay.

Superb service! We've stayed with our puppy and it was easy checking, transparent fees and policies. Room was spacious, clean, comfy and had everything we need. We tried both dinner provided and breakfast and I really loved the service: they brought it to our room right on time with lovely presentation, however the quality of food was quite average. Overall would definitely recommend and we will come to stay again!

Service was wonderful. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us. The daily breakfast was very nice. Flavors tended toward Indian spices, which, we liked. However, the coffee and tea had a bad taste. Room was very nice. Location is convenient to the main highway. Minor complaint is a bit of road noise from the highway. Would stay here again.

We loved our stay at this quiet getaway. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. The grounds and our room were very clean. My only recommendation would be the breakfast. The food could use a little improvement in quality. Other than that this place is super! Highly recommend!

What a find! The room was clean, cool and comfortable. The bed was excellent the television easy to use the refrigerator cold and best of all the shower was unbelievable! They spent a lot of money on the shower in the jackrabbit room and it was a great experience. But the breakfast, was probably the biggest surprise of all—no simple, cheap hotel buffet here. A made to order breakfast that was extremely tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. If I had a complaint, it would only be that this particular room did not have any sort of chairs or table for outside sitting And the walls inside were mostly bare. Please put up more of those beautiful oil paintings that you have decorating some areas. We will definitely be back even though there are no views of the lake and it is somewhat close to the five freeway so noise is a small factor, but not inside the rooms Thank you for allowing us to visit this exquisite property!

They spent a lot of money on the shower in the jackrabbit room and it was a great experience. But the breakfast, was probably the biggest surprise of all—no simple, cheap hotel buffet here. A made to order breakfast that was extremely tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. If I had a complaint, it would only be that this particular room did not have any sort of chairs or table for outside sitting And the walls inside were mostly bare. Please put up more of those beautiful oil paintings that you have decorating some areas. We will definitely be back even though there are no views of the lake and it is somewhat close to the five freeway so noise is a small factor, but not inside the rooms Thank you for allowing us to visit this exquisite property!

This place is truly a hidden gem! The room was immaculate, but still very welcoming and cozy. Max waited in the lobby to greet me and make sure that I had everything I needed upon my arrival. They were very accommodating and helpful when I asked for an earlier breakfast, and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend staying here!

Really really great place! Very clean, was surprised at how nice the room was especially with having to be in a pet friendly one. And having a complimentary breakfast delivered to our room in the morning was something I've never experienced before! Absolutely loved it

We took a driving trip up and back to the San Juan Islands with our dog. We stayed in 4 hotels total. This was the worst. They sent 6 emails, 6 texts, and called us to discuss check-in. It was ridiculous. I was on vacation! It appears they want no contact with guests. Our cabin was in the middle of a renovation. No siding, Construction tape all over the patio and ladders outside the windows obstructing any view. The train is close and quite loud- especially at 2am. Walking our dog around the property had garbage and other debris. It is family owned and they do try. The inside of our cabin was clean and had a very nice bathroom. However, I feel a cabin with a kitchenette should have a few plates and utensils.
