Lava Spa Motel & RV

No hot water.

The Hotel is a nice place. Only issue was parking, there is not enough, even street parking was a no go. Ended up parking in the Hot springs parking lot next door. Lucky they did not tow me, as I did not see the tow away sign until the next morning.

Not enough parking

I liked the location, i liked that it had a jetted tub, kingsize bed and tv. I liked that it comes with a microwave and fridge. The bed was a little hard for me but they had nice pillows and blankets so it wasnt bad. The tub was nice but the jets stopped working after a few minutes and because the timer was still going ot started screaming in alarm so we had to manually turn it off.

Room was clean and neat. Perfect for 2. My only issue was going back to the hotel after visiting the hot springs and I wanted to take a shower. While i was in the shower the water turned ice cold after 5 minutes of being on , in the middle of my hair and body filled with soap. Very annoying!

Roofing nails everywhere , no continental breakfast , no coffee , tv didn't work and no discount for the inconvenience was offered

The room smelled like pee. There was a big stain on the very worn carpet. The walls needed patch wok and paint The "free wifi" was weak and sporadic. Not enough parking.The room did have a mini fridge and microwave, which was nice, The bed was comfortable. Overall the room was clean, except for the smell, but very worn. Room needed an refresh, new paint carpet, erc. Price was okay for what we got,

It's an older hotel that can use some spackle and some fresh paint. The room can also use some additional outlets in the since most were used up by the appliances - fridge, microwave, TV, and TV accessories. There is no coffee pot in the room and the front office doesn't open until 8:30 with coffee. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer. On the plus side, the rooms are spacious, good tv selection, hot showers and the beds are comfy. Also the hotel is conveniently located across the street from the famous Lava Hot Springs facility. The facilities manager was very accommodating and was able to help us in our late arrival to the motel. It's not fancy but it's suited our needs.

The 1st room was ok until we tried the jetted tub, which didn't work. We were undressed and filling the tub but the jets didn't work. I called the desk clerk and got dressed and she came and tried to get it to work, but it didn't so we had to change rooms, but tried the jetted tub there and it worked. The next morning I tried 3 times to get in the office for coffee but it was locked and not available, so we skipped morning coffee. The room was clean and suitable.

I enjoyed my stay here. Across the street from the hot pools. Pretty quiet and clean too.

I have stayed at the Lava Hot Springs Motel several times over the past four years and this stay will be the last. The bath tub was dirty, there was an ant trap on the floor and the towel bar was hanging out of the wall. The walls were also dirty and in need of paint. The veneer on the head board was coming off and all the furniture was well used and appears to have been purchased at a garage sale. It was a neat spot, but sadly, it's no longer cared for.

There was blood on the toilet seat, no outlet to plug or charge phones and alot of ice right outside the door, unsafe for walking. I'm assuming from the roof with drop with inadequate roofing or raingutter

The room had bugs all over the bathroom. More would appear over night. The room smelled awful. Like mold and cigarettes. The carpet was sticky and had stains all over the place. The walls had water damage. The bed itself had rust colored stains on the bed sheets. Most likely blood. The worst place I've ever stayed.

Bugs, actually killed one in the bed when I pulled the comforter down, urine on the toilet seat, went to get coffee the next morning in the “lobby”, door was locked, had to walk down the street and buy it. I’ve stayed in much nicer hotels for a lot less money. For what they charge the rooms should be updated and a whole lot nicer.

It’s an older property, so what we expected . The room was clean & cozy. Great walking path behind the property to walk your dog. Hot pools are right across the street. It would be nice if there was coffee in the room. I did see a coffee pot in the lobby, but we were on the road before the lobby opened; the diesel truck out front needed to warm up from 5:30am-6am, so we were awake!!

Was disappointed with the room. the bathroom door had a hole in it and the tub shower combo was dirty .. just need some big time TLC!!

The staff at the office was OK. But the room was terrible. It is so old and run down. The chairs had no cushion and were so stained that I would never sit on them. The bed is old and hard. Room smelled of pee. Shower was awful. Just a very old, gross room.

Not luxurious by any means but quite, charming and across the street from the hot pools. Easy stroll to all of main streets shops and restaurants. TV didn't work 😕 and bed could be replaced to add some comfort oh yeah the toilet never stopped running either 😆

It was very outdated. Only 2 outlets in the entire room, one is in the light fixture in the bathroom light. TV, fridge, coffee maker and an air freshener were plugged into the other outlet. Remote batteries were dead. Jets in the tub did not work, bottom of door was beat up and all the cold air came in, furniture scratched and beat up. For $175 a night, I would have expected a little more.

Just across from the public springs. Only complaint I have is the lack out outlets in the room. I had 1 outlet to charge my devices and all the others had appliances plugged in.

There are no outlets to plug anything in. No coffee maker!!! No lights above bed for reading.

Rooms are old.... walls have patches everywhere. TV was old and the satellite reception kept going out. If you want ice you have to hope the desk clerk is there to unlock the bin that has bagged ice. Light bulb was out on the nightstand light.... the doors don't have a deadbolt or Secondary locking Device. The only plus is that it's right by the springs within walking distance.

I love this motels proximity to the hot springs and the king bed is always nice. That being said, this motel feels pretty cheap. The walls are thin, the bathroom fan, heater remote, and nightstand light did not work. We had to clip the curtains together to get them to stay closed all the way. Also, the toilet seat was way smaller than the toilet despite it appearing like they just redid their bathroom. Overall I thought it was a good location and a decent stay for a motel, but not worth the price for what you get. Maybe stay at a more updated location for this price point.

Extremely close to the hot springs. With in walking distance of almost everthing. Room had a new mattress, which was comfortable. The room was quite run down, old carpets, cracked window, cracked walls, and next to no outlets to charge a phone.

Positives are being right across the hot springs pool, quiet, single level, well kept surroundings, instant good quality hot and cold water in the bathroom and responsive staff. Negatives include that its old, walls are peeling off, carpets are old, AC was too loud, TV didn't work, no in room coffee, outlets are not easily accessible to charge phones, bathrooms are small and parking is limited/tight. The parking lines need to be re-drawn to reduce dead space.

The front desk clerk was not helpful, for example I had to ask for the wi-fi password and it was taped to the front window, but he didn't tell you that. There is also a doorbell by the front desk to call for assistance, and he didn't say anything about that either so I had to yell to get his attention. Parking was difficult because the snow that had been plowed was in 3 huge piles in the parking lot so there were not many spaces available. The room was very clean and that was appreciated but we will not stay there again due to the service.

the beds are comfortable and it is located in a good spot. the property itself was clean enough. Our room was not cleaned very well (corners dirty and trash left in the ice bucket). The main concern I had was that I booked my stay a week ahead of time and even got a confirmation call yet on the day of they said they showed nothing in their system for me so I had to find another room even though I showed proof that it was booked. I stayed calm and nice about it since thankfully I was able to find a room in the town we were still in at the time an hour away. they offered nothing to compensate me for the inconvenience and stress of having to find another room and then I ended up being double charged. It was a bad experience and I never send in bad reviews.

Well, where do I start? First I tried to upgrade my room because I had another person joining for the trip. I called about 2 and a half weeks before my tay to make the changes. I was told the change was made, they even told me how much was added to the price of my reservation. I asked if I was going to get a confirmation or anything and the gentleman said no, but I definitely made the change. Well we got there to check in and the front desk attendant, said that the reservation wasn't updated and that they were full so I was stuck in the original room.... 3 grown adults on 1 queen bed..... They did have a rollaway bed he brought over, at no charge he said. Thankfully he didn't charge for it. I wouldn't buy that thing for $10. It was extremely old and beat up. Squeaky and not even resembling anything of any comfort. When we settled into the room, noticed there was trash under the bed from a previous guest. Makes me wonder what else didn't get cleaned. There was also a woman hair claw clip under there too. We went out for the evening and enjoyed the springs. We got back to a completely full lot with no parking so we had to park behind the property in the RV park. Upon our return to the room, we wanted to shower. When we turned the water on, there was no hot water. Luckily it got almost Luke warm so we were able to survive a quick rinse. The location of this place is probably the only good thing about it. Staff was friendly. Shops, restaurants and hot springs are within walking distance.

We arrived 20 minutes early for our check in and had to wait over an hour and a half to get the keys to our room. While we were in the waiting room, the boss actually screamed at his employee “WHAT THE F*CK IS WRONG WITH YOU” when she went to him for help. There were about 6-7 people waiting on their keys in the lobby when this happened and she was the only person helping with anything. Definitely made us feel unsafe in our stay and had to remind ourselves to lock the deadbolt.

I fully expected the conditions of this hotel to be lower quality. However, compared to the other much more expensive hotels in the area, I would say this was my favorite. It was very clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly! This will be my go to from now on

We got a message from the desk attendant at about 9 pm saying they would pre-register us. When we arrived at 10:30 pm the office was closed and we couldn’t get our room key. Apparently the office closed at 10:00 pm. We were not notified ahead of time that we needed to check in prior to 10 pm. There was a night bell to ring, but no one responded. We called the phone number from the earlier message and got no response. We continued trying to get a response until 11:00 and finally left. A few minutes after we left, the desk attendant returned our call and met us in the office to get us the key. We were then told we were lucky they didn’t give our room to someone else. Very poor communication!

From the moment I arrived the staff were friendly and happy to assist. The following day I had a problem with my hire car, the lady on the desk was more than helpful and went out of her way to assisted me to resolve the issue. Room was comfortable, great location within the town with free onsite parking & wi-fi.

Right on the Main Street, close to the hot pools and river float. Easy walking distance to several places to eat and shop if desired. Easy access back to the highway.

This property is right across from the hot pools in Lava, so location is prime. We had a huge leak in our room when we showered, enough that the carpet got sloshy. There were box elder bugs everywhere. There is no place to plug in USB cords for charging phones, watches, etc. The office doesn't open until 8:00 am so there was no coffee for the first couple of hours when we woke up. The air conditioner didn't work, it would kick on for a few seconds and then go off so it got very humid and hot in there.

Good location. You know what you are getting when you drive up. The bed is comfortable. The room is very close to the Lava Hot Springs. 2 minute walk.

Walking distance to the entire small town, including tubing rentals and the public hot springs. No private outdoor areas such as a covered porch or balcony outside room. Generous with extras like towels and ice, but staff must retrieve both for you. A good place if you're just looking for a place to sleep; the furniture is old, tubs are pretty bad looking. The office is sometimes open with coffee in the morning, but sometimes not. It depends upon staffing. Great hiking path behind the facility next to the RV area, but there are "KEEP OUT" and No Trespassing signs, so not sure if guests are really welcome or who actually owns the trail. Would be good to find out before walking, but the trail is great because it leads to a rope down to a couple free hot springs.
