The Firebrand is a great place to stay location wise. Its location is walkable to all the restaurants, shops and bars in Whitefish. The hotels first floor is a great gathering place with its very nice lobby, bar and restaurant. The roof top seating area was a great place for us to take an after dinner drink and watch the sunset around fire pits. The negatives on the property is the staff and servicing of rooms. Once in the room we had no instructions on wifi password or how to work the analog tv. Had to go back to the front desk (room phone had no button to the front desk that we could find) where the young man who checked us in stated he forgot to give that information to us. The front desk staff look like they do not enjoy their jobs. Also note that if staying more than one night, your room will not be serviced until later in the afternoon. Per staff, they clean all checkouts first and then rooms of guests staying another night. Our bathroom had a hair tie in the corner that was there when we arrived. After they came the next afternoon to clean the hair tie was still there. Not very good with cleanliness. Also we are used to beds being straightened up. Our bed looked like someone threw the sheets, spread and pillows up with no thought of making it look nice. So if you don’t mind the negatives, you can’t beat the location of the hotel in the city.

Well located hotel in Whitefish with full restaurant and popular (but not mob scene bar) and well appointed rooms. We were on a long trip and stayed in many hotels. Firebrand was the one that stood out the most as being modern and nice- instead of putting lipstick on a dated hotel. Definitely recommend!

Honestly, I’ve stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and this one was disappointing and frankly not a good value. Its decor: an upscale Hyatt Place without the free breakfast: had to ask for a refrigerator for the room (by the way the staff was fine), because their rooms have European coolers. The nightly costs were outrageous (over $600 per night not including taxes) for the services rendered and the subpar accommodations. They market this as the downtown extension of the Whitefish Lodge, which by the way is no five star resort.

I had a room right next to the hallway door, leading to the bar on the ground floor. People were talking loudly and slamming the door until about 130a. Then slamming the door again at 5a going to the park. I got a little less than 3 hours sleep. I asked if I could move and they said no, the ground level was for dogs unless none were available, so my dog and I enjoyed the privilege of paying more for a room that sounded like someone was coming in the hotel room about 200 times. If you book here do not get room 101 or 102. Get as far away from that door as possible, or on a higher floor.

This is our 4th stay here and it’s just as good now as our 1st visit. The staff was helpful and happy hour was a lot of fun.
