This is a really lovely, luxurious cottage. Wonderfully decorated with art, and plenty of books and DVDs making it feel like a real home from home. Plenty of room to dry all out wet weather gear after out walks in the rain! The Valley that the cottage is set in is beautiful, photos can't do it justice! So much to see, wonderful walks both from the door and a short drive. Will definitely be back to explore more of Exmoor!

An extremely well-equipped cottage. The utility/boot room, complete with washing machine and tumble drier, was particularly helpful, especially given the weather, which was dramatic! We hope to return soon.

This cottage is extremely cozy and comfortable with high quality furnishings, a well equipped kitchen and a great selection of books and DVDs. It is located in an extremely quiet valley with some beautiful walks from the door and further afield. The owners are on hand if anything is needed and are most accommodating but not the least bit intrusive. The area is stunning and I suspect we will be back!

Lovely cottage, beautiful deco, very friendly hosts. The cottage is fitted with everything you need, including dishwasher, washing machine, and is extremely cosy and homely. We were greeted with a cream tea, which was wonderful.

The Hayloft was outstanding, had everything you could possibly need, including fresh coffee, selection of teas and a cream tea on arrival! It was spotlessly clean and equipped to a very high standard throughout. Would not hesitate to recommend

We had such a lovely stay over Christmas. Very clean, very well equipped and laid out cottage (excellent DVD library). Location is lovely, remote and quiet but not far to drive to Porlock or Lynmouth, and so many lovely walks from the cottage, or just a short drive away.

This is a great base from which to explore Exmoor. If you're into walking (and I'm guessing you might well be) then there are some great walks direct from the cottage - no need to use the car. This year the Doone Valley was the highlight as it had been so dry that the actual valley was not muddy at all! Lots of local pubs, tea rooms and other places to visit.\r \r Inside the cottage everything is as you would want to find it. 2 king sized beds both with ensuite, a large lounge with woodburner, TV feels spacious. The kitchen is well-equipped generally and has a great table for 4 to sit and eat together. And a utlity area for muddy boots, dogs etc.\r \r The owners are friendly but not intrusive. The whole experience was really good and we will go again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hayloft in October. A lovely, well laid out cottage in a super location for Exmoor walks with our dogs. The cream tea, and dog bowls and treats were a nice touch. \r \r We found it clean, comfortable and well equipped and would certainly stay again.\r \r I unfortunately left a couple of items there when we departed, and Catherine very kindly posted them back to me.

The cottage was excellent and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The location was ideal for a walking holiday, being able to walk out from the cottage and also good for seeing the surrounding location. We would definitely recommend it and come again.

What a beautiful spot, nestling deep in the valley and so close to such a glorious coastline and the moor! The Hayloft was perfect, spotlessly clean and with every facility one could want. John and Catherine were extremely friendly and welcoming and we had a fantastic week.

The location is lovely and the scenery beautiful even in January. The Hayloft is quietly tucked away in a stunning valley but not too far from the main top road which is accessed on a good if narrow road. There are lots of passing points. The property is in between Porlock and Lynton which are both worth a visit. The property was spotless and a cream tea on arrival was very welcome. The owners are on site and are friendly and welcoming but leave you to get on with your holiday which was great. Also the two bedrooms are of equal size with lovely bathrooms and having a dog we were grateful for a well equipped boot room.

The owners could not have done more to make us welcome, cream tea and a quick response to any request. Ace place.\r Th Hayloft is in a "Dark Skies" location so do go outside on a cloudless night and experience a star filled sky like you may never have seen before.\r For a special and interesting restaurant, The Vanilla Pod in Lynton is excellent, but small so you must book ahead.\r Many good walks without needing to drive a long way.

Fabulous well-appointed cottage in a wonderful location for getting away from it all. Everything was perfect and the most comfortable bed we have had staying away. We enjoyed some lovely walks in the area and a few trips further afield including Putsborough beach and Tarr Steps. It’s also in a dark skies area if you enjoy stargazing!

We loved our stay at this beautiful location. From the time of start of booking our visit ran smoothly, communication was excellent. The Hayloft is a perfect place to stay,to get away from it all. Accommodation was excellent, furnished with everything you need. Very friendly owners, and lovely welcome.\r Beauty spots easily reached from here.\r We loved our visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

A perfect location for walking, relaxation, yet close to an unspoilt stretch of coastline. John and Catherine were especially kind, wonderful hosts. The accommodation provided everything we could wish for. We will certainly return.

Everything was of the highest quality.\r The directions to the property were extremely helpful so we were prepared for the rather narrow roads.\r \r An enjoyable stay. We particularly liked Porlock Weir and the meal we Had at the local hotel.

The owners of this property have made it an ideal 'getaway '. Everything was as described , the location is wonderful and amazingly quiet. We also appreciated the clear guidance for arrival and the tip to ignore the sat nav. Another thoughtful inclusion were the OS map extracts , which we took out when walking. It was a very windy period when we stayed which affected the TV reception so we were glad of the good wifi signal which enabled us to watch programmes on an iPad.
The owners of this property have made it an ideal 'getaway '. Everything was as described , the location is wonderful and amazingly quiet. We also appreciated the clear guidance for arrival and the tip to ignore the sat nav. Another thoughtful inclusion were the OS map extracts , which we took out when walking. It was a very windy period when we stayed which affected the TV reception so we were glad of the good wifi signal which enabled us to watch programmes on an iPad.

The cottage was in a lovely location with walks straight from the door, ideal if you have dogs with you. The owners were friendly and helpful but not intrusive.\r A yummy cream tea awaited our arrival.

Great accommodation with everything you need and very tastefully furnished throughout. The owners get the blend right in a mix of friendliness whilst absolutely respecting your privacy...a rare skill. Walking straight from the accommodation was a bonus and, despite the very steep hills, there's some good cycling to be had too. Nearest shops are in Lynton or Porlock (about 15/20 mins by car) where there are also restaurants and pubs etc. Great place to stay and sure we will return.

What a beautiful spot, nestling deep in the valley and so close to such a glorious coastline and the moor! The Hayloft was perfect, spotlessly clean and with every facility one could want. John and Catherine were extremely friendly and welcoming and we had a fantastic week.

The location is lovely and the scenery beautiful even in January. The Hayloft is quietly tucked away in a stunning valley but not too far from the main top road which is accessed on a good if narrow road. There are lots of passing points. The property is in between Porlock and Lynton which are both worth a visit. The property was spotless and a cream tea on arrival was very welcome. The owners are on site and are friendly and welcoming but leave you to get on with your holiday which was great. Also the two bedrooms are of equal size with lovely bathrooms and having a dog we were grateful for a well equipped boot room.

We had such a lovely stay over Christmas. Very clean, very well equipped and laid out cottage (excellent DVD library). Location is lovely, remote and quiet but not far to drive to Porlock or Lynmouth, and so many lovely walks from the cottage, or just a short drive away.

The owners could not have done more to make us welcome, cream tea and a quick response to any request. Ace place.\r Th Hayloft is in a "Dark Skies" location so do go outside on a cloudless night and experience a star filled sky like you may never have seen before.\r For a special and interesting restaurant, The Vanilla Pod in Lynton is excellent, but small so you must book ahead.\r Many good walks without needing to drive a long way.

Beautiful tranquil location, excellently appointed accomodation. Friendly hosts. Great walks from the door in the Doone Valley. Also not far away great walking in Horner Woods, Woody Bay/Heddon's Mouth, Valley of the Rocks and the Brendon Valley to Watersmeet.

The cottage was excellent and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The location was ideal for a walking holiday, being able to walk out from the cottage and also good for seeing the surrounding location. We would definitely recommend it and come again.

Lovely cottage, beautiful deco, very friendly hosts. The cottage is fitted with everything you need, including dishwasher, washing machine, and is extremely cosy and homely. We were greeted with a cream tea, which was wonderful.

Beautifully restored hayloft with gorgeous surroundings. A wonderful warm home to return to each day after a long day of walking. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly and greeted us with a delicious cream tea to start our week's stay. Spectacular location with many areas to explore by walking or by car. We were absolutely thrilled with our week holiday. We loved eating at the Blue Ball Inn. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the Hayloft in October. A lovely, well laid out cottage in a super location for Exmoor walks with our dogs. The cream tea, and dog bowls and treats were a nice touch. \r \r We found it clean, comfortable and well equipped and would certainly stay again.\r \r I unfortunately left a couple of items there when we departed, and Catherine very kindly posted them back to me.

Everything was of the highest quality.\r The directions to the property were extremely helpful so we were prepared for the rather narrow roads.\r \r An enjoyable stay. We particularly liked Porlock Weir and the meal we Had at the local hotel.

We did a few walks all of which are truly beautiful even in November.\r Tar Steps\r Lynmouth to Watersmeet\r Wistlandpound Reservoir \r \r The Rising Sun pub in Lynmouth serves very good food and the landlord made us feel welcome and made space for my two large Greyhounds.

A really lovely cottage fully equipped with all you could need in a wonderful setting. A fabulous base for walking. The welcome pack of scones, jam and cream, milk in the fridge was very welcome and thoughtful. This was a wonderful place to stay, highly recommended. Thank you.

This really ticked all the boxes. Good location for walking and very tranquil . Great attention to detail, and particularly comfortable beds. The dogs appreciated the dog biscuits and we liked the scones. We could not think of anything missing, and there were clear guides on how everything worked. I expect we will be back before too long.
