The rooms are very large and newly renovated, very nice. Comfortable beds…great location, close to everything. It also has a big tiki hut that has barbecue grills, corn hole, connect the dots , Jenga so you don’t have to get stay in your room. Great place to stay I highly recommend it.

Love this place. A true gem. Property has been updated. Check in was friendly and fast. Room is huge! Sad we are only staying one night. They have a lovely pavilion with life size games. Great for families

Check in was smooth. Lobby very welcoming. The room is huge. Tv is small and far away from the bed. Fridge, microwave worked very well. Parking area is spacious and well lit. Outdoor entertainment is awesome! Cornhole, chess, benches, etc. Beds were not the most comfortable. Door locks felt flimsy, but I was not concerned for safety. Things in and around the room/hotel seem homemade, like built by handyman, and it adds a very nice touch. Everything felt sturdy and good, just also made out of real wood, not necessarily manufactured. High Springs is a nice little town.

This is a clean, quiet, very well maintained property, with large rooms, and comfortable, high quality beds. The large shaded outdoor sitting area is a bonus. The staff is courteous and always available. It's good to know individual owners are saving these better quality motor courts, and that this travel experience is being saved for the future. I highly recommend this property.

Great little spot with lots of outside seating for hanging out. They also have couple outside games in the picnic area. Rooms are very large and comfortable with a smart TV. Will be back.

First room we were booked in smelled like cigarettes. The smell was so bad we had to leave and ask for another room. After when we checked into the other room there were roaches all over the fridge and microwave and near the bed. Worst experience you can have. Didn’t even stay an hour there ended up leaving and checking out over the phone, wish we could have a refund. Ps(room 11 cigarette smell, and room 28 filled with roaches)

I have a Federally Certified Service dog. I called ahead. I was refused at first until I explained ADA and Federal Law. Then they wanted to charge me a $15 fee. I again explained ADA. They complied but put me in a wheelchair accessible room with a tile floor. It didn't look like it had been cleaned. The floor was filthy. The microwave was broken. These people need to educate themselves on ADA.

The staff at The Blue Gem were top notched individuals. They made check in and check out easy. As my stay coincided with the arrival of Hurricane Debby I left a day early. The hotel refunded me one day, which wasn't expected but very much appreciated. The room was somewhat updated, but the AC unit couldn't cool the room down well enough, even at night. I would recommend upgrading those units. Overall a nice place to stay.

Super cute motel and very convenient to locations. Loved the clean and spacious room. My only complaint was the AC didn’t seem to cool the large room off enough and was warm throughout the night. Probably the full sun coming through bathroom window during the day kept room from cooling. Advise to keep bath door shut during the day.

This motel had a 9.2 rating so I thought I'd try it. The welcome was great, parking was great and I felt safe traveling alone. The room had a distinct odor of maybe really old smoking room. They did a great job updating one of the old motels on this road but I know it's hard to get some of those smells out. Carpet was stained in a few spots and one of the bedspreads also was stained. Bathroom was very clean as were the sheets. Bed was comfy. No regular TV. It was all subscription services and if you didn't want to put your passwords in (which I didn't) there was nothing. Watched on my ipad... Would I give it a 9.2? No but an 8.4 yes.

The back side of the motel is on a slope so if you are staying there like I did you will have the front facing rooms on top of your room and you will hear people walking above you. Internet wasn’t working. Bed was great. Location is great.

This was an ideal stay for my partner and I's short trip. The only thing that was bothersome for us was that the doors have a gap from the ground so it gave wildlife easy access into our room. We ended up having to plug the gap with a towel for the duration of our stay.

Sketchy guy in the room next to us. Finally found out he was outside in his work truck with it running because his air in the room was not cooling. Couldn’t get anyone when we called the contact number. Real nice outdoor area(looks new). Remodeled but still looks old.

This is exactly what you want in a roadside motel. Updated and cute but still kitschy. Small property in a perfect location to walk downtown for a bite and then hit the springs and state parks in the morning.

Quick stay for the Gator Game. Nice room and comfortable bed. Be aware there really is not any restaurants around, so eat before coming to this town.

this is an older motel that has been renovated. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. They have an automatic door that you access on your phone. After we came in the manager, came and checked in on us and actually gave us the keys in case the door lock did not work later in the evening. This hotel was close to everything. We enjoyed our stay here no frills just a clean and comfortable room.

It’s honestly such a nice motel, right next to the springs. You can do no better than this place if you’re not trying to camp at Ginnie Springs. Just read the reviews. Great price.

We had a great stay. The room was huge and comfortable, the area was safe and quiet, and everything we needed was nearby.

They had the best bed I ever slept on. The room overall was very comfortable. The location was great. It would have been nice to know about snacks and drinks for breakfast. I didn't receive this information since I checked in virtually.

The Blue Gem was such a classic roadside inn- but with modern touches. Maria and Francisco were so good to us. When our TV wasn’t working the first day, they had it completely switched out the next morning so we had TV when it was storming that day. We also loved what my son called “The Bro Zone” a picnic area with yard games in front of the hotel. Also check out the Pink Flamingo Diner next door. It has great food, includes vegan dishes and a hidden golf course.

Quick stay for the Gator Game. Nice room and comfortable bed. Be aware there really is not any restaurants around, so eat before coming to this town.

The service was exceptional! The place was an old motel that had been remodeled. I liked it. It was a simple family owned motel. No frills. But they did offer snacks for breakfast.

Great location and value. Staff is friendly and attentive. Little extras like good coffee in the lobby, snacks, good ice machine and towels. The bed was a little too soft for me and the pillows a were too firm. My neck and back were sore after 2 nights.

The man at the front desk was very nice and friendly. The property looks clean on the surface, but the room had a strange odor. There was a dead cockroach behind the toilet in our room, my daughter and I were so tired we decided to stay. However, two love cockroaches had us packing and I checked out within an hour of checking in. The man at the counter offered us to stay in another room, and mentioned the property has an insect company and how the roaches are in the process of dying. I do understand, I’m a Floridian, but dying or not, we couldn’t take it. The property grounds look nice and the outdoor patio has cornhole, a large connect four game and a cute table with legos for children. The room was spotless, but the AC look dilapidated, that may explain the odor. I was told I’d get a full refund, I was told it’d be through Experian. I’m still waiting on the refund so hopefully it goes through.

10/10! I doubt you'll find a better or cuter motel to stay in. The listing to this place looked too good to be true but I figured we'd try it anyway. It was exactly as pictured. You can tell it was newly renovated very well. It was such a lovely place to stay and the lady who checked us in was very nice. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean. If we find ourselves back in this town we would stay here again. Unfortunately I didn't really take pictures until after the kids started unpacking their bags. I really wish I did.
