FairBridge Inn Express Hiawatha

This hotel is a little jewel in Hiawatha. It is very well kept spacious and has a nice pool. We enjoyed our stay. The bed is comfortable and Mary and Mike are great hosts.

The place is nice, but needs to get the restaurant open the price for the stay is going up every time now need to have a good hot breakfast!

This property is an older Best Western Hotel that a local couple has purchased and is in the process of remodeling. Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff/owner was very helpful and attentive at check-in. I would definitely stay there again if we are ever in that area again.

This was our second year staying here, very clean large rooms,quiet. Super owners, very helpful in dining ideas etc. It is an older property in the process of renovation. No complaints whatsoever, will stay again.

The rooms were clean, smelled fresh, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. I wish i could have stayed longer, but my trip only required one night. But I will stay there next trip around.

the owner she is the sweetest most friendly lady she was so kind and accomadting she takes pride in her cleanliness and he shows very clean, comfortable beds best sleep we will definitely be back it was so charming and clean we highly recommend this hotel to anyone its affordable and clean which means the most to us.

Key had hard time opening the door locks, they really couple spend money and update the door locks.

For a hotel in a small town, we were pleased with our stay at the Fair Bridge Inn Express in Hiawatha Kansas. We had requested two rooms close to each other for a family stay and they arranged that. The rooms were spacious and quiet and clean. The small refrigerator with freezer kept our items and our ice packs nice and cold. The bed was cushioned but somewhat firm, like we like them. The only slight drawback was that it seemed to take quite a while for the hot water to heat up for our morning showers. But when it finally did, it was great. We would stay there again if in the area.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The only complaint I had was with the air conditioner unit in the room. It always made a "grinding " sound whether it was running or not. I di talk with the owner and she had a couple people try to fix it. They did offer me another room but said they all do that so I didn't move. The night was long since I am a light sleeper and the noise on and off kept waking me up.

Propery owener did not understand service pet policy. They would not allow us to bring our service dog through the lobby. Thwybwanted to move us to a different room that was pet friendly. We declined and the owner became very ride. We were discriminated against for being handicapped.

The person working the front desk asked me if she had charged my card, given me my room key, and for my name multiple times after I already gave her my CC and ID, and had filled out the "guest info" form. This was also true for the person who was checking in just minutes before me. I was also charged an additional $0.06 three hours after I had checked out because she did not charge me the full amount. Scatter brained to say the least. Property also did not resemble the photos. My room had a balcony which locked you out of the room from the outside with a doorknob that was fixed in one spot, luckily I tested the doorknob before locking myself on the balcony. Listed also include a mention of complimentary breakfast, which was not the case. It was an assortment of store bought Little Debbie pastries strewn about the front desk, so much so that I literally could not place my room key on the desk to check out. Would not stay here again.

Great small town family owned and operated hotel. Extremely clean and owners are amazing, they waited up until my daughter and I arrived and for safety the entrance doors are locked for safety after late hours. For a small town I would say we should more often look for these hidden gems that put their profits back into their community vs larger chain hotels that send much funding to a main headquarters. Very comfortable stay and an excellent value. We will absolutely stay here again.

Mary was super sweet, helpful with where to eat and any other questions we had... i loved her sense of humor. Her place is clean and would recommend it everytime!!! Thank you!

Staff was friendly & accomodating with our needs

Easy, quick check-in and friendly staff (the owner actually)! Amazingly clean room and bathroom with very comfortable beds. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely stay here again for future visits.

My stay here was amazingly comfortable. The couple that own the place was very helpful and sweet. The room was clean the beds were soft. I had no way of getting around town and they assisted me the best they could. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality. ❤️❤️

I needed a place to sleep on a long drive to Omaha and hit upon this motel in a very small town. A really pleasant surprise, friendly proprietor who "guaranteed a comfortable bed and a nice warm shower -- and she was right on both accounts and a comfortable room.

We stayed at the FairBridge Inn for one night when passing through Hiawatha and we were happy with our stay. The couple that runs it were wonderful and very responsive, and they are working very hard on the property! Our rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable! We had to stay past check-out time due to car problems and they were very accommodating, and even offered to lay out breakfast earlier than usual when we thought we'd be leaving very early in the morning. I recommend this facility and would definitely stay again next time we pass through town.

This is a nice motel for a quiet, safe stay. The owners are lovely and seem to really care about their guests. The price is reasonable for the room size and amenities compared to surrounding motels in Hiawatha as well as Sabetha and Seneca. We recommend this place if you really just need a place to sleep and leave your things while you're out.

Signage was confusing. There's a big sign for Stars Inn and I wasn't sure if I had the right place. There is no breakfast, no coffee in the lobby, only bottles of water. The gentleman at the desk was very nice. The room was nothing special. The HVAC unit cover fell off, still worked. The hot water was not very hot.

I spend about 1/2-2/3rds of the year in travel for work, so much so that I never write reviews. This is the only exception. As a single woman taking the scenic route driving route 36 NYC-LA, I tend to book late in the day to be safer about where I end up rather than force driving while sleepy. I decided instead to skip scary night ghost town St Joseph's, + drive out to Hiawatha for the positive reviews. It's rare that I have found a place so hospitable and intentional in making guests feel welcome. Even tho it is 'no frills', in fact Mary's touch can be felt in the tastefulness and grace of sheets, carpet, quality of bedding. FairBridge is her & her husband's retirement project, and you can feel the love. Her breakfast is structured for those on the go, but her banana bread and blueberry muffins would have lines out the door if sold for lots of $$ in Manhattan. Instead they are part of hospitable touches at FairBridge. The property is humble but a constant work in progress of improvement. I hope locals would note the full restaurant, bar and apparently legendary catering by Mary for their events. As a husband-wife operation, doors are locked at night but they live on-site so opening for late guests is a quick phone call away. Mary is also angelic local concierge. While there, she helped guests look for local jobs & housing (I saw signs in Norton for jobs!). Support a sweet retired couple's dream! They deserve great guests looking for simple, blessed hospitality :D

Place looks like just transferred ownership. Pleasantly surprised. Felt very welcome even when we arrived a bit late (9 pm) after long day on the road. New beds and bedding. Very clean. Definitely would stay again. Good assortment of fruit, prepackaged snacks for breakfast and water!

It was ok for a one night stay. The hotel was actually quite quaint, but when we walked into our room there were a couple crickets inside we had get out. The handle to the shower was broken. It fell off as soon as I barely touched it and you couldn’t get the water to turn on. The shower head was filthy and corroded with hard water stains and gunk. The couple who run the hotel were very sweet and kind, but I was a bit put off that they didn’t like our well mannered dogs there for a hotel that claims to be pet friendly. They offered a lot of yummy goodies at the front desk counter for guests to take day or night, which also counts as the “free breakfast” they claim to offer. I did like that is was in a very quiet area.
