I hate leaving things like this but I think everyone would agree with me here when I say this. I pulled up in the car park and decided I would book a night there and then as it was in a gorgeous setting and a lovely day. Anyway as I was 2 hours away from Check in time I went for a walk, I then got a call from my mams care home saying she had taken a tumble and could I come straight away. This was at 2.15pm ( 15 mins past check in time) but I was still out on my walk and had not checked in. I went straight to the holly hill inn and explained my situation, I simply asked because I had booked through hotels.com and had not checked in yet if I could simply move my booking to another night maybe tomorrow and come back and I was told no! I explained again and said I am not asking for a refund but simply to switch the night stay for another so I wouldn’t lose out. To be told no! I spent over £100 for nothing and I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t just let me switch the night ( obviously like for like, so not a weekend) as I had not even got the key and entered the room! Not how I would treat my customers this much I know!
