The motel was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is very close to amenities (gas station, restaurants, etc). It is also a very short (10 min.) drive to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor village and center. An added bonus was a well maintained double-entry dog run which was a real bonus. We will absolutely return for a longer stay.

Overall, the cabin, facilities, etc. were great and I really enjoyed it. The drawback is visibility on the gravel drive surrounded by rocks. Adding to this, the driveway is unlighted and my wrong turn resulted in the loss of part of my bumper on one of the rocks (at only 5 mph!) A few strategically placed solar lights could have highlighted the rocks and the turnoff preventing this. My $300 cost me an extra $1100 in car repairs. If you go, and I still recommend you do--beware!

Super nice people run it, very friendly guests and good vibe. The room just smells really musty and old. It was very clean, well maintained and spacious. Outdoor area included fenced area for dogs, chairs, cornhole game.

What a great last-minute stay. I had here with my dog COCO the place was immaculate. The housekeeper was so nice and absolutely. Just love the little doggy area.

Fantastic staff, cute property, comfy room! Close to downtown (3 min drive.) Nice common area to chill out. Fenced in area for doggies. We'll def go out of our way to stay here again!

Stayed 2 nights. Pros: location, guaranteed parking spot right by your door, fridge, nice size room, 2 luggage racks and front desk person was friendly. Negatives: horrible bed, very thin worn out towels and TV could be larger.

This “motel” is very clean and comfortable. It was quite a bit less expensive than the other places 1 mile up the road, so I was not expecting much, but was very surprised and pleased. Fresh paint, comfy beds, big shower, no complaints, highly recommend

We only stayed for one night, we arrived late and they made late check in very easy! It was a safe, convenient location to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We would’ve stayed another night but they were booked! I think pricing could be a little bit cheaper but with it being such a popular touristy area, we get it. Would definitely stay again! Recommend it to anyone for a quick stay or even a longer stay as long as you’re okay with just a microwave and mini fridge. Everything was very clean!

The location was perfect, a ~6 minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor. Very nice grounds, quiet and a very clean room. The bed was firm, and the shower was hot. Grace, the gal at the desk was amazing! She gave us excellent insight to the area and was just a gem. She was so accommodating, when we asked for an extra blanket, instead of burning up all the propane, she just nailed it and gave us two! She was so gracious and helpful. Our room was a bit old and rustic but with a hot shower, firm bed, a mini fridge to hold my beer- it was perfect for us. For all the dog lovers, there was a nice fenced-in area for your paws and with chairs for you to sit and watch. Thank you, Grace!

We stayed in one of the cabins- was not aware that to get ice or anything from the office, you need to cross a fairly busy street. Our door to the cabin did not latch, once locked it could be pushed open. The bathroom was dingy, the shower was dirty, the dirty water from the sides was pooled down at the bottom and I needed to rinse it out before getting in. Was glad when our stay was done.

This is the absolute worst lodging! It is an overpriced dump that is grossly misrepresented online. I wish I could give zero stars because they don’t deserve even one! I booked a cabin for my honeymoon for 3 days, but upon arrival, was told all the cabins were full so I had a small room in a dingy, bug-infested, moldy, musty, uncomfortable motel. When I saw the horrible condition of my room, I did NOT want to stay here & asked for a refund to find another hotel. The desk clerk was rude, refused a refund, and not helpful. I went to another reputable hotel but still had to pay this place the price of a night’s stay plus taxes & fees! Avoid this place!!!

Very convenient parking next to the main road to the Acadia National Park. Big bathroom. A bit of a moldy smell in the room but the room was very clean otherwise. Good value for money.

I really like supporting small motels but this one was rough and for the price, it was bad. The room smelled like mold, the carpet was just disgusting and the bed was so uncomfortable. The grounds were so nice, we loved the dog park area but I would never stay here based on the carpet and bed.

Only a 3 hour check-in window. I wasn’t going to make it on time so they left the room open with the key inside. Little creepy but fine. I got there at 7:30pm. I pulled the covers back on the bed…so much hair. Also all over the blanket. I ran out to the closest wal-mart and bought some cheap bedding and a pillow. There were also dead bugs around the room and I killed a cockroach. I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular, but for $250 a night it should have been cleaner.

Everything was great about this place except the beds. Room 7 & 8 it was like sleeping on a box spring mattress. Unfortunately, the office had already closed so I was not able to ask for blankets or another room. I did make a comment to the staff the next day and she said it was under new management and hopefully the mattresses would be changed out by next season.

The room was clean and comfortable. I was a bit surprised to be told my room was unlocked, with the key inside. Also no safety locks(only doorknob lock). Being right next to a major road, would have liked the extra security. Odd floor chair, almost looked like a gaming chair crossed with a recliner...very uncomfortable. We were only there one night. Large refrigerator, kitchen sink and microwave would be great for someone staying longer.

Seth was the Manager-in-attendance when I called early to confirm arrival and when I arrived. He was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We rented Cabins #1 and #3. Number 1 was designed better than #3 in several ways that made it more comfortable and user friendly, however the bathrooms and showers are VERY small and tight-fitting. #3 also had miss-fitting and miss-aligned front and shower doors and a shelf above the too-high kitchen counter that is dangerous. Both cabins had power appliances connected to a power strip but, in #3, the appliances were on the upper shelf and so the cords did not reach the power strip and hung in the air under the counter -- very unsafe. Also in #3, the bed was pretty unsubstantial and not-at-all firm.

Very average place. Hard on the highway, noisy. Our room was closest to the road and we had to park behind the cabin area. It was clean and OK to stay in but not worth the price we paid for it

The motel room was clean and comfortable. The bed could use a mattress topper and it would have been great! My husband said he could feel springs in his back during the night. It was a good location to go to Acadia and the restaurant on the bay was a really nice place to eat!

Perfect location for visiting Acadia! Owners are super nice, great advice for park, allowed early checkin. Place is dog friendly too!!! King size bed either was ancient or just the boxspring because it squeaked and we felt a couple springs when we rolled over. 😂. Ask for room that has the newest bed. I would stay here again though. Reasonably priced. Did I say dog friendly?!😊

We had a great experience with Sean, the owner of Gallaghers travels. When our motel room had some issues, he quickly upgraded us to a beautiful cabin. The upgrade made our stay even more enjoyable and we were impressed with Sean's prompt and helpful service. Overall, we had a fantastic time on our trip and it was great to have such a gracious host in Sean. Highly recommend Gallaghers travels for anyone looking for a great vacation experience.

Check-in begins at 330pm and not one second before. We returned to the hotel at 315 thinking someone would be in the office but no one showed up until exactly 330pm.

The location was perfect, a ~6 minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor. Very nice grounds, quiet and a very clean room. The bed was firm, and the shower was hot. Grace, the gal at the desk was amazing! She gave us excellent insight to the area and was just a gem. She was so accommodating, when we asked for an extra blanket, instead of burning up all the propane, she just nailed it and gave us two! She was so gracious and helpful. Our room was a bit old and rustic but with a hot shower, firm bed, a mini fridge to hold my beer- it was perfect for us. For all the dog lovers, there was a nice fenced-in area for your paws and with chairs for you to sit and watch. Thank you, Grace!

This is the absolute worst lodging! It is an overpriced dump that is grossly misrepresented online. I wish I could give zero stars because they don’t deserve even one! I booked a cabin for my honeymoon for 3 days, but upon arrival, was told all the cabins were full so I had a small room in a dingy, bug-infested, moldy, musty, uncomfortable motel. When I saw the horrible condition of my room, I did NOT want to stay here & asked for a refund to find another hotel. The desk clerk was rude, refused a refund, and not helpful. I went to another reputable hotel but still had to pay this place the price of a night’s stay plus taxes & fees! Avoid this place!!!

We had an issue with a different place and needed one additional night in this area. Gallaher had one open cabin. We actually liked this place better than our original place. The cabins were clean and spacious. The owner was incredibly helpful. I wish we had booked this place originally. We would definitely stay here again.

Allowed us to check in a bit early to unload luggage and go to Bar Harbor after our drive. Front desk guy from Philly was extremely helpful in making recommendations for meals & sightseeing. Easy parking at our doorstep.

Where do we start … first there is no phone number to contact this hotel! we got there and the office had put a note on the office door saying our cabin number and that the keys are in there and it’s opens. Mind you it’s about 10:30pm, as we approached the cabin we noticed people were already in the room and drunk. We eventually got ahold of someone who just told us to go to the cabin next door. The next evening as we came back to our cabin there was a couple trying to get into our cabin because they were told that was their cabin and the keys are in the cabin and it’s unlocked! So once again we had to try and get ahold of someone and after we did they basically said they were sorry and going to refund us 150.00 for our stay, which as you guessed NEVER happened! Best part is on the second night I locked myself out of cabin (because the locks there fail) and I called and they told me to just walk into the office which was unlocked and go around the corner and get my spare key - which I was surprised cause every single room and cabin keys were just there for anyone to take! This is a terrible unsafe location and if I could give a zero star I would! Be careful and you been warned!

We only stayed for one night, we arrived late and they made late check in very easy! It was a safe, convenient location to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We would’ve stayed another night but they were booked! I think pricing could be a little bit cheaper but with it being such a popular touristy area, we get it. Would definitely stay again! Recommend it to anyone for a quick stay or even a longer stay as long as you’re okay with just a microwave and mini fridge. Everything was very clean!

We loved this sweet little motel! Just a short drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor, but quiet, clean, and comfortable. We were even able to add an extra day to our stay! Highly recommend!

Staff was friendly and helpful with notifications prior to check in and with suggestions for dining and activities in the area. The location was close to entrance of Acadia National Park, but not in the hustle and crowds of Bar Harbor - yet an easy drive to get to Bar Harbor. Room was large at the Motel portion. The king size mattress needs to be replaced as it is worn out, but still better than what I sleep on when camping. Quiet location with an easy on/off of the main road leading to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Gallagher’s Travels Bar Harbor Motel & Cabins is a delightful place to stay! Hotel staff couldn’t have been any nicer. Our cabin was just the right size for the two of us and our dog. We were able to pull up next to our cabin to unload our stuff. Comfortable bed and pillows to sink into after a long day of travel and exploration. Water pressure in the shower was spot on. The retro fridge was perfect for holding breakfast items. Extra toiletries (and coffee packs!) available in the office any time. Gravel road behind the motel provided a neat area to walk our dog without fear of heavy traffic zooming past. This was just the place we needed to land during our stay in Bar Harbor!

I liked that it is family owned and that Sean Gallagher, the owner, treated us like old friends. He gave us recommendations that made us feel connected to the local hangouts and community. That is what we look for, a way in to a local place. He gave us that. Well done!

The location was great! It was closed to Acadia National Park. The room was clean but very basic. There was no cups in the room. The cabin was also in need of some upgrades. It was overpriced in my opinion

Un posto davvero carino, check in velocissimo, staff davvero gentile (il ragazzo che ci ha accolte all’arrivo è’ simpatico e molto cortese, ci ha anche suggerito luoghi dove cenare e da vedere), cabine confortevoli e vicine alla cittadina di Bar Harbor. Unico appunto da fare: frigorifero rumoroso.

Everything was great about this place except the beds. Room 7 & 8 it was like sleeping on a box spring mattress. Unfortunately, the office had already closed so I was not able to ask for blankets or another room. I did make a comment to the staff the next day and she said it was under new management and hopefully the mattresses would be changed out by next season.

Stayed 2 nights. Pros: location, guaranteed parking spot right by your door, fridge, nice size room, 2 luggage racks and front desk person was friendly. Negatives: horrible bed, very thin worn out towels and TV could be larger.
