The Hen House

We stayed in room 1 with the en-suite. Needs some tlc to bring it up to modern day standards (was clean though). Mismatch of furniture and no bedside table lamps in room, plus no natural daylight. If staying on a Friday/Saturday there is a very noisy DJ/band with ‘bass’ that you can hear until very late evening in your room. Lovely helpful staff in bar area with much time for our pooch. Only visited as had family in the area.

Stayed 1 night at a weekend when attending a friends party nearby. Big room with en-suite. Had to go into the bar to check in, although busy someone attended to us straightaway and was very helpful. The milk for the tea/coffee was out of date, I'm sure they would have changed it for us if we had needed it. The live band played until gone 11pm and the normal music continued until after midnight, so if you are looking for a quiet night at the weekend this might not be for you!

Welcoming staff, great atmosphere. Fab for dogs, convenient to high street.

Everything was alright, bed was comfortable but there looked like someone had been sick down the side of the bed and hadn’t been cleaned up thoroughly

For £60 a night I did not expect to have to share a toilet and shower! The thin mattress, curtains and very thin walls were just very annoying. The people in the room next door may as well have been sharing mine as I could hear every word and movement.
