Apartment would have been great when it was first kitted out, but it all feels a bit shabby now. There was an issue with the washing machine not working when we arrived, which was sorted by email communication explaining how to reset the trip switch. However, we didn’t trust the machine not to completely stop with all our clothes in, so only washed a load of socks. The apartment is spacious, though we didn’t use the upper level as there was only 2 of us. The ladder is quite steep. The apartment was very warm even with the windows open, and the nylon sheets really didn’t add to a comfortable night’s sleep. The kitchen facilities would be good if you were self catering, and there was a dishwasher with a couple of dishwasher tablets provided. Akureyri had some nice restaurants. Cafe Berlin is just at the back of the apartment, and breakfast was good (and a nice change from the hotel buffets!).

Place is ok but a few annoying things. Finding the place was not so easy. Also unexpectedly had stairs leading up to the apartment. The bed was not comfortable and pretty noisy. Blinds really don’t block out enough light. And there was no shampoo or shower wash. Pretty basic miss.

They had forgotten to send me check in instructions, but the host responded very quickly when I reached out. There’s only street parking available, but that’s pretty common in this area. Overall, the place was cute and clean. If you’re picking it just for the laundry though, don’t…. It’s one of the eco-friendly ones and my laundry took about seven hours for half a load.

Lovely place right in the downtown area. Had everything we needed for our stay. Kids loved the loft and getting to climb the latter just be cautious as it is steep!! Great place we enjoyed!
