Hotel staff very helpful in giving directions on how to find them (they sent emails and texts). Hotel is in a pedestrian zone so you need to let hotel know when close by (call them) so they can lower a bollard so you can drive into the short street. A staff member came onto the street to show us where to turn into the hotel because hotel name not well-marked. Room felt like being in an Italian villa. Well-appointed and close to old town. Had to pay extra to park in their courtyard but this is totally worth the expense because is convenient and car was secure. Breakfast basic but OK. Best part was the warmth and hospitality of the staff - made you feel like family.

Un séjour merveilleux dans un vrai palais de la Renaissance. Propriétaire d'une amabilité rare et d'une grande courtoisie. Le palais est splendide et notre suite était digne d'un palace de luxe, tout en offrant une plongée dans l'histoire et l'histoire de l'art. Parking au pied d'un Hercule et d'un merveilleux jardin au cœur de Padoue. N'hésitez plus et choisissez ce lieu enchanteur. Pour couronner le tout, nous avons eu un excellent petit déjeuner complet, avec un service personnalisé.

what a charming palazzo. I love the elegant vintage vibe. The dining room is old fashioned (in the best way) the internal courtyard statue is incredible, the garden is petite but pretty. Easy walking distance from everything. I think I booked the smallest room but it was still quite large. What a wonderful place.

Very clean, staff was helpful, nice private garden to walk in, lots of private space. A little difficult to find initially, when we walked up, but that was figured out quickly. Will stay here again.

This hotel has a really wow factor. We walked about 15 min from the train station and when Google map said we arrived, we could not see it. Our fault – we should have read the arrival instructions the hotel sent to us before the arrival. It is an old villa/palace situated on a quiet street in a quiet town that has much to offer to tourists interested in art, history, and architecture. Behind the tall entrance doors, there is a large courtyard that has a towering statue of Heracles in the middle. Our Suite Ercole was humongous, and nicely decorated, with a huge, comfortable bed, a big old-fashioned bathroom, and had efficient AC unit. Excellent service and breakfast.

Unique and authentic 16th century palace built by Marco Mantua Benavides, a prominent legal scholar, polymath, and art patron at Padua University. Huge 9-ft statue of Hercules by Ammannati (nonetheless!) dominates the courtyard. Private garden provides a rare retreat .Royal size (1000-1500 ft2 ) rooms beautifully and tastefully appointed and decorated. Fantastic location. Helpful & knowledgeable staff. In summary, a true gem and great value for the price charged!

This was an unexpected treasure. Right next door to the Scrovegni Chapel and walking distance to the train station and nearly every thing else. Amazing courtyard and garden, and very helpful staff. We only stayed one night and wished we had stayed longer. Why stay anywhere else when in Padova!

Staying at Mantua Benavides was the best decision we made in Padova. The place was gorgeous. The room was enormous. Comfortable bed. A large interesting garden and an important sculpture on the grounds. I felt like renaissance nobility. The staff was super-helpful with restaurants, taxis, and general questions. Everything in Padova is exactly a 14-min walk from Palazzo Mantua Benavides. I would stay here again anytime. A lovely 4 days!

We were amazed by our room and the property. When we entered through the gate in the entryway, we were transported into an oasis of beauty and elegance, including a 500 year-old statue of Hercules and a private park. The room was huge, with a vaulted ceiling and comfy beds. We loved everything about it.

We were in the Verde Suite, which was gigantic but comfortable. The bed in particular was a delight to sleep on. The maids came every day around 1:00 and left us with two large bottles of mineral water after they cleaned up our messes. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful.

I only stayed here for one night so didn't get to fully enjoy this lovely accommodation. I'd definitely recommend here, especially if you're staying a few nights. The staff were very kind and helpful, they also looked after my bags so I could explore Padua without my luggage the following day. The room is a perfect mix of old and new. While it still looks aesthetically old, the facilities feel like they're recently renovated. I was amazed at how quiet my room was. Having come from Vicenza (the quietest town I visited) I was surprised to say that this was the quietest night I had on my travels! The location is very close to the station and only a few minutes from the Scrovegni Chapel.

All staff members are very friendly and accommodating. This place has its own personality. Nice entrance gate, colorful stained glass archway leading to the courtyard, and a small garden behind the building. The room is clean with antique bed side end tables, and a sitting area for relaxation. The Scrovegni Chapel is within a short walking distance. I had a very pleasant stay and will definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Elegant and spacious suite that was warm and welcoming in damp and chilly January. The Palazzo is ideally situated for the museums, and for the centre of the city - everything is within walking distance. The staff were helpful with arrangements and it was easy to access the building out of hours. Giotto's frescoes are just next door, and there is a great selection of restaurants nearby. We particularly enjoyed UVA. The centre of Venice is only 30 mins away by train, so would be a great base for visiting. All in all, we had a great holiday in lovely surroundings!

The Palazzo is beautiful! The room was very very large and comfortable. The bathroom is modern. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Be aware that the equisite inlaid wood floor is very squeaky.

Amazing place to stay - a palazzo in the centre of Padua and close to most local attractions. The suite of rooms I had was clean and very spacious with a modern bathroom. Also, there’s a giant statue in the courtyard. Would stay here again.

Hotel staff very helpful in giving directions on how to find them (they sent emails and texts). Hotel is in a pedestrian zone so you need to let hotel know when close by (call them) so they can lower a bollard so you can drive into the short street. A staff member came onto the street to show us where to turn into the hotel because hotel name not well-marked. Room felt like being in an Italian villa. Well-appointed and close to old town. Had to pay extra to park in their courtyard but this is totally worth the expense because is convenient and car was secure. Breakfast basic but OK. Best part was the warmth and hospitality of the staff - made you feel like family.

Very clean, staff was helpful, nice private garden to walk in, lots of private space. A little difficult to find initially, when we walked up, but that was figured out quickly. Will stay here again.

Elegant and spacious suite that was warm and welcoming in damp and chilly January. The Palazzo is ideally situated for the museums, and for the centre of the city - everything is within walking distance. The staff were helpful with arrangements and it was easy to access the building out of hours. Giotto's frescoes are just next door, and there is a great selection of restaurants nearby. We particularly enjoyed UVA. The centre of Venice is only 30 mins away by train, so would be a great base for visiting. All in all, we had a great holiday in lovely surroundings!

I only stayed here for one night so didn't get to fully enjoy this lovely accommodation. I'd definitely recommend here, especially if you're staying a few nights. The staff were very kind and helpful, they also looked after my bags so I could explore Padua without my luggage the following day. The room is a perfect mix of old and new. While it still looks aesthetically old, the facilities feel like they're recently renovated. I was amazed at how quiet my room was. Having come from Vicenza (the quietest town I visited) I was surprised to say that this was the quietest night I had on my travels! The location is very close to the station and only a few minutes from the Scrovegni Chapel.

Un endroit absolument magnifique parfaitement situé en lisière de la zone piétonne. Un cadre magnifique, de très belles chambres spacieuses et bien équipées. Malheureusement cet établissement ne dispose d’aucun service de réception. Aussi après avoir réservé, vous recevez une confirmation vous indiquant que les horaires d’arrivée sont limités de 15:30 à 19:30. Impossible d’arriver après. Pour un Hotel c’est stupéfiant !! Arrivant plus tard nous avons du passer 10 coups de téléphones à l’hotel 24h avant, pour qu’une dame accepte finalement de nous ouvrir à 22:00. Je tiens à dire aussi que le service client de hôtel.com a été nul sur ce sujet et a été incapable de nous aider. Staying at Mantua Benavides was the best decision we made in Padova. The place was gorgeous. The room was enormous. Comfortable bed. A large interesting garden and an important sculpture on the grounds. I felt like renaissance nobility. The staff was super-helpful with restaurants, taxis, and general questions. Everything in Padova is exactly a 14-min walk from Palazzo Mantua Benavides. I would stay here again anytime. A lovely 4 days!

It's actually a palace, with huge rooms. Very impressed. Rooms are clean and comfortable. It's walkable 10m from the train station and the city centre. Next door to the main attraction in padua.

This was an unexpected treasure. Right next door to the Scrovegni Chapel and walking distance to the train station and nearly every thing else. Amazing courtyard and garden, and very helpful staff. We only stayed one night and wished we had stayed longer. Why stay anywhere else when in Padova!

This property is lovely and quiet. We stayed 2 nights in late October. The room was extremely large and comfortable. We found the property just a bit difficult to find because it is located in a very small plaza and set back under a covered entrada behind very large, wooden and glass doors. A quick phone call and someone greeted us promptly. But its the location that makes it special. The one and only suggestion for improvement would be a full length mirror in the room. 5 stars. Padova is a beautiful town. If you enjoy shopping this town is good for very nice clothing. Small independent shops as well as the usual big names.

We were in the Verde Suite, which was gigantic but comfortable. The bed in particular was a delight to sleep on. The maids came every day around 1:00 and left us with two large bottles of mineral water after they cleaned up our messes. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful.

Un séjour merveilleux dans un vrai palais de la Renaissance. Propriétaire d'une amabilité rare et d'une grande courtoisie. Le palais est splendide et notre suite était digne d'un palace de luxe, tout en offrant une plongée dans l'histoire et l'histoire de l'art. Parking au pied d'un Hercule et d'un merveilleux jardin au cœur de Padoue. N'hésitez plus et choisissez ce lieu enchanteur. Pour couronner le tout, nous avons eu un excellent petit déjeuner complet, avec un service personnalisé.

what a charming palazzo. I love the elegant vintage vibe. The dining room is old fashioned (in the best way) the internal courtyard statue is incredible, the garden is petite but pretty. Easy walking distance from everything. I think I booked the smallest room but it was still quite large. What a wonderful place.

The Palazzo is beautiful! The room was very very large and comfortable. The bathroom is modern. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Be aware that the equisite inlaid wood floor is very squeaky.

This hotel has a really wow factor. We walked about 15 min from the train station and when Google map said we arrived, we could not see it. Our fault – we should have read the arrival instructions the hotel sent to us before the arrival. It is an old villa/palace situated on a quiet street in a quiet town that has much to offer to tourists interested in art, history, and architecture. Behind the tall entrance doors, there is a large courtyard that has a towering statue of Heracles in the middle. Our Suite Ercole was humongous, and nicely decorated, with a huge, comfortable bed, a big old-fashioned bathroom, and had efficient AC unit. Excellent service and breakfast.

It’s difficult to locate the property as it’s not well signposted but that adds to the charm. Once you come inside it’s an oasis of calm and forgotten grandeur. I very much enjoyed smoking a cigar in the lovely garden with no one else there

We loved this 15th century palace with its grand entrance gates and sweeping courtyard with a “Giant Hercules gazing towards you as you enter. Our suite was spacious, well appointed and a welcome place in which to relax after wandering the university town of Padua. A large garden with lots of shady areas provided calm cool respite from the unseasonably hot weather. Breakfast, on the day we had it was generous and included dainty sandwiches served on pretty crockery, freshly cooked eggs on request and a fabulous moist cake, all served in a cool airy 1st floor space in the original building. Fascinated by the Palazzo’s history and that of the man who had it constructed, we visited an exhibition housing some of his art collection at the nearby Liviano Palace which was well worth the 3 euro entry fee. We visited Padua after a recommendation from an Italian working in the Bulgari Hotel in Tokyo, Japan who was born there. With lots to see and hear - there is a music school nearby and we were treated to arias and bassoon practise whilst nibbling delicious pizzette and sipping a cold beer in the cafe on the cobbled street below - Padua is a great place to visit and Palazzo Mantua Benavides is a great place to stay if you do.
