Had to stay here last minute was caught in the rain in Yellowstone and it was the cheapest and closest.. The lounge was full of the owners family sitting around and no room for the guest to hang out. Bar was not opened like advertised. Drink machines didn’t work. I’ve never left a bad review before but for course to $200 this is def but worth it. Maybe a 75 room at most

There were no amenities in the room such as a coffee maker, microwave. No continental breakfast offered. Asked about it told to go down the street. Had dinner at the lodge and food was served on paper plates, plactic utensils, styrofoam cups. Room walls were thin. I could hear someone snoring. Door to the room did not seal right you could see daylight all around. Hall carpet had stains and seamed exstreamly old in the rooms also. I would not recommend this place.

Older hotel that needs a complete makeover. No air conditioning, rotating fan in a 75* room. The toilet was from 1970’s, approximately 12” tall, no cold water in the sink and ran out of hot water for showers in the morning. We had two rooms and the second room had the ceiling falling down and mostly the same as the other room. That aside, the rooms did appear clean and the beds were good. I guess I expected a lot more for the $200 price tag.

Bed linens had bugs & hairs on bottom sheet & both sheets were stained on all beds. 1Room had a broken window pane & there were papers/receipts left from a previous guest. The mattress on one of the beds had a large “sunken hole”. The phone in the room & the pay phones in the hall had no dial tone. No working smoke detectors were in the rooms.There were exposed wires in the light fixture outside 1 room; and did not see any sprinklers. Also there was an open pipe in the ceiling of the shower. At 9:45pm there was no employee available to get clean linens or offer any assistance. The worse motel/hotel I have ever stayed in and the most expensive.

There was a dirty towel on our sink when we walked in. Trash and dust all over the carpets. Pillows so bad I had to roll up my clothes to use with it because it was so flat, window so dirty we couldn’t even see thru it, there was about a 4” gap under our door with the hallway light on all night that lit up the room. Completely disgusting.

No service at counter, attendant sleeping in chair behind counter. We had to find an employee in the lounge to check us in after waiting. Baseboard heating cover fallen off onto the floor, dents in the wall, blood stain on pillowcase, shelving stained, old, damaged furniture. The hotel smelled terrible. Carpet dirty in main areas. Would never recommend to anyone.

This property got an overall Expedia customer rating of 6.2. At first I thought the rating was a little harsh. It is a very old hotel. The room was average with a comfortable bed. The TV was very small, maybe 20”. The bath tub had several patches in the bottom, no big deal. When we got there we were greeted by the manager who told us he ran many of the hotels that the company owned. Everything was ok until we checked out. We decided to eat breakfast in their restaurant. Both my wife and I ordered omelets. It took 40 minutes to get our food. One other couple got their food and said they did not want it and left.The menu said omelets came with hash browns and toast. We did not get our hash browns. It was obvious the cook and server did not know their own menu, when the server argued with another group of patrons that ordered omelets. The server told them they did not order hash browns. I got a menu from the counter and showed it the server. I can overlook all of this so far. But when I asked about a restroom in the lobby, I was told it was down a set of stairs in the basement. The walls were all missing paint. The two urinals were out of service and wrapped in plastic bags. There was a basket in each stall. All three were over filled with used toilet paper, rolls, and paper wrapping. When I say they were over flowing I mean there was large piles next to the toilets. It was obvious that they were not emptied in quite a long time. The bathroom was disgusting.

Perfectly acceptable accommodation. A bit dated but comfortable beds and clean. Easy walk to a few food options. WiFi is spotty in the room and there is zero options for connecting in the area other than hotel or restaurant wifi. Recommend for super quick access to/from Yellowstone.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms in back, facing away from the main road are very quiet. Clean, although the bedspread needed to be washed and updated. We pulled it off. Used our own more comfortable pillows. Bed was comfortable. Would stay again.

The only really good thing about this place is how close it was to the entrance of the park. The room was okay, but it’s very dated, and WiFi was almost nonexistent. Walls are paper thin, and there was large gaps in the door. The bar and restaurant were closed the day we arrived. It was open the following day, but we did not eat there. The place across the street, Beartooth Cafe, had absolutely delicious food, and would highly recommend them.

The hotel is ideally located right in the middle of town. It is old, run down and not the cleanest. There is no air conditioning which makes the room pretty difficult to sleep in. The bed mattress was thin, not much padding or comfort. The pillows were also flat with no comfort either. The town has no cell service but the hotel does have wi-fi. I lucked out with a room right next to the router so I had a great connection but it would disconnect when I left the 2nd floor. There was one gal working the front desk, bar and restaurant. She was very pleasant and helpful.

One word for Soda, Butte Lodge would be a Dump! At check-in, the gentleman was extremely rude. The room they put us in was 89 degrees. They put us on the second floor and there were plenty rooms available on the first floor. The room had two fans in it. We had to place one on a chair to get it level to the window to try and pull cool air in. We left and went to dinner in hopes that when we returned that the room would have cooled off but no such luck at 11:30 PM., The room was still at 80° when we turned the bed down there was a dead fly in the middle of the bed. I believe the mattress is as old as the building because of how worn out it is. The sheets felt like 60 grit sandpaper. and don’t plan on taking the shower because the showerhead trickled water out of it and took forever to get warm water. When looking for accommodations and Cook City you should look elsewhere.

TV remote to turn on the tv was missing. Spoke with the employee at the desk 4 times about getting a remote. He kept assuring me that he had one and would bring it to me but he never did. All staff was very difficult to understand because of their thick accents.

We spent one night here, think there were literally 3 people working the entire place. No one at the front desk for check in. A phone there with a number to call for assistance but no one answers. Part of the reason for staying here was the bar and restaurant on site- both were closed. Room was very clean when we did get checked in. Bath towels were very thin, several light bulbs burned out, sink drain was plugged. No coffee pots in the room. Thin blankets on the bed. Definitely not worth the price. This place was probably awesome in its prime but that isn't the case anymore.

The hotel looked like it could have been the top place in town at one time. It is not kept up and the trash can in the lobby was overflowing while three of the family owners sat on the couch.

The Lodge was nice for the area. The general manager Curtis was amazing. Sadly no ice machine, limited dining help. The rooms were rustic to match area, beds were okay comfortable, bathrooms clean. No blow dryer! A great place to kick back in the lobby by the fireplace, but not quite cold enough for it. The coffee was absolutely delicious.

absolute dreadful stay! None of the accommodations were open! No casino, no tavern, no restaurant ! Employees were in the lobby on their phones every time we walked through.. We chose this place because we thought we would have a place to eat, a place to have a drink and little entertainment all in one location.. when we arrived we were flat lied to and told that the tavern just closed early that day! After speaking to locals the tavern/casino hasn't been open almost all summer long. The 2nd day we asked again about it and all the guy would tell us is it was closed then acted like he didn't understand what I was asking.. Of course while on his phone sitting in the lobby. Woke up the 2nd day went down to get coffee and was told no coffee they had to clean the machine of course they were once again sitting in the lobby on their phones. 3rd morning had to go down to look for someone so we could get towels, 3 days and no house keeping, we had to actually go down and request for our room to be turned down... Well ended up just 1 out of the 5days we stayed there they actually changed our sheets and made the bed... The last 2 days they did bring towels and take out trash but that was it! No mopping no soap or coffee cup replacements.. they just brought towels... they offered wifi and we connected but still had zero service.. This was our anniversary trip and it was ruined sadly by the place we chose to stay... We will not ever make that mistake again!

The location was perfect. Just 5 miles outside the southeast entrance to Yellowstone. We had a nice lunch in the attached restaurant. The carpet in the room is worn, stained, and outdated. The bedding and bathroom were clean though so it worked out fine for a night. The building is older so walls are thinner, floors creakier, etc. so little on the noisy side. It was very convenient and more reasonably priced though so I would stay there again if in the area.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting. The hotel was clean. Wifi didn't work most of the time and there is no elevator. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The property is dated and whilst it has a restaurant and bar on site they both close at 7pm. There is no coffee maker in the room but there was a communal coffee machine in the lobby - however, they were out of coffee both days we were there and only had decaf. If this place wasn’t so close to Yellowstone I don’t think they’d be able to charge as much as they did.

This property got an overall Expedia customer rating of 6.2. At first I thought the rating was a little harsh. It is a very old hotel. The room was average with a comfortable bed. The TV was very small, maybe 20”. The bath tub had several patches in the bottom, no big deal. When we got there we were greeted by the manager who told us he ran many of the hotels that the company owned. Everything was ok until we checked out. We decided to eat breakfast in their restaurant. Both my wife and I ordered omelets. It took 40 minutes to get our food. One other couple got their food and said they did not want it and left.The menu said omelets came with hash browns and toast. We did not get our hash browns. It was obvious the cook and server did not know their own menu, when the server argued with another group of patrons that ordered omelets. The server told them they did not order hash browns. I got a menu from the counter and showed it the server. I can overlook all of this so far. But when I asked about a restroom in the lobby, I was told it was down a set of stairs in the basement. The walls were all missing paint. The two urinals were out of service and wrapped in plastic bags. There was a basket in each stall. All three were over filled with used toilet paper, rolls, and paper wrapping. When I say they were over flowing I mean there was large piles next to the toilets. It was obvious that they were not emptied in quite a long time. The bathroom was disgusting.

We were disappointed that the bar wasn’t open ( and the restaurant). I feel this should of been posted on the door so we knew before entering the lodge! Not the owners fault! Nice restaurant(miners lodge down the street)! Coffee pots in the rooms would be great! They had super water pressure in the showers and awesome towels!

The room was great. No airconditioner, just a ceiling fan, but luckily the day & night were both comfortable. Restaurant was not good. We had bloody marys that were served with no garnishes & no ice. My husbands hamburger did not taste like beef even though it was advertised as beef. General manager was amazing on the phone & in person. Will definitely stay there again, just wont eat there next time.

I had a horrible night stay. The toilet seat had chipped porcelain all over. I had to put toilet paper around the seat before going to the bathroom each time for fear of what I could catch. The ceiling had a large reddish stain in the corner. I was concerned about mold. I actually had a ROACH in my room that I had to kill with a shoe! I showed the owner photos. He was rude , mean, and didn't care. He had no customer service. I was miserable all night, worried about roaches and if the sheets were clean. Hotels.com gave me a $25 credit. It wasn't enough. Don't stay here and ruin your Yellowstone vacation.

The room was clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, If you are someone who is hotel picky, don't stay here. It's very outdated but very clean. The only problem we had was the pillows were absolutely horrible and there was a light shining in our window. Other's might like the pillows and be able to sleep in a partly lit up room. As for my wife and I, we couldn't sleep at all and it's now the next night and my neck is still killing me from the pillow. Just my honest opinion. If it weren't for the pillows and the light, which not all rooms probably have, the hotel would have sufficed.
