Would fully recommend this hotel. Amazing views over the sea front. Room was clean and appeared newly decorated. Bed comfortable and linen brilliant white. Only downside would appear to be lack of parking during the day.

Lovely sea view. Nice hotel with character. Bathroom needed some tlc. Good that included breakfast which we sat in bar to have as had our dog with us.

Good base for exploring Exmouth and environs.Hotel staff and facilities good. The only problem was ratio of parking spaces to number of rooms If you were lucky enough to secure a space you were reluctant to vacate it. All the adjacent streets were always full.

Very friendly atmosphere & helpful. Easy to check in parking available too. Very close to the promenade & beach. Railway station within walking distance & plenty of places to eat if not at the hotel. Stunning breakfast & all the staff were lovely.

Dog-friendly whether as a solo traveller with dog, or larger group. Staff at reception and others I saw very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, very friendly. Garden (not enclosed) at rear of hotel, with bin for those with dogs, or over the road at front of hotel, both had seating. If you have mobility issues, steps at front and rear of hotel, handrails present, and a lift inside hotel. Hotel room had twin beds, was clean and had soap and towels, hair dryer, TV, tea and coffee facilities provided. Bring own towel for beach/furry friend. Handrail at bath. Everyone seemed to settle down early at night, it was quiet. No evening meals provided but large breakfast choice. Solo travellers could order and eat in the bar area as dogs not allowed downstairs. Dogs could have a sausage brought up for them, which staff asked about each morning. Only blip in whole stay was last morning at breakfast when unknown staff member wasn't quite as friendly as everyone else I'd encountered. Overall, however, a very positive experience, happy to stay there again.

Books because it was advertised with parking. On our arrival T 15:00 (earliest we could) all the parking was taken and we were told it is a first come basis. Didn’t help that they had a wedding party there. When we got to the room it was vile, small, old, tired and damp. It was dirty and damp stains everywhere, on the carpet walls and ceilings. The window would not lock and all the wood was rotten. Would not go back and stay, even if it was free. Room 306.

The hotel is rather grand looking and conveniently faces the seafront although I didn't have a seaview room. The hotel is old and smells truly stuffy in the corridors that I had to hold my breath. The room has kettle tea/coffee facilities, tv, bathtub and a great shower. I couldn't use the bath as there was rust around the plug hole and so not particularly inviting (as did the sink). I was quite cold in my room during the day so went to use the extra blanket in the cupboard but it smelled so bad, in fact I couldn't use that cupboard at all to hang my clothes as that too smelled rather bad so i just used the chair to drape my stuff over it. The duvet had a cigarette burn on it and the bed wasn't so great. It was super basic. That said, the staff were great, helpful and super friendly and the breakfast options were fantastic with delicious mushrooms and scrambled eggs and excellent coffee.

Hôtel très bien situé , personnel extrement sympathique . Chambre assez petite mais confortable . Un petit bémol pour la salle de bain , minuscule et peu pratique . Les serviettes ont été changées tous les jours ( nous sommes restés 5 jours) mais aucun ménage n’a été fait donc la propreté était très limité à la fin , en particulier dans la salle de bain . Un plus par contre , le petit déjeuner est excellent et les serveuses extrêmement serviables et sympathiques

Our room was dirty and musty (smelt like an old peoples home) and very dated. The breakfast area and bar were newly renovated and very nice. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it, we had a drink in the bar in the evening which was average pricing and plenty of seating. Overall the hotel when fully renovated will be lovely.

I booked 2 double sea view rooms, what I got were 2 broom cupboards at the top of the hotel that you could barely move round an you had to watch your head incase you banged it on the roof. Admittedly they did overlook the sea an did have double beds forced into them but if you knocked both together it still wouldn't be up to standard. The floors squeaked and creaked any body underneath probably had a terrible time. They also were not level,the slope on them means you perpetually feel drunk and stagger about. Cleanliness and staff were fine, breakfast was good.

Amazing one night stay for us. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Very clean hotel, obviously an older building which is being renovated, the areas that have been done are stunning, the areas that haven’t yet are still clean. Our room 202 was very comfy, but very small yet well equipped.

Our room was very small and the en suite shower was tiny! That being said, it was all very clean. Staff were nice and polite. The breakfast options were good. The ‘garden view’ from our room left a lot to be desired and there was a fire door down the corridor from our room which banged shut everytime someone walked through-right up until 4am. There was very limited off road parking. Overall, the hotel is nice and is in a good location, close to the beach.

I’m really conflicted about this review! It’s a total game of 2 halves at this hotel. The staff are fantastic. The breakfast was great. The ‘public spaces’ ie lounge and dining room are modern and clean and well decorated. Great sea view and location. But then our room was the complete opposite. Really bare and basic - damp smell in the room and damp patches on wall/ceiling with rotten wood windows, bare bathroom, tattered bath mat, threadbare curtains and tatty furniture. To the point where I genuinely wondered if we had somehow been shoved into a generally unused attic room were it not for the fact that I booked it 4 months ago for a wedding and paid a price that I’ve paid at other hotels ie not below the odds by any means! So I wouldn’t stay here again because of the room (luckily we barely spent any time in it because of the wedding) but I feel bad writing this because the staff were so great!

The room was tiny, next to the lift. Hot water took ages to arrive . Staff were helpful and breakfast was excellent. Parking difficult. Sound proofing was poor. Could hear activities nearby.

Great position close to beach. Our sea facing room had fabulous views out over the bay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but lacked some items that would have been useful like bedside tables on both sides of the bed. The bed was rather hard and squeaky. The bathroom could do with a complete upgrade.

The property is old and in need of a face lift. The room assigned to me was tiny, with barely space to move around the bed, the bathroom was old and worn out. I have to say it looked clean enough but cleaning can only go so far. The final straw to me was that the room was on the top floor, it was a hot day and even with the window opened all the way it was hot and stuffy. I could not contemplate sleeping there. The staff were great and refunded my payment without a question but I cannot recommend it

Great Hotel, reasonably priced, clean and had all the basics. Was only a 1 night stay to meet some friends, however I became ill overnight and felt really unwell in the morning and couldn’t stomach breakfast but they gave me water and offered anything they could to make me feel better. The staff were really kind and helpful and made sure I was ok before checking out. This is above and beyond any service I have encountered and I am truly grateful for their hospitality and would definitely come again and recommend to all.

Good location and good for price. Breakfast was tad chaotic- 3 FOH staff but clearly no system in place for ordering. My breakfast was inedible and I sent it back.I was not alone. Saw 2 tables get wrong orders, and one table leave after waiting 45 mins for food. Hope it was just a bad day .............

Lovely kind warm friendly staff, everyone had a lovely smile for guest Lovely breakfast served by very friendly courteous staff Awesome boss, so kindly picked me up from the train station when I arrived very late and everyone gave me a very warm welcome on arrival

We arrived before check in time and asked if it would be okay to park at the hotel, the receptionist said it was fine. They took our details and said our room was ready if we wanted to check in, which we did, this was 2 hours before our stated check in time. We found all staff at the hotel very welcoming and happy to help. Would definitely recommend to others.

Located a short walk from the centre but with parking makes it really convenient. The views over the estuary from its open, elevated position are wonderful. However, it's the staff that made this a memorable stay - everyone I saw had a smile and went the extra mile. Oh, and the breakfast was first-class.

Overlooking the bay and a short walk from the beach, this is a good setting for a seaside hotel. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The room was ok, although the "garden view" was rather optimistic, as we were at the far side and our view was very restricted. The bed could use an upgrade, and the window rattled in the wind. The shower was not suitable for a large person, but otherwise acceptable. There is a small lift to all floors, including the very smart breakfast room in the basement.

Quite basic in terms of amenities but perfectly adequate for our needs: clean, en suite, fan in room and kettle with teas/coffees etc. Well located for the beach and Pavilion and just a few minutes' walk to the town.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would happily stay again.

Beautiful view of the coast, fantastic breakfast and excellent staff. Shower was hit and miss regarding hot and cold. Lovely location and Exmouth is a great place to visit.

A really friendly reception for me and my dog. Great breakfasts. The hotel is clearly a bit tired in places and perhaps a "work very much in progress", but it is very clean, convenient and good value for money. Dining and bar areas really nice, less so my actual room which needs updating. Heating timings very odd: too hot at 11pm and cold at 8am! I didn\'t know until I arrived that the dinner options are not available out of season.

Beautiful view of area from hotel, convenient for seafront and the town of Exmouth. Lovely walks everywhere the dog was very happy. A very nice breakfast but no evening meal available. A truly dog-friendly hotel with very pleasant and friendly staff.

Good location and good for price. Breakfast was tad chaotic- 3 FOH staff but clearly no system in place for ordering. My breakfast was inedible and I sent it back.I was not alone. Saw 2 tables get wrong orders, and one table leave after waiting 45 mins for food. Hope it was just a bad day .............

Comfortable stay - room was clean and staff friendly. Complimentary drink on arrival which I took to the seats in their private garden with sea view was a bonus. As a coeliac I was very reassured re the level of care to cater to my need for a gluten free breakfast. Would stay again.

The breakfast was lovely, absolutely no complaints, plenty of choice, fresh and hot. Free wifi , nicely decorated dining room and bar area. Friendly staff and to saybits 2 star isnt fair ,its definitely better than that.

We had an amazing view of the sea and the sunsets from our window. The room was small but had everything you need for a weekend away. Tea, coffee, kettle, TV and free WiFi in our room and a lovely full English breakfast included in the price. Our stay was 3 nights end of Feb 29th - 3rd March. All the staff we spoke to were lovely and helpful. The only downside was the temperamental shower that was very hard to adjust, either too hot or too cold and changed mid shower so it was a bit of challenge. There was also a lift to all floors if needed. Parking although free was on a first come first serve basis so you couldn’t guarantee a space outside, we were never far but it was low season so probably not so busy. We would happily stay again and had a great weekend.

The Hotel is fine. The room appears to have been redone over the past few months, just a shame the bathroom wasn’t also updated as it was very aged, definitely needs an update. In the evening a light outside, to illuminate the Hotel sign, & unfortunately this shines into the room, which is very annoying. The breakfast was good, great staff, different cereals and a nice fry up. I think update the bathroom, both pillows are too soft, need a firmer pillow, and switch the light off at night outside and you’re onto a winner.

The receptionist and other staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. The bar and breakfast rooms are very nice. However the rest of the hotel badly needs updating. Initially we were given a pokey double room on the top floor. It was boiling hot with only a single window which we couldn't open as there were seagulls nesting outside. We were offered a twin room on the ground floor which was better. Breakfast was plentiful but basic quality. The price was reasonable for July in Exmouth for 1 night but for any longer it is worth looking around.

Room 301 - Incredible view of the estuary and beach. Room is dated but clean. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Don't expect all mod cons. Great selection of teas and coffee. Lovely breakfast a nice surprise. Worth the money for location alone!

Hotel a little dated but well appointed. Ideally situated with parking if needed. Close to town and the beach. Clean and tidy room. Bed very comfortable. Staff were very smiley and helpful.
