Loved the contactless check-in…really streamlined the process. Older but well kept and convenient to the highway without being noisy. Our room and bathroom were tight but had everything we needed and were comfy. We couldn’t get the WiFi to connect but we were ready to head to bed so I did what I needed using my mobile service.

The bedroom was clean and bedding was very comfortable. Microwave/refrigerator and good coffee 2 blocks from an eatery, The Cove,. Check in was unusual with a text communication. Lacks pop machine and an ice maker.

Arrived late so my key was left in the room. Thanks, I'm grateful for the accommodation. Site says office open till 9. No response from knocking on door or from phone calls/texts well before that time. No ice available. No vending machines. 1 very small trash can in room. It feels like they're not quite ready to open, but opened anyhow. Manager suggested The Cove restaurant is a great place for breakfast, so I assumed it was a breakfast restaurant, leaving only a pizza place and a gas station for dining choices in Naubinway. (The Cove is actually open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We never got to try it because they were closed for cleaning the grill during business hours.) The hotel custodial staff were very nice and friendly.

No staff on site,key was left in room. No problem with that. Room was clean and comfortable, basic only. Small fridge and microwave,no coffee in room or on site. No breakfast of any kind as office and exercise area/ hot tub were locked. Lack of a safety latch on the door was a concern,even though this is a safe area. Highly overpriced for what we got. Cable was good. Office was closed in the morning(11 am )when we left.

Description says laundry facilities, It Does Not! One of the main reasons we booked this hotel. We had to travel 22 miles to the town of Curtis, to find a laundromat. Never saw the front desk open. Upon arrival there was a note on the office door saying room assignment sent to your email. We received no such email, We found a worker doing laundry who told us our room number and that the room was unlocked and key was inside. We had to go get clean towels, shampoo, soap, toilet paper from person working in laundry room. No ice machine. No gym as stated in description.

As someone just looking for a clean room to stay the night this was perfect for me. It was a quaint room, tight bathroom, but definitely clean and comfortable. I didnt use any amentities or see any staff whatsoever, contactless checkin and out.

Lock on window was broken, the place smelled, no electrical outlets in bedrooms, felt very old and dirty. Hotel mgr said they would refund 1/2 of the amount we prepaid... never saw the refund! This is the first negative review I've ever given regarding travel and I've traveled extensively for work and recreation. I strongly advise DO NOT BOOK OR STAY AT THIS OLD PLACE.

This was a place to lay my head for a night to break up a long drive. It was a little rustic but clean. The space was small but maximized well. The absence of on site staff was a little disconcerting but they communicated check-in instructions clearly. I didn’t like how close to the highway it was, you could hear the semis flying by so loudly it felt like they were about crash through the room. It wasn’t anywhere I’d stay for multiple nights but as a way station in the UP it worked out.

Reasonable rates. Being somewhat picky but the flimsy, thin sheets seemed to stick to us, and unfortunately caused sleep interruptions. The outlets were too far away from the bedstand to plug in the CPAP. The bedside light was too short/small to be much good for reading. Otherwise - the bathroom was nice, towels were great, and generally an ok experience. It was our first time booking via Expedia and that was confusing and stressful. When we arrived at the property about 1-2 hours after booking, the office was closed and a sign said that we got a text with our room number and instructions. It wasn't until an hour later did we get the text.

We stayed here for one night on a road trip that took us through the upper peninsula of Michigan, which we really like. I wanted a place to stay that was between St. Ignace and Manistique, and this fit the bill. This property got excellent ratings and reviews, but I am not sure why. In my opinion the room was way overpriced for something that was only basic and not that comfortable. The beds were fine, but the other furnishings were pretty awful, no table, the desk was unusable and there was not even a chair to sit on, only an extremely uncomfortable sofa. There was no place in the room to put anything except one luggage rack, thank goodness at least for that. The bathroom also had no place to put anything, I balanced things on the tub, even the back of the toilet was not accessible, and no hair dryer. This is definitely a budget property but at a medium range price. We will not stay here again.

This is a roadside motel! Take that for what it is- we got a cozy, charming room with a comfortable bed that was clean, with hot water and a window AC unit. We did not get a room with a working tv, a hair dryer, fancy toiletries, or high water pressure. This is a cabin-themed hotel, not a standalone unit.

Had an issue checking in. Arrived at 4 pm and there was no staff on premises. Sign on the locked office door provided phone number to call for check in information but i could not get a cell connection around area (it happens in UP). Thankfully there was another lady checking in who had a connection and she called for her and my check in.

I love Adoba. They leave the key in the room. Then just text or email you which room is yours- no check in, just park and walk into your room. They do daily room cleaning if you want. Staff is very friendly, but you dont have to interact much if you dont want. The beds are crazy comfortable. I will say some of their rooms are just a bed, tv, maybe a chair, and a bathroom. Only some rooms have the smallest minifridge. I think theres a coffe maker in some(or all, im not sure) You will hear your neighbors, and the two years we stayed it was predominantly construction guys who commute up there and stay while working on the roads, so they all show up at like 5 or 6pm, hooting and holler outside(which is fine because theyre fixing the roads that got you there) and then they wake up at the crack of dawn, but they get out fast so no biggie. We love it here. It will be our 3rd year staying here in july 2025. Moofin fries has some of the best burgers and fish, its right next door. Beary Patch is 15min down the road and has amazing breakfast. Location is a 10/10 if youre exploring the UP.

Beary Patch is 15min down the road and has amazing breakfast. Location is a 10/10 if youre exploring the UP.

There was no one on duty when we arrived. Everything is done via text messages. I texted them with some questions several times, tried calling them (full mailbox) and finally was answered at 9:00pm. We requested a room change, and they did respond at 9:00 pm via phone call. The newer rooms are nice. If the customer service improves it will be a good place to stay. I don't know what was happening, as they didn't say. Nice dinner restaurant nearby. They don't have a breakfast option in the motel. No breakfast restaurants nearby in Naubinway, but there's one 10 miles away. There's a convenience gas station in Naubinway with food for purchase. All in all it's OK.

I chose to stay here as they allowed pets. I was in a cabin right on US 2. Trucks roared by all night. The cabin was comfortable enough. However the cabin had an odd smell and there is no heat. It got cold at night.

When in Naubinway visiting our son, we love staying at the Adoba. The people running it are great, the value is awesome. We appreciated having a fridge and microwave. We could walk to Moofinfries or Village Pizza for dinner. We even walked to the Marina (the northernmost part of Lake Michigan). I loved the beds - often, hotel beds are too hard or too soft - these were great. Overall, a good choice in the UP - we will continue to stay here when visiting.

I love Adoba. They leave the key in the room. Then just text or email you which room is yours- no check in, just park and walk into your room. They do daily room cleaning if you want. Staff is very friendly, but you dont have to interact much if you dont want. The beds are crazy comfortable. I will say some of their rooms are just a bed, tv, maybe a chair, and a bathroom. Only some rooms have the smallest minifridge. I think theres a coffe maker in some(or all, im not sure) You will hear your neighbors, and the two years we stayed it was predominantly construction guys who commute up there and stay while working on the roads, so they all show up at like 5 or 6pm, hooting and holler outside(which is fine because theyre fixing the roads that got you there) and then they wake up at the crack of dawn, but they get out fast so no biggie. Loved the contactless check-in…really streamlined the process. Older but well kept and convenient to the highway without being noisy. Our room and bathroom were tight but had everything we needed and were comfy. We couldn’t get the WiFi to connect but we were ready to head to bed so I did what I needed using my mobile service.

Just touring the UP. This was a great location to take a break for the night. Nearby was a quaint restaurant/bar with friendly people. The communication with the motel was great. Cleaning crew was friendly as well. Not a top of the line hotel but a moderately priced, clean and small room that fit our needs….refrig, coffee maker, microwave, tv and bed and bathroom!

Great spot to stop for some rest in a road trip. Rooms are cozy, cottage feeling, everything was clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. Walk across the street for some amazing fresh pasties. Will stay again.

Arrived late so my key was left in the room. Thanks, I'm grateful for the accommodation. Site says office open till 9. No response from knocking on door or from phone calls/texts well before that time. No ice available. No vending machines. 1 very small trash can in room. It feels like they're not quite ready to open, but opened anyhow. Manager suggested The Cove restaurant is a great place for breakfast, so I assumed it was a breakfast restaurant, leaving only a pizza place and a gas station for dining choices in Naubinway. (The Cove is actually open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We never got to try it because they were closed for cleaning the grill during business hours.) The hotel custodial staff were very nice and friendly.

Do you have a Tesla? There was a free destination charger here. It worked fantastic. We were so happy to charge our Tesla overnight. The motel was clean and fine and we had a good dinner at the bar nearby.

Communication was very good with the only/manager. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable. My only complaint was that there was not enough lighting. It was very dark, even in the bathroom--with the lights on. But we were just passing through and did get a good nights sleep. I would definitely call it rustic.

I'm not looking to blow up a small business - but I know I rely on reviews to know where I'll enjoy staying and where I won't. This is of course an old motor court style property that was renovated. The goal was obviously to keep costs down and therefore keep the price down - but maintenance and simple (but essential) amenities are an issue. In Unit #12 here are the issues I observed: shower valve handle loose w/ cover missing (making it difficult to adjust the hot/cold mix), sink cold water valve not letting water pressure through, no stopper or screen for sink drain, slow draining sink drain, air conditioner outlet should be a single, not a duplex (since the 2nd outlet is in-op, most likely due to the a/c unit taking the full capacity of the circuit), As far as amenities/convenience: desk has no lamp, there are no accessible outlets except by the sink (nothing by the beds, desk, etc. that aren't already in use). As far as my own preferences, it was surprising that a renovated property didn't do more to soundproof the rooms - every word, every movement in the units on either side can be heard (I used the A/C unit fan to drown it out). Also, hotels use white linens/towels and no-scent detergents for good reason. It shows guests things are clean, stains can be bleached, and everyone has a different tolerance level for scent. The tan sheets, grey towels, and heavily scented detergent used was not for me.
