We really enjoyed staying at Ice Apartments. The location is superior! The apartment is very comfortable, clean and well supplied. We got good instructions on where to park also. We highly recommend this accommondation! Only thing missing is an oven which would bring more options to cooking.

The place is walkable to the city highlights which is really great but we dislike the walkway going in out of the apartment with our luggage as the walkway is with gravel and not cemented. Also, there’s no exhaust fan in the kitchen to absorbed the smell when cooking. Surrounding is safe. It would be great for passengers arriving early there’s should be a safe luggage storage while waiting for the check in time.

The place was located right at the end of the rainbow road in the heart of midborg. I would recommend earplugs if you're there on a Friday/Saturday night, but otherwise nice and quiet. We were on the second floor. There is no elevator. It wasnt a big deal, but may be an issue for those with mobility issues.

We booked a ‘Superior’ apartment to accommodate 3 adults. The apartment is very well situated for shops and restaurants, we were very pleased with the location. It does get noisy outside through to the early hours of the morning on a Friday and Saturday night but we felt that was a reasonable trade off and it has been well documented in other reviews. The kitchen was not particularly well equipped for self catering; only one saucepan (without a lid) and a frying pan. No colander for draining pasta for example, too few knives and the toaster had a slice of bread stuck in it from the previous occupant, (presumably). There is a non-digital microwave and a two-ring ceramic hob which we had difficulty operating. No oven. If you’re expecting to self-cater then you might struggle as we did. The washing machine was useful as was the washing powder, dishwasher tablets, shampoo and conditioner. We hired a car and although there’s no onsite parking, there’s plenty of street parking nearby (which you have to pay for). There is free parking up by the church (Hallgrimskirkja) which is less than a 10 minute walk. On the whole it was a good experience and I would stay there again but not with the express intention of self catering.

Great location with everything you could ask for. The host was very attentive through email and it was easy to get into. We were a family of 3 and it worked great, we had a little more privacy’s than a regular hotel room and we loved the towel warmers! The apartments are little tucked in, but when looking at the parking house map we figured it out. My only advisory is that there is no parking on site and you need to park at a parking house which is pretty much right beside it and over night parking is very reasonable, unlike the drinking and eating haha. The only issue with the parking is that it closes from midnight to 7am. We had an issue one day but parked elsewhere hoping we wouldn’t get a ticket, and hopefully we didn’t. If anyone can advocate for a 6am open for that parking house (garage) that would be great, as most people visiting Iceland may have a day where they have an early morning tour. Thanks for the great stay!

Great location. Comfortable beds. Contactless checkin/out. Helpful phone support as we got stuck with the laundry machine which is a mystery, especially if you are used to the big/fast ones in the US. Overall a good stay but keep low expectations on the laundry :-)

We had a wonderful stay at the Ice Apartments. The location was great as it’s directly across the rainbow street. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Bed was very comfortable. The water pressure was awesome! If I were to be picky, there was a little incident with the microwave that I had to report but their response was prompt so it’s all good. Over-all, I would definitely stay again. Caviat: parking can be difficult so I suggest to get a PARKA app. It tells you where would be the best available parking spot and it lets you view parking rates. We parked across the apartment which was way easier than going to the Tradarkot parking garage (super compact parking spaces) as suggested in the parking instruction. The parking spot is called Laugavegur 3.

Didnt like that there was no second lock on the door, a chain lock would go along way especially since my door code worked for all doors i tried, which is very concering. Bathroom door handle was falling off, door didnt fit properly had to use whole body to close / open it. Every morning at about 7am someone would open and close the exterior door allowing it to slam shut waking us up every damn time. For being a luxurious place, the bathroom smelt like pee when we got there. Only good thing was communication for check in / checkout, was very easy.

Perfect area right next to the city center, we stayed in apartment 101 right next to the front door so it was very noisy with people coming in and out getting the passcode wrong numerous times etc, apartment was fine plenty of towels the only issue was when we opened up the sofa bed a pair of dirty used womens underwear was at the side of the bed which is pretty disgusting other than that everything was fine

Vi var der i 13 nætter og det er dejlig centralt men masser af støj fra bylivet i weekenden. Værelset var beskidt og toilettet ikke rengjort samt var der ikke fyldt op i sæbe og opvasketabs holderne og meget ulækre bøtter af kaffe og salt stod fra tidligere lejere.. og dynerne samt puderne var helt gule og klamme, men de blev byttet ud da vi bad om det, dog til mindre beskidt. Dermed er rengøring ikke i orden! Vil dog gerne give et godt ord for hurtig response og reaktion fra online hjælp.

Having an access code for entry was very convenient; it made check-in and out really easy. I loved how furnished the space was. There were lots of kitchen utensils, cookware, and appliances. The bathroom was clean with extra toilet paper rolls and even color-safe shampoo and conditioner, a thoughtful touch. The carpet and curtains were a little dirty. I wanted to wash my hands and feet every time I touched them... bathroom floor also wasn't as heated as I expected. Lastly, the bed was a little too springy and pillows a little too flat. I still slept okay but if upgrades are in the talks, those would be my suggestions :) like everyone else has said, location is great. I really liked that it was in the middle of the block so we had both privacy and convenience to rainbow road. Potentially would consider staying here again.

Linens were dirty. I asked for them to change it and response was there is linen in the first floor closet. There were no linen left in the closet Stove wasn’t working. No elevator in the bldg. we were on the 3rd floor which had very narrow steps.

Leider haben wir schon bei der Ankunft einige Mängel im Appartment festgestellt. Telefonisch konnten wir keinen erreichen und auch über den Chat wurde nicht ausreichend reagiert. Die Türe zum Badezimmer war so verzogen, dass unser jüngerer Sohn Probleme hatte, diese zu öffnen oder zu schließen. Der Porzellangriff am Duschkopf war gesprungen und hatte scharfe Kanten. Die gesamte Wohnung hatte eine sehr hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit, sodass sich an der Fensterbank Pfützen gebildet haben. Auch das Fernsehprogramm ließ sich nicht einstellen. Schade, denn auf den ersten Blick war es ein optisch sehr schönes Appartment…aber nur auf den ersten Blick.

There were a few minor issues like a broken shade pull, empty or broken shower dispenser (random other bottled products were either provided or left behind by other guests) and a bathroom light that repeatedly turns off during the course of showering, requiring nearly stepping out repeatedly in complete darkness to activate the motion sensor/light activator (our particular sensor did not feature the on/off/auto switch on the bottom described in the online apartment guide). The biggest issue is the condition of the building’s surroundings and approach to the unit, which gives a really poor impression upon first arrival – lots of trash, random pots and other items in poor condition, weeds, and many rocks across the stairway (looks like years of accumulation) which you must navigate carefully to avoiding slipping on for a bad fall! In addition, the common trash bins are quite nasty and nearby graffiti and other negatives give an unsafe impression. One guest was overheard saying he hoped their car was still there in the morning.

The location is at the heart of the tourist center of downtown, steps from the main walking/shopping street. The building is in a courtyard, so separated from the main drag by another building. It was loud until midnight but then quieted down quickly. The apartment is accessed with a door code, which worked well. Communication (by email) from the team was very good and preemptive. We didn’t need to reach out to them. Building is newly remodeled and nice enough but missed on a few things. Indoor/outdoor carpet was already wearing and stained. Exactly 3 towels (no hand towels or washcloths) for the three of us. Beds were fine. Sofa bed was average to sleep on, but drab as a sofa. It was a bit over warm in the room from the sun. Curtains didn’t adequately black out the light. The gravel courtyard was unappealing (and the gravel encroached on the porch threshold creating a hazard). Overall OK but we wouldn’t stay again. This hotel/apartment was in a fantastic location close to restaurants, shopping, sightseeing and bus stops. The apartment was very spacious and appointed. If I have any complaint it would be the lack of counter space in the bathroom and that the sofa was uncomfortable.

Amazing location. Can walk to all main Reykjavík attractions 20 minutes. Restaurants and shops on doorstep. Parking relatively easy to find. Main frustration was the outside noise on Friday and Saturday nights, and the auto light switch off in bathroom. Very hard to shower and without light turning off multiple times.

Excellent location for where we were staying! It is hard to find at first and the basement unit needs to fix their blackout shades and the bathroom door made a lot of noise and hard to open as well as had to shower in the dark since the motion sensor stopped while showering.

Couldn’t figured out stove top. Video was no help. Also I know iceland was warmer than usual, but apartment was so hot. Had to open windows at night. Then issue was all the drunks yelling at local bars. And loud music

We stayed at the Ice Apartments in Reykjavík in late August. It is centrally located in the city center, there is ample street parking, and the apartment itself was very clean. The staff at the Ice Apartments were also very friendly, responsive, and helpful. I would absolutely recommend the Ice Apartments.

We had a terrible time getting into the apartment. We were given the wrong apartment number and door code. We were stuck outside in the cold and wind trying to find the number to call for assistance. I would say it was stupidity on our part, but it happened to two other parties that day and in the middle of the night. Yelling and screaming. There is a pay car part next door but we had a huge Tesla and couldn't maneuver it in. Parked on the street with the parka app. easy. The apartment was wonderful once we got inside

Very comfortable and good accommodation. Clean and well stocked. No issues with any communication and they answered the phone within seconds. Very close to all sorts of local shops and tourists spots as well as a key bus stop for practical connections. Very recommended.

This property is located in the heart of the shopping/eating district with transportation options (bus pickup location) just around the corner. Communication with the operator was troublesome with the supplied door unlock code wrong on two separate stays before/after our island tour. The 2-person fold-out couch/bed is one room was terrible and uncomfortable (web straps stretched out) while the other room was fine. Both rooms had the problem of bath lights that cannot be turned off as well as some overhead lights in the apartment. Overall, the price was fair and the location was ideal.

When we entered our shower was on. It was unable to be turned off. Not sure how the cleaning person did not notice. Maintance person was able to turn the lower head on and off with a screwdriver. The shower was supposed to be fixed the next day. Nobody ever showed. Glass was broken all over the parking lot. Lucky we did not get a flat tire. I had to call for my apartment code. The building and apartment codes were the same. Unsafe part was I could enter another building with the same code. Beware. Nothing was done to make amends.

Leider haben wir schon bei der Ankunft einige Mängel im Appartment festgestellt. Telefonisch konnten wir keinen erreichen und auch über den Chat wurde nicht ausreichend reagiert. Die Türe zum Badezimmer war so verzogen, dass unser jüngerer Sohn Probleme hatte, diese zu öffnen oder zu schließen. Der Porzellangriff am Duschkopf war gesprungen und hatte scharfe Kanten. Die gesamte Wohnung hatte eine sehr hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit, sodass sich an der Fensterbank Pfützen gebildet haben. Auch das Fernsehprogramm ließ sich nicht einstellen. Schade, denn auf den ersten Blick war es ein optisch sehr schönes Appartment…aber nur auf den ersten Blick.

Nicely designed unit well located yet quietly tucked away from the main drag. There were a few minor issues like a broken shade pull, empty or broken shower dispenser (random other bottled products were either provided or left behind by other guests) and a bathroom light that repeatedly turns off during the course of showering, requiring nearly stepping out repeatedly in complete darkness to activate the motion sensor/light activator (our particular sensor did not feature the on/off/auto switch on the bottom described in the online apartment guide). The biggest issue is the condition of the building’s surroundings and approach to the unit, which gives a really poor impression upon first arrival – lots of trash, random pots and other items in poor condition, weeds, and many rocks across the stairway (looks like years of accumulation) which you must navigate carefully to avoiding slipping on for a bad fall! In addition, the common trash bins are quite nasty and nearby graffiti and other negatives give an unsafe impression. One guest was overheard saying he hoped their car was still there in the morning.

The place was located right at the end of the rainbow road in the heart of midborg. I would recommend earplugs if you're there on a Friday/Saturday night, but otherwise nice and quiet. We were on the second floor. There is no elevator. It wasnt a big deal, but may be an issue for those with mobility issues.

This is an excellent location for people watching. We were on the 3rd floor over looking the start of the ‘rainbow road’ looking down toward the big church. So many people stop to take pictures providing a constant flow of passersby’s. The only thing to be aware of is the street noise all night long, but that comes with the area. We loved it!

We really enjoyed staying at Ice Apartments. The location is superior! The apartment is very comfortable, clean and well supplied. We got good instructions on where to park also. We highly recommend this accommondation! Only thing missing is an oven which would bring more options to cooking.

Excellent location and quiet place although in the middle of everything happening. Definitely consider using the kitchen, Iceland is VERY expensive! Reykjavik is a small city and you can walk to most places. Spacious abd comfortable bathroom.

The apartment was very well situated in the center of Reykjavik so easy to walk to restaurants, stores, small grocery store… Beautifully decorated and very comfortable with all you can need. The beds were comfortable and the sofa bed was like sleeping in a regular bed. We parked in the parking garage situated next to the apartment per host suggestion and it was very convenient.

Super convenient apartment location though a tad hard to find initially. You need to walk through a short alley between the gift shop and Vietnamese restaurant to get to it. Both exterior and apartment door are accessible via access codes. The decor is simple and the studio apartment is open and feels pretty spacious. There’s coffee maker, microwave, electric stovetop, washer/dryer combo, and mini fridge, as well as tableware. Not sure if detergent was provided since we didn’t need it. Parking is on street and enforced from 9 am to 6 pm. We didn’t have trouble finding a spot. The place was tidy but we did have a small stain on one of the bedsheet and there was something stuck on one of the pillow cases. There was also a basket with extra pillows and blankets. Our apartment was on the third floor with 2 twin beds and a queen sofa bed. We loved the that’s it’s super convenient to shops, convenient/grocery/pharmacy, restaurants, and bus stop #6 is only a block a away. But the apartment does not have good soundproofing so on Saturday night we were hearing commotions till about 2 am. During the week it was just the seagulls fighting over food near the dumpsters. PROS: central to everything, open, simple decor, fully equipped kitchenette with settings, small balcony (shared with adjacent apartment), easy paid street parking CONS: poor soundproofing, shower only/no tub, no off street parking, take out trash to dumpster (pretty full when we were there)

The location was nearby all stores and restaurants, and the appartement was clean and had all the required amenities. The only thing was the balcony view looked out onto green bins/garbage bin but that was minor since again we were so close to the Main Street. Would highly recommend people staying there and the team couldn’t have been more helpful. They responded in a timely and polite manner via email. Would love to go back!

Very nice and clean apartment. Thanks to prior reviews that had us look for the "tunnel" near the Asian (noodle) restaurant that allowed us to look for the semi-tunnel to get to the apartment. We arrived 1.5 hours prior to check-in with luggage in-tow and we were able to QR a chat with the folks that managed the apt. and were able to get our code to work to check in early and drop our luggage. Can't say that this will hold exactly for every other traveler; but they were nice and accommodating to let us in a bit early since the apartment was ready. Great location to walk to restaurants, grocery store and the like. Also very close to bus stop #6 which is where many routes pickup for excursions.....we were 4 mins away at most. Plenty of supplies to get in the closet one flight down in case you needed something. Have to say that having a kitchen where you stay really allows you to open some options for cooking. If you haven't heard, Iceland is "hella" expensive for food. We were able to shop at a major grocer about 1/2 mile away (walk) and make some great meals at our place. 2 burner stove, but we were able to make it work ok alternating items cooking. Summary - clean, centrally located, can make a few meals at your house if you go shopping at the store and don't have to eat out every night. Great place to stay as your "home base". A bit of construction in front of the apartments with a bit more noise in the am hours. Just be aware of that, but overall great!!
