Try to arrive during the day, so you can come by boat to the hotel. At night, the boats aren’t used, and you have to walk a considerable distance through dark narrow alleyways to reach the hotel from the nearest car. The rooms are a bit disappointing, small and not very luxurious, but clean. The food is delicious, with a wide variety of choices. The yoga instructor on the roof is sweet and does his best to encourage mind body connection. But it’s the location, with the ghats directly accessible by elevator, that makes this palace special.

Whether you are looking for a spiritual escape or mind and body relaxation, Brij Rama Palace is worth it. I took my mother and kids to the hotel to celebrate her 75th birthday. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and took really good care of us. Don’t miss the spa treatments if you happen to stay here. Thank you Brij Rama associates for making this one of the best holidays I ever had.

This property is amazing. We were there May 26th and 27th. They picked us up from the airport. From Namo ghat they take you in a boat to the hotel. We were in time for their high tea - they thoroughly spoil you. Later in the afternoon, it rained quite heavily, so it was very pleasant and went in the hotel arranged boat to see the Ganga Aarthi- It was amazing. We almost had a front row seat to one of the most spectacular ceremonies. Next day, because of the rising temperatures , we left at 6am to temples ( I had made my own arrangements) , came back for breakfast ( very deliciously and staff is so hospitable) and then left for a couple of hours to see BHU and Sankat Mochan temple. We were back by 11:30 - the heat was unbearable. So we relaxed in the hotel - I got my free mehndi done .Little later we went and got our free foot massage done ( they are very good at it) . Then I signed up for neck and shoulder massage and head massage ( I thoroughly enjoyed it). Later in the evening we went for a walk - you can walk along the banks of Ganges endlessly from the hotel (simply breathe taking) and at night we took a bath in the Ganges. The hotel staff took very good care of us. Attended to each and every whim and fancy (of mine!)Their service is par excellence. Food was excellent. I loved our room. I got to watch the dance program in the evening for a bit. They have no tipping policy. On the 28th I had to leave for Gaya at 4:30am. They made all arrangements. Love this hotel.

Brijrama Palace is one of the most beautiful heritage hotel.. unless you enter in hotel, u can't imagine what lies inside. The hospitality, comfort, food and staff is beyond imagination. We are coming back soon. Location is on ghat and they have boats for transportation but on festival day, reaching hotel can be challenge. Over all 10 put of 10

Definitivt det beste valget av hotell om en skal besøke Varanasi. Beliggenheten kunne ikke blitt bedre. Det var terrasser hvor man kunne sitte og følge med på livet på Ganges. Mange forskjellige aktiviteter var inkludert, også båttur hvor vi kunne følge sermonien Aarti på kvelden.
Definitivt det beste valget av hotell om en skal besøke Varanasi. Beliggenheten kunne ikke blitt bedre. Det var terrasser hvor man kunne sitte og følge med på livet på Ganges. Mange forskjellige aktiviteter var inkludert, også båttur hvor vi kunne følge sermonien Aarti på kvelden.

El hotel es bonito y el personal agradable. Habitación espaciosa y desayuno correcto. Deberían avisar previamente que su restaurante es vegetariano, lo que limita mucho la posibilidad de elección. Evitar elegir este hotel en temporada de monzón, porque es impracticable el acceso por el río y todas las entradas y salidas hay que hacerlas por el interior, cosa que no dejan clara cuando les preguntas al hacer la reserva. Es francamente sucio y poco atractivo el entorno interior del edificio.

Very expensive. Elegant hotel. Room and bathrooms are very good. Food in Udyan and Dharbhanga is quite good. Access is only by boat. Lots of luggage will be a problem. All boats and boat drivers are not equal. Plan departures accounting for the boats and the traffic. Staff are eager and polite but they need more hospitality coaching.

It\'s hard to find enough superlatives for this hotel. If you have the means, then there really is no other place to stay in Varanasi. From the property, to the staff, the location, and every little "extra" like the evening show after the aarti on the banks of the river-which they take you to. We paid for the river view suite, and it was worth every penny. Simply superb.

ガンジス川沿いの、素晴らしいホテルでした。 スタッフさん達も皆、フレンドリーで きめ細かなサービスを受けました。 オススメは、部屋からガンジス川が 一望出来る部屋が良いと思います。 いつも部屋からガンジス川を眺めながら、のんびりと過ごせました。
ガンジス川沿いの、素晴らしいホテルでした。 スタッフさん達も皆、フレンドリーで きめ細かなサービスを受けました。 オススメは、部屋からガンジス川が 一望出来る部屋が良いと思います。 いつも部屋からガンジス川を眺めながら、のんびりと過ごせました。

The best part was the view of the Ganga - most convenient for Arti - rooms were small with no view though - mattress was soft so had back issues - dining area was only one with no outdoor seating - which is so lovely there - else all was great - food was awesome

Very expensive, but does not really meet expectations. Guests arrive by boat as cars can't reach the property due to its location directly on the Ganges in old Varanasi. The Ganges had flooded during our stay, so the boat entry was cancelled. Two rickshaws and 10 minutes walking did not make for a good start. The flooding, of course, cannot be helped. It should not be held against the hotel. However, the vast majority of the rooms have no views. The BrijRama is licked in on three sides by older, runned-down buildings. Our view was a wall about 4 feet away. Only the 4 suites have Ganges views. Horrible, when you pay $550 per night. The staff was wonderful, and tried their best to make up for our disappointment. The hotel gets 5 stars based on the strength of the staff itself. Very nice, helpful, friendly, professional, and exceptional.

Brijrama Palace is a stunning heritage palace on the Ganges that delivered exactly the kind of unforgettable stay I had hoped for. Everything about the property – from its architecture and ambience to the views and experiences – feels carefully crafted and truly special. From the moment we were met at the airport by the inimitable Rakesh, we felt completely looked after, and that care continued seamlessly through to our final drop-off. The private boat ride on the Ganga to the hotel’s own ghat set the scene perfectly and made our arrival feel magical. The welcome at the palace and the way the staff greeted us, always with warm, genuine and accommodating smiles, made us feel like treasured guests rather than just visitors. We stayed in the Maharaja Room, which was exceptional: spacious, elegant and full of character, with a gorgeous bathroom and every comfort we could have hoped for. Everything about our stay was truly fit for a king and queen and made us feel as though we were living like royalty. The food was excellent, with delicious dishes that matched the setting, and all the experiences offered through the hotel were thoughtfully curated and thoroughly enjoyable. From the riverside setting to the cultural touches and quiet moments of calm, it all added up to something far more than just a hotel stay. Very expensive. Elegant hotel. Room and bathrooms are very good. Food in Udyan and Dharbhanga is quite good. Access is only by boat. Lots of luggage will be a problem. All boats and boat drivers are not equal. Plan departures accounting for the boats and the traffic. Staff are eager and polite but they need more hospitality coaching.

We paid Rs. 50 K per night for three nights in this hotel and were expecting a five start stay. It is far from that. The staff is inadequately trained. My internet was not working in the room and I had t take an important business zoom call. I had to cancel it. The reception told me there were jammers deployed around property and that’s the reason. Later upon pushing them to fix the issue they realised their WIFi was not working in other rooms as well while it was working in the lobby and at reception. I called the spa for booking. They told me they will call me shortly. Then never called back. I had to follow up. The staff training about how to take care of guests is really not there. This property is not worth 50K a night. It’s a complete rip off. I have stayed in Oberoi / ITC / Taj many times and their service at half that room rate is phenomenal. The owners / promoters of this hotel need to deeply evaluate what value they are bringing to the guests at that price point.

Staff was helpful when you have questions. And the check-in process could be much smoother. They should provide the information on the local attractions. It's very overrated based on the money you spend!! The process to drop off was very horrible. It took us out from e-riksha from small rough lanes where we witness man was peeing openly. I don't understand why they could not drop off where they picked up in the boat. Highest being guessed, but they cannot have a clean passage for elderly people to walk. Disorganized.. . Treat guests as numbers and fake concerns.. Disappointed!

I can't say enough about our recent stay at Brijrama Palace in Banaras. We were there for Shree Kashi Viswanath Darsan, and from the moment we arrived, we were completely captivated by the palace's stunning location right on the banks of the sacred Ganga. Brijrama is a unique property primarily due to its location. No place can come close to its convenience and proximity to Kashi’s holy sites. Its location also creates challenges with accessibility. We had sr citizens with us and climbing the stairs from ghaat wasn’t easy. Overall experience was positive. Food was good. Service was slow for some reason. They need to add staff to the kitchen or restaurant. Driver Rakesh was very helpful

What a lovely and beautiful hotel!! The best place to stay in varanasi. Cecilia was beyond helpful. She made our stay wonderful. She made sure all our questions were answered. Govind and Nand were especially helpful. The chefs and waitors catered to our every need. It was a beautiful vacation.

At night, the boats aren’t used, and you have to walk a considerable distance through dark narrow alleyways to reach the hotel from the nearest car. The rooms are a bit disappointing, small and not very luxurious, but clean. The food is delicious, with a wide variety of choices. The yoga instructor on the roof is sweet and does his best to encourage mind body connection. But it’s the location, with the ghats directly accessible by elevator, that makes this palace special.

Plus the skilled hands of the Spa team who soothed our aching backs and tired feet.

Access to the property is terrible. 30 mins of walk through the very narrow and unhygienic lanes. The property itself is good and the staff is super helpful. However the access situation to go in and out absolutely crushed our experience. Not recommended.

Okay absolutely loved the location and the staff pretty much make the hotel. Excellent detail to attention and everyone so helpful but…since we came when Ganges was flooded, we had to walk through dirty alleyways to get to the hotel. The alleyways were unsafe and no way we could get to and from the hotel without help from staff.

We loved our stay at Brijrama palace. Hotel management went above and beyond to make last minute changes in making our accommodations. We really appreciate the effort. Only problem is access on the road. Due to being right on water there is nothing that can be done.

ガンジス川徒歩圏内である程度のレベルのホテルを求めると、日本人にはやや高い価格ですがここしかないと思いました。バックパッカー宿ならいくらでもあると思いますが、家族連れには無理だと思いました。他のター○やラジソ○など外資系はガンジスから離れるので不便かと思います。このロケーションなら思い立てばすぐバラナシの小路に出ることが出来ますので良いインド体験になると思います。ホテル自体は秀逸でここでよくこのレベルを維持しているなと快適でした。昔の宮殿なので古さは仕方ありませんが、スタッフも素晴らしくこの価格を出して十分でした。食事も家族一緒だったので昼夜ホテルで取りました。ガンジス川至近ということでベジ／アルコール無しですが、美味しかったです。子供がいたのでエキストラベッドも事前に依頼しておくと入れてくれました。モンスーン明け直後でガンジスの水嵩増えており、ボート禁止となっていたためガートは歩けず、ホテルも送迎は途中から10分ほど歩き＋5分ほど徒歩となりましたが、荷物は全て持ってくれます。女性や子供にはショッキングかもしれませんが、インドらしさ経験できます。ベストシーズンは酷暑3-6月やモンスーン7-8月を避けた10-12月頃かもしれません。12-1月は少し寒くなるそうです。

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Brijrama Palace during my visit to Varanasi. The hotel's location, just a short walk from the Vishwanath Mandir, was incredibly convenient. The Darbangha restaurant was a highlight, with delicious food and friendly staff. The manager and chef went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was delightful. A special mention goes to the panditji on staff who led the guests for the Ganga aarti. El hotel es bonito y el personal agradable. Habitación espaciosa y desayuno correcto. Deberían avisar previamente que su restaurante es vegetariano, lo que limita mucho la posibilidad de elección. Evitar elegir este hotel en temporada de monzón, porque es impracticable el acceso por el río y todas las entradas y salidas hay que hacerlas por el interior, cosa que no dejan clara cuando les preguntas al hacer la reserva. Es francamente sucio y poco atractivo el entorno interior del edificio.

Brijrama Palace is a stunning heritage palace on the Ganges that delivered exactly the kind of unforgettable stay I had hoped for. Everything about the property – from its architecture and ambience to the views and experiences – feels carefully crafted and truly special. From the moment we were met at the airport by the inimitable Rakesh, we felt completely looked after, and that care continued seamlessly through to our final drop-off. The private boat ride on the Ganga to the hotel’s own ghat set the scene perfectly and made our arrival feel magical. The welcome at the palace and the way the staff greeted us, always with warm, genuine and accommodating smiles, made us feel like treasured guests rather than just visitors. We stayed in the Maharaja Room, which was exceptional: spacious, elegant and full of character, with a gorgeous bathroom and every comfort we could have hoped for. Everything about our stay was truly fit for a king and queen and made us feel as though we were living like royalty. The food was excellent, with delicious dishes that matched the setting, and all the experiences offered through the hotel were thoughtfully curated and thoroughly enjoyable. From the riverside setting to the cultural touches and quiet moments of calm, it all added up to something far more than just a hotel stay. Fantastic views of the holy Ganges River. Very unique boutique hotel Old world royal charm. Very friendly, helpful and courteous staff Surprise live music and dance performances daily. Food is excellent. Would highly recommend this property

Very expensive. Elegant hotel. Room and bathrooms are very good. Food in Udyan and Dharbhanga is quite good. Access is only by boat. Lots of luggage will be a problem. All boats and boat drivers are not equal. Plan departures accounting for the boats and the traffic. Staff are eager and polite but they need more hospitality coaching.

Everything was up to our standards and exceeded more. We were confused about tipping, considering we have a more Western civilization autonomy and did tip a person that helped with our baggage. The food was amazing and hospitality was just as equal. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Varanasi to stay at the Brijrama Palace. Daily entertainment such as music, dancing, high tea, yoga, massages and boat rides were an extra plus to our stay.

Great staff that was willing to address every need. We were there when river water was too high to cut off river access so access was limited to very narrow crowded roads that were not clean. It made it hard to go places as you had to negotiate that although staff did what they could to help. People should not visit during rainy season late July to mid September. Otherwise this could be a place worth visiting.

We arrived with no expectations, but the entire experience turned out to be truly wonderful. From the warm and attentive staff to the relaxing spa, everything exceeded what we had imagined. The food was exceptional—whether it was the delicious Sattu Paratha at breakfast, the flavorful dinner thali, or the beautifully curated 10-course tasting menu. The highlights didn’t stop there. The Banarasi paan was the perfect finishing touch, and the cultural experiences added so much charm—from soulful sitar and sarangi performances to the captivating Kathak dance and even an insightful session with the astrologer. The location itself was magical. The boat ride along the ghats, the genuine care from the staff, and the breathtaking night-time Maha Aarti viewed from the boat made for an unforgettable, mesmerizing experience. This entire journey has left me with a deep desire to return to Varanasi again and again.
