This is fun and quirky place. Definitely not your chain out of the box hotel! Cool antique furnishings! I only wish there had been a show the night I was there!

We’ve stayed here before and came back because we were happy with our stay. It is an older hotel that is very old-fashioned. The floors slope here and there. But you can’t beat the flavor and ambience of this place. There is a tavern connected that serves great food and drinks. The service is impeccable. Totally loved staying here!

Great historical hotel in downtown Eureka! Free parking right beside the hotel and homeless are everywhere! Nothing the hotel can do about it but I wasn’t aware of the abundance of the homeless. However, the hotel room so nice, comfortable beds, but you will hear everything outside. Great value and would stay here again!

We liked the look of the building. Went to all the floors and loved the decor. There was a dance the night we stayed. Ticket taker set up literally outside our door. That was kinda weird. Party and decorations in our hallway was fun. Music didn’t bother us at all. Old feel was cool. With that being said no air conditioning no fridge no microwave and the furniture is of course old to go with the vibe. Location not the greatest. You’re across from homeless shelter type situation. Didn’t have any issues with that. There was commotion in the morning with yelling and emergency services taking someone away. If you dont mind city sounds and like history feel this is a cool place. If you’re looking for luxury with all the bells and whistles I would say maybe not. For the price I think I was expecting more.

This hotel is beautiful and very nostalgic and the room we stayed in was dog friendly and decorated nicely. I received 3 emails from them asking me to call before I arrive to let them know what time we would be there and also to make a reservation in one of their 2 restaurants. I called to make dining reservation and it was a message saying only reservations could be made for 6 or more people - so we were only 2 so didn't make a reservation. Then when I called to let them know when we would be checking in, I was told the main restaurant was closed and that there was a live band playing until ? It was raining hard and this made it very difficult for us. We ended up getting In and Out! Not sure how long the band played - we were on the 3rd floor, and did not really hear it (the band was actually really good!) Room was comfortable and they offer a continental breakfast in the morning. All and all it worked out.

Everything about this historic property was above and beyond our expectations. Delightful staff, and though we were there for a special event, the live music and great drinks topped the evening. We will be back soon!

The hotel is historic and well preserved. The bed was comfortable with nice linens and pillows. In the morning there was pastries, fruit, yogurt and hot drinks. Staff was friendly and helpful. I forgot my ipad at the hotel and Vicki called me to let me know. They put it in a secure place until I came to retrieve it.

We arrived to the property and noticed vagrants and drug deals being done in the park that was adjacent to the parking lot. The young guy checking in was very nice but told us hotel staff was on site only 3pm to 9pm and we were given a number to call if there were any problems. No security other than given a code to get into the hotel, it seemed the homeless also had the code. Homeless were smoking outside the front entrance. On our way to the room a strong scent of mold was noticed, even more when we reached the room. I think great effort was made with this hotel but it wasn't enough to combat the feeling of not being safe. The windows provided no privacy from the noise of the streets as well as a rooftop right outside our window. We booked the hotel for 2 nights at 230 per night and this was an unexpected disappointment. We did not stay and decided not to stay. We found another hotel-Holiday Inn Express that was more secure.

Very clean hotel and room. Very friendly staff. Very charming hotel. With a clean feel of era long passed. Gallagher Bar downstairs had good food and friendly staff. Very convenient since eating in the area is quite limited.

Historic location for an inn. The staff were very nice and helpful but the property was run down with no real amenities. The beds were very comfortable but the rooms were worn. The shower was a cheap plastic with mold and a door that would not stay closed. Everything else was very tired looking. The lobby was Victorian but very dark and looked like a dusty parlor. Breakfast was very meager with a sign to only take 1 . For the high price, I was expecting much more.

This was a terrible experience. The place smelled so moldy that my aunt and I didn’t feel safe staying. The woman at the front desk was very rude and refused to give me her name or any refund. I will be disputing the charges and contacting the management as well as the local BBB.

Check in was fast and easy. Our room was very clean and inviting. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Was a very different feel from most hotels that feel very sterile. The Inn at 2nd & C was very welcoming and homey feeling. Will most definitely keep this place as top choice for future visits.

The property is quirky like Victorian old homes are. Beautiful velvet furniture and dark ornate woodwork. Interesting artwork and fun spaces. The location is great for walking to Old Town Eureka, Restaurants, and bars. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good. The room was clean and spacious. We were in one of the deluxe queen rooms.

Very quaint. Loved the friendly and helpful staff. Good to note there is no central cooling or heating, so we left windows open for circulation. Some street noise during the night. Very walkable to some good restaurants.

Considering the architectural heritage and strong presence of artists in Eureka, the hotel lacked the charm, verve and pride it might have. Instead, it was dingy and in need of the attention of an artistic hand in fixing it up both inside and out to tastefully make it shine. Clearly the hotel (and town?) is struggling, but likely owned by someone with weak good taste and little imagination- it wouldn’t take much to make the place a stunner. Too, the energy of the staff reflected the state of the building - nearly every last receptionist ( and we encountered more than six in our 4 night stay) was downright unfriendly, unwelcoming and inhospitable- they seemed unhappy; it was uncanny considering these people are in a hospitality business. On a positive note, the architecture of the building itself was authentic and our room was spacious with high ceilings. We appreciated the white noise machine as the area was exceptionally noisy all night, most nights. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The headboard, matching night stands and other pieces of furniture were antique and beautiful. There was ample lighting and plenty of power outlets. The Wifi worked well. A nice touch was a press pot for coffee.

Wife and I spent 4 nights in Eureka and found this hotel. Great location, with walking distance to most of good restaurants in town. There are a fair amount of homeless or down on their luck around but we never had any problems. Probably common for California. The hotel is a classic old dame and our room was very unique but cozy. There are a fair amount of homeless or down on their luck around but we never had any problems. Probably common for California. The hotel is a classic old dame and our room was very unique but cozy. Second visit at this hotel and just love it! Lots of history, older rooms but lots of character and Antoinette at the desk is so helpful. The restaurant is outrageously great! Stay here over the Hampton Inn or Best Western. Take a stroll on the “boardwalk”, visit the fun shoppes down the street. Loved the yoga room!

We loved everything about this property. We stayed here because it was historic and it lived up to everything we hoped for. The staff was so nice and helpful and made us feel absolutely welcome. The restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced.

I got excellent recommendations for local restaurants and things to do and see from the staff. I will stay here afain happily!

We’ve stayed here before and came back because we were happy with our stay. It is an older hotel that is very old-fashioned. The floors slope here and there. But you can’t beat the flavor and ambience of this place. There is a tavern connected that serves great food and drinks. The service is impeccable. Totally loved staying here!

This was a terrible experience. The place smelled so moldy that my aunt and I didn’t feel safe staying. The woman at the front desk was very rude and refused to give me her name or any refund. I will be disputing the charges and contacting the management as well as the local BBB.

Considering the architectural heritage and strong presence of artists in Eureka, the hotel lacked the charm, verve and pride it might have. Instead, it was dingy and in need of the attention of an artistic hand in fixing it up both inside and out to tastefully make it shine. Clearly the hotel (and town?) is struggling, but likely owned by someone with weak good taste and little imagination- it wouldn’t take much to make the place a stunner. Too, the energy of the staff reflected the state of the building - nearly every last receptionist ( and we encountered more than six in our 4 night stay) was downright unfriendly, unwelcoming and inhospitable- they seemed unhappy; it was uncanny considering these people are in a hospitality business. On a positive note, the architecture of the building itself was authentic and our room was spacious with high ceilings. We appreciated the white noise machine as the area was exceptionally noisy all night, most nights. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The headboard, matching night stands and other pieces of furniture were antique and beautiful. There was ample lighting and plenty of power outlets. The Wifi worked well. A nice touch was a press pot for coffee.

Amazing little place with super friendly and helpful staff! Cat and dog friendly! The location was perfect for walking around and exploring the down town. Rooms where clean and the water pressure was great. Would absolutely stay here again!

We did not stay. There were many homeless people around. This part of town was terrible. Bars on the windows and doors. The area was deserted other than the homeless. We were on our 50th anniversary trip and the place scared us.

Great historical hotel in downtown Eureka! Free parking right beside the hotel and homeless are everywhere! Nothing the hotel can do about it but I wasn’t aware of the abundance of the homeless. However, the hotel room so nice, comfortable beds, but you will hear everything outside. Great value and would stay here again!

We liked the look of the building. Went to all the floors and loved the decor. There was a dance the night we stayed. Ticket taker set up literally outside our door. That was kinda weird. Party and decorations in our hallway was fun. Music didn’t bother us at all. Old feel was cool. With that being said no air conditioning no fridge no microwave and the furniture is of course old to go with the vibe. Location not the greatest. You’re across from homeless shelter type situation. Didn’t have any issues with that. There was commotion in the morning with yelling and emergency services taking someone away. If you dont mind city sounds and like history feel this is a cool place. If you’re looking for luxury with all the bells and whistles I would say maybe not. For the price I think I was expecting more.

The property is quirky like Victorian old homes are. Beautiful velvet furniture and dark ornate woodwork. Interesting artwork and fun spaces. The location is great for walking to Old Town Eureka, Restaurants, and bars. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was good. The room was clean and spacious. We were in one of the deluxe queen rooms.

This historic inn was incredible! Pet friendly and just a beautiful Victorian in. When you walk in, you can feel the history of this place. Walking the halls and stairs you feel like your in a time capsule. Everything was a site to behold. The tavern was great! Skilled bartender and awesome design. The cat art was avant garde but strangely cute in a very interesting way. Next time I'm in Humboldt county I'll be staying here.

Very clean hotel and room. Very friendly staff. Very charming hotel. With a clean feel of era long passed. Gallagher Bar downstairs had good food and friendly staff. Very convenient since eating in the area is quite limited.

The only real problem we had was with the restaurant. We had made a reservation and it was confirmed via text and email. When we got there, they said that they tried to call us, and let us know there was a party of 10 that came before us, and they could not accomodate until later. The bar was empty and the peeps behind were doing shots. The bartender said of course you can sit here and we will serve you. all was fine then, the restaurant blamed the whole situation on the front of the house saying that they did not have there books and should have not confirmed. But it was confirmed. All else was ok. Dark/ musty . but clean.

This hotel has the potential to be great but we had several issues. Our room did not have an AC so we had to sleep with the windows open. Sadly, the homeless shelter is directly across the street so we had to deal with yelling, cursing, dogs barking and other unmentionable activities all night. The walls where very thin so we were able to hear all the activities in the room next door and the room above us. There was no staff on sight after 9:00 PM and the building was locked after that time (required a physical key to enter). There was a great bar on-sight (Patsy Klines) with a great bartender (shout out to Josh) but it closed at 9PM during the week. Make sure you get a room with a shower as ours only had a large tub that my family had a challenging time getting in and out of. This set up is also difficult to manage with a family of four as there were no quick showers. Be aware that there is a pull out bed in the room but that bed was extremely uncomfortable for my two sons. Over all we had an average experience but would highly recommend a different location to stay when in Eureka.

My daughter’s room had no windows and no AC. A small fan was given to us. There was a ceiling fan but you couldn’t use it at night because the light was attached and would not turn off. Ice was always an issue to get. The breakfast is nothing to write home about. Our room had windows but at 2am the bars closed and people were drunk and loud outside.
