Has all of the basics plus a great pool and view

We picked this location because it looked nicer online than other options in the area and it was available. It was a nice place to stay. The breakfast was ok, but I have better. Also not many options for breakfast. The room was fine - it was clean and quiet with a nice size fridge to hold the things we needed to keep cold. We did stay there during a heat wave and the lobby and hallways were hot because the AC couldn't keep up. Also the ice machines were not working so that was a big pain and we had to go buy ice. The location was good as well. Overall I did like this hotel but it was pricier than other places.

Did not like that there was no free coffee, tea, or water in the lobby. Breakfast was limited, and expensive reported wabbly faucet twice in our bathroom and never got fixed. Ice machines worked one day all week. Had to bring ice bucket down to lobby so that they could fill it. Very inconvenient

Didnt give me the room i booked and said i couldnt have said room since they were all booked wierd right cause i booked it in march and paid for it then went in July for my stay and nothing was offered to fix the problem no credit no refund nothing the breakfast was horrible the pool had dead fish in it and the last whole day we were they the pool was cloudy and felt like bath water over all was very disappointed in this hotel i will never stay here agian this was my first and last time felt like i got ripped off i paid $1500 for 6 days 5 nights ridiculous

My husband and stayed here to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. I chose this hotel because of the other great reviews. Everything stood up to the test. This place is gorgeous and mostly clean. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The pool and fire pits were nice. The only reason I held back a star was our room was infested with ants. We didn't notice how bad it was until the last morning. At first we noticed one or two but by the third day it became clear that there was a much bigger problem. When we checked out we notified the staff. They apologized profusely. We live in Virginia and know that ants can be hard to keep under control. All in all it was fantastic! Thank you. We will likely be back.

Nice hotel, but all the amenities were unavailable.

Nice place. Good hot breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. It also had a Blink EV charger right on the property.

I needed to extend my travel by a day and neither hotels.com nor the property could do it. They blamed each other. Also there are electric car chargers but most of them were out of service

Two night stay, very comfortable and clean

Room had a very strong chemical odor. It was hard to breathe. We could not stay there. We were switched to a room, but lost the suite with the balcony and water view that we paid for. Breakfast was disappointing too.

The room was dirty! Dead Bird on the balcony that had been there for some time! Carpet was filthy, with a large red stain in the middle of the carpet. Couch was stained with what, I do not know and was not clean. General Manager was rude and abrupt when asked to extend our check out. No Grille, even though they advertise that they had one. No regular bar. For three Jimmy Dean breakfast bagels and two cups of coffee the bill was $43! Totally outrageous! General manager was totally rude and matter of fact with our issues. Staff was friendly and nice, but was weak on directions or suggestions for places to go. I will not stay here or an affiliated hotel in this group again. High prices, no service, not even a receipt for my stay! Just all their way, no customer priority or service!

While this is my fault for not doing more research, I learned that the rooms were not on the water. I saw marina and made an assumption. I was offered a water view room for an extra $60 per night. I appreciate that housekeeping is on demand. Very ecological. However, when cleaning rooms it would be necessary to look down. By doing so the pubic hairs in the corner of the shower and the slime around the edge of the sink may have been spotted. The carpet was NASTY. It was beyond cleaning and needs to have been replaced ages ago. Check out room 223 if you care to verify. The breakfast had to be built component by component. Once you found the person in charge you could replace the items that were missing - coffee, pepper, bread etc. Eggs were cold. There was not even peanut butter for those of us looking for protein. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment. Maybe similar reviews are the reason the property was very poorly occupied.

The hotel was decorated beautifully. Staff was so friendly. Best sleep I’ve had in years. !! Parking is convenient, the rooms are very spacious and I am so glad I chose this hotel for my first visit to the island. I will definitely be back next year.

Loved the room and the view

Like new, great view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If anything could be improved upon, I would suggest more soundproofing to prevent hearing footsteps from floor above, and to please add some vegetarian options to the restaurant menu.

Very nice and clean place. Staff was very nice. They let us check in early. But the walls were not sound proof. The family next to us on both sides were very loud. I’m sure it would have been a pleasant stay if it wasn’t for the families next to us.

We had an overnight stay on a return trip from vacation. The hotel itself is nice the room we stayed in was a larger room with a sofa area. Beds were comfortable, carpet was a little dated and our shower did not have any shampoo or soap upon arrival. The view from the hotel of the Marina area is beautiful during the day at night you will not see anything it’s quite dark. There’s a pool area which wa not busy during the morning of our stay however it is shared with the property next to the hotel. Breakfast was probably the worst we’ve had for a hotel breakfast as it was empty by 9am and the food was just reheated frozen items. Kids enjoyed the muffins as well as the waffles. Overall this location is nice but needs so improvements in service.

The views were spectacular! The room was spacious and comfortable.

The hotel was fine, just not what I expected. It was quiet due to being off season. We did not get the room I reserved. It was supposed to be a king bed and double sofa bed, with a marina view but did not realize the mistake until we had settled in. We got 2 queens beds and a parking lot/adjacent hotel view. My husband and I ended up sleeping in separate beds during our stay because of this. I was disappointed with the outside marina area, it was not inviting and many of the planks were warped and a tripping hazard. Also the bathroom pocket door was heavy and hard to close as the hardware was falling off. The beds were uncomfortable/hard and woke up with a back ache.

I’m so sad that this was just a one night stay! My room was fabulous!!! Absolutely amazing bed, butter soft linens and immaculate bathroom! Front desk team were so helpful and professional!

Stayed here two years ago, enjoyed it so decided to stay here again. What a difference- the rudest manager my husband & I ever encountered and woman at check in was not accommodating at all. When I booked it stated that there was a complimentary hot breakfast (one of our reasons for staying with 4 grandchildren.) Informed upon arrival we were told that was no longer available for the last two weeks. We asked for a room reduction and was rudely told that wasn’t going to happen! Even though and I checked, it STILL states on their website that there is a complimentary breakfast. I was given adaily $15 credit slip to use in the cafe and it still cost me an EXTRA $40 for a breakfast of cereal, rice crispy treats, juice, milk & a coffee. The prices in the cafe were so overpriced- nothing about this is complimentary! The only nice part of our stay was the woman who worked in the cafe on 8/15. On the third day of our stay we were told our room would be serviced. When we arrived back at the room after 5 the only thing we received was fresh towels. I had to ask the service lady in the hallway why she hadn’t even emptied the trash and asked why they hadn’t cleaned as there was still sand in the shower!! Ohh was the response. And why do they not know how many people are in a room to give the corresponding number of towels?? And how about putting more hooks/racks in a bathroom at a beach motel for towels, beach towels and bathing suits?? Will never stay again because of rude management!

A/C wasn't working when I checked in, ok fine. But they really took their time coming to the room to trouble shoot the problem and said no other rooms were available even though i said i could book one on expedia right in front of them for that night (upgraded room so probably didn't want to give it to me for no added cost). Only after bothering the front desk two more times after the complaint was made they came at 930pm when my three young kids were trying to go to bed. Not sure they would have remembered to come at all otherwise or were they planning on knocking on my door at midnight? I usually don't leave reviews but i felt like my time and business weren't respected or appreciated. The man that came to my room literally got off his laptop to look at the a/c. He just had to unplug the unit a couple times and re sync with the thermostat but i had to sit in a 78deg room for almost an hour and a half wondering if it was ever going to get resolved and my kids wanted to go to bed. If they handled that situation a little better, i wouldn't have bothered to mention the black mold on the ceiling in this review.

Really terrific staff

Property manager Mr. Sabbir gave us excellent service.

We found the staff to be fairly unfriendly. Our first room we checked into had a bathroom door that locked me into the bathroom, minutes into settling in. No apologies. The staff was unsmiling (except for one gentleman) and seemed put upon. No maid service our last night there. The cafe was also unfriendly and unwelcoming.

This is a really nice place to stay in Chincoteague, right on Main St, within walking distances of shops and good restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was off season, so only one person working the front desk most of the time. We had to wait 40 minutes for our card key to be activated, because it wasn't done at check-in and there was a few people ahead of us for other issues. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard, well stocked and serviced.

Very roomy, quiet, beautiful balcony, right on the water. Was clean, breakfast included, friendly staff. Would definitely stay again!

Easy check-in, spacious room, nice balcony view. The bed sheets were slightly stained in areas and not that comfortable. The concierge on duty was always available and nice. Driving distance from the nearest beach, and walking distance from a few local restaurants.

Would stay here again! A bit off the beaten path though

We attended the 100th year of pony penning in Chincoteague, VA. The hotel turned out to be in a great location to shuttles, festivities, and great places to dine. The rooms were nice, clean, and quiet. The rooms overlooking the bay are very nice.

We went for the pony swim and this was a perfect location

staff was kind and accommodating. Location was great - walkable to town, the carnival and Assateague island was close by (driving). Ample parking. Pool was nice but we did not go to the pool. Breakfast, average.

Common area toilet did not have toilet paper. Breakfast had spoiled milk and awful coffee.

Very nice hotel. Needed to stay one night since we decided to arrive early to the island. They give you a credit for the cafe for breakfast but it was only cereals, fruits and microwaveable sandwiches. We had expected something a little more than that. Otherwise nice place to stay!

Pros: Updated lobby, view beyond the pool is beautiful. Close to/in town. Cons: The air conditioner was so loud we could not leave in on to sleep. Not clean, mold on the curtain above the window. Restaurant/bar, sign indicated it was open until 10pm. No service available. Breakfast was not good, powdered eggs, no fresh fruit, minimal healthy choices. We stayed 1 night. Hotel is average at best.

Was generally a very nice property. The restaurant was not very good

I will say that when we booked on Expedia it said complimentary breakfast (we only book hotels with complimentary breakfast). When we checked in, we were told that Expedia was wrong and there was NO complimentary breakfast. They explained to us that Expedia was wrong and they had to call them multiple times to fix it. When I called Expedia, they told me that I was wrong and it was never complimentary breakfast. I have had nothing but problems with Expedia! How do they have NO documentation that their website had complimentary breakfast for this hotel? Terrible!!!…and they wouldn’t compensate me at all!!!!

Excellent experience at this property. The room was fabulous with very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with wonderful toiletries, and Starbucks coffee in the room. It was very spacious and exceptionally clean. The free breakfast was wonderful with every imaginable option. I would definitely visit this hotel again.

Very comfortable hotel. Front desk was always very friendly and helpful regarding directing us to events that were occurring in Chincoteague region. One of best hotel breakfasts that we have ever experienced.
