Holiday Inn Club Vacations Fox River Resort

We stumbled upon this incredible deal and what an amazing place at such a reasonable price! So clean and beautiful everywhere! The room was incredible with a full kitchen and total comfort! The pools were also beautiful and we were very grateful that they were open so late in the evening as we arrived around 8pm. The hot tub was especially appreciated. The staff were friendly and the amenities and activities were exceptionally fun and creative! We loved the game room, chess, tennis, and mini golf. This is a place we would try to come each year. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Indoor waterpark was PERFECT for the cold Chicago winter

There is a nice 9 hole par 3 golf course included with the property. The place was slow on the weekdays but busy on the weekends for the water park crowd.

The accommodations was good, the only thing I didn't like was the water park tickets wasn't included in the price.

We brought my grandson who is 6 he loved the pool, game room. Our room was a nice size with two queen beds and a kitchenette to cook in great place

The room was just as pictured, clean and comfortable. The heated indoor pool was nice. But, the photos of the water park are misleading. The water park was not open during the week, and would have required purchasing tickets for admission (during open hours on the weekend). This was not made clear on the website.

Sadly, this property is declining. We’ve stayed here several times and always enjoyed it, but this last trip was a bit disappointing. Upon check-in we were told the on-property grill was closed indefinitely. There is no food on resort. The horses are gone and the old stable area is filled with junk. It looks terrible. The water park was also closed too. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, so the most expensive rooms on property. The furniture in the rooms was beat up and dirty, kitchen supplies were in need of replacing, missing screens on windows, bathroom doors won’t lock. The indoor pool was packed with people not staying at the property, not kidding, at least 100 people. I really like this property and I hope they can turn things around, it’s a nice getaway away from the busy Chicago suburbs.

No hot tub in the winter, either at the water park or in the resort pool area. Rooms pretty nice and affordable.

DON’T SPEND YOUR SPRING BREAK HERE. It’s cold & miserable outside. came to this resort for pirates cay indoor water park. checked in go to the park about 5:30. Our room smelled like cooked fish. front desk informed us that the restaurant is closed that is at the resort but the restaurant at the water park had pizza & would be open. We get to the Water park & they are busy. It was about 44 dollars including the taxes for myself & my daughter to enter. We walk around & there are two slides that were open. The small play splash pad area for smaller children was closed & so was their small lazy River, the bathrooms were small & disgusting. We ask when they would open the lazy River, they informed us it was closed due to “maintenance issues” but it would be opening about 6:15pm it is currently 6pm so we decided to hang around to check if we could order some pizza. We go to the restaurant inside the water park & surprise they are closed no one informed us they close promptly at 6pm. Then we went to ask the lifeguards what was up bc it’s already 6:15 & the other side has not been opened up yet. A manger informed us a child pooped in the pool & that is why they were closed & will remain closed the rest of the night. Great. They refund us our money, so we decide to check out the pool & hot tub which surprise IS SEASONAL & not open. The pool was overcrowded with people some playing football, there is no lifeguard. The bathrooms are gross & small. This place is really inconvenient!!!!!!

Very nice stay. Grounds are exceptionally clean and staff is friendly. My ONLY complained would be the carpet needs shampooing since it was clearly stained and also sticky. There was also hair on the tub rim. Outside of those issues, the place is well kept.

It was terrible. The dust on the fan above the beds was about 3 inches thick. My niece had a tic on her from the property. The TVs didn’t work in the Rec area. You had no food option for your guests. The indoor pool was so dark that it’s a huge safety concern. I was disgusted that this property is a “resort”. It is absolutely horrid.

Well overall. Not bad. With how expensive it was kinda expected the Waterpark to be included. Not having to spend an extra hundred plus dollars. I even had to pay for a band even though I wasn't going to swim. The hotel room had atleast thirty millipede's all over the floor had to sweep the floors before the kids could walk all over. And there was atleast thirty of the Asian beetles crawing all over the room woke up the last night there to one crawling on my forehead. Not a pleasant way to wake up again for how expensive and "highend" this places makes it out to be. I understand the pool was in a separate building but there should at least be a swimming area added to the waterpark as well & not just the lazy river. We had 4 kids, 2 special needs so we had to separate & go to 2 sperate buildings for them to just swim.

We were able to get our room early, check in was very quick and staff very friendly. Our room was very clean and there was fun things for the kids in our group to do. Rec center is a nice place to gather and we ate together as there was 15 of us. Would come back again.

Overall I was impressed with my stay! The presidential suite was amazing! The master shower was a little gross, it had mold on the caulking and it didn’t look like it was clean. The floor itself in the suite made your socks super dirty, like they don’t mop it. I could look past those things because the property itself was beautiful, the staff is super friendly! The water park is so much fun! I would recommend this place to anyone and will be staying here anytime I come back to visit my brother!

The land is beautiful. The room had spiderwebs and trash in the room when arriving. Smell was very rough down the halls but the room wasn't smelling.

We were traveling with our son and his son. We only used the outdoor pool and waterpark both were really nice. Room was large, clean and had all we needed. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. People were friendly and the room was quiet.

I specifically called to find out if indoor pool would be open. I was told the indoor pool and water park were open. Our whole trip was to give kids pool time. When we arrived both pools were closed. The water park was seasonal, so I understand. However, the other indoor pool was closed to paint it and they didn't mention that when I specifically asked. The floors in the bathrooms were dirty and the Jacuzzi tub was dirty. Loved the two room suite design and I loved the balcony.

Great place for our family vacation. Large indoor pool and our older two (6 & 4) loved the waterpark. Our lodging had plenty of space and was super quiet. Downstairs neighbors had a holiday party late into the night and we barely heard them. Staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. The rooms need some upgrades. A burner on the stove did not work and the dishwasher had some issues. The biggest issues is a lack of pedestrian walking paths around the complex.

Overall trip was good furnishings could be updated. Only problem we had was no hot water a few of the days. One day it was cold in the afternoon but then in the morning we got hot water back and then no hot water for the next day and a half.

Check in took so long that it ate up precious vacation time. Nearly an hour. I have never had the process take so long at any hotel ever. The room was amazing and beds were extreme my comfortable. We stayed in the presidential penthouse.

Went with a friend for three nights. Stayed in the Villa Suite. It's lovely. I called ahead and reserved the lakefront view. Two bedrooms. Two kitchens. Electric fireplace. Everything you could need for a family trip to use the plentiful amenities. Even a washer and dryer. We swam in the indoor pool. It was clean. The suite was clean. The elevator worked. The grounds are well maintained. Instead of key cards we used wristbands. Very convenient. We'll be back in September. Front desk was efficient and very kind.

I stayed here before and loved it, this time got a different (smaller) room, and hated it. Loved the jacuzzi in the room we had before when I booked this one if said in the description it had it in the room. Wasn’t there. Ugh. But love the area overall. Will come back just disappointed.

Nice Facility. Great, helpful staff. Surprised by the Villa Lodge rooms. Very spacious for 5 adults and a toddler. Enjoyed the rural setting. Wildlife in the area. Disappointed by the 'green' lake so no peddle boats or fishing. But that's Mother Nature! :( Many activities to take part in throughout the day and evenings.

I was pretty disappointed with our stay here. The pictures make it look so beautiful and fun. The outdoor pool was pretty small & crowded. I dont like that they cram the villa you stay in full when the rest of them were empty. The floors are paper thin so all we heard all day & night was the people above us stomping around. In our room we had the closet where the water runs from the other rooms so heard water running for hours at all times of day and the ac units were right outside our window. Was definitely not a peaceful trip & we all barely got any sleep. The beds are super uncomfortable also. Also, the hot water only lasted 5 minutes which made using the Jacuzzi in the room kind of pointless. The resort is completely cash less so come prepared! *the water park was our favorite part!! Definitely worth the additional price. We didnt think it would be seeing as it was tiny but our kids spent hours there and had a blast! The "arcade" consisted of like 6 games-mainly all claw games. But mini golf & the threatre were fun! We decided to not finish out our stay and leave our last night there. We left about 11pm as we were all at that point sick of the noisy people above us and listening to the water run for hours. We wanted to get peaceful sleep. Overall, it wasnt a terrible trip but unsure if we woul d be open to visit again.

Everthing was perfect from the weather to the temperature of the pools no issues at all there were 6 of us all together in a 2 bedroom room plenty of space and clean and they don't mind if you smoke outside the room at all on property grounds anywhere very appropriate thanks crew there great at the resort

Bad experience. 1. At check in at 7:pm the gentleman forgot to enter the security number on the back of my card. The card declined, they made me feel stupid and stand at the side with no phone signal. I asked to swipe my card and put in a pin they had no way to let me do so. I offered to pay cash to be told they are a cashless property. I had to drive to a nearby town to get phone service to call my bank as they did not offer for me to use their phone. 2. At 8:45 we finally get to check in at the front desk (all activities on the property are now closed) 3. While telling them they entered my security code wrong as the bank told me, they continued to tell me they dont enter the number as the card declined again. I ask him to show me what he was entering to find out he was pressing enter through the security code part of the screen without entering it .(as almost two hours passed with me feeling stupid and looking stuidid like i didn't have the money) 3. He says i never had to enter it before. That was his apology no money off no free water park no nothing 2 hours and 45 minutes with a child in a car in a lot. 4. The neighbors slammed there door all night long and during the day left there doors cracked open across from each other. 5. The heating/ cooing system was in the coorner of of room with a wall and everytime it went on it sounded louder than a freight train. SAVE YOUR 200 PLUS A NIGHT SO NOT WORTH IT

The check-in process was smooth. The ladies at the front desk were nice and friendly. The room was nice, feels like an apartment. Balcony, BBQ grills outside. It was very nice overall. We will definitely be staying again.

We love the property only problem I had they charge my card to mine payments and I had to wait 3 to 5 days to get it back and it was all the lady fault that check is in that night

Overall this was a really fun little get away for our family! There is so much to do we wished we were able to stay a little longer we didnt even get to do half. Unfortunately we had some trouble at check in, we arrived at 5 and were told it would be an hour, and that is for the most part okay but when we checked in an hour we were told that it would be another hour i expressed distress and told them that really wouldnt work for us. We had food in coolers and our daughter was due for her medicine that was packed away. However the staff was great very apologetic she was able to get me into a different room and gave us $25 credit for stuff there at the resort. The unit we got into was beautiful but some of the furniture was a little worn i would say overall condition of the units are good (we had reserved a presidental) it had newer hardwood floors and the building had an elevator but the bathroom didnt have the jucuzzi tub that was advertised (it had a double shower and a soaking tub) so i called and asked if it was possible to get our original room and they did oblige we got into the unit we had reserved finally around 7 pm it was still a nice unit but had a few things very worn, with old carpet and no elevator so we had to carry everytjing down and up 2 slifhts if stairs, one of the chairs was busted and the bathroom cabinet was missing a knob, and the jucuzzi tub i wanted so bad was not very clean. Everything else was in order though and we all had a great time.

Target was a quiet stay after 2 long days on the road. This fit the bill granted as it gets warmer that might be the case as swimming weather gets better. The hiking trail took me about 35 min. There is no on property food service I didnt check out Norway store but I expect its just a C store so ottawa is nearest groc to east and south

So nice. The presidential villas were amazing. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens!! The balcony was great, just a lot of bugs! Pirate Cay is a drive away and costs to get in. Checks hours before booking. We enjoyed our stay! Very cool and not far from Chicago. Surrounding areas did have Trump signs in yard.

Nothing special, older property, Much to our disappointment the water park is geared towards small children and the hot tubs are not available off season-both were main selling points for us. Lunch counter served me raw food-I brought it to their attention and they made me another meal. I did not appreciate the 3 phone calls I received just after 0900 from the corporate office and front desk trying to sell me a time share and schedule my day. I think the check out time is probably the earliest of any hotel I have stayed at in my life. No night life. Believe me when I say you are very far from civilization. You cannot walk anywhere, there are no public transportation or ride share options. Very limited area for food and entertainment. The activities and food options on the grounds close down very early as well.

This is our second time staying here. Friendly check-in and they called the next day to see how we were enjoying everything and if we needed anything. We love the large indoor, heated pool that is open until 10pm. We bring our meals to cook. I know some reviews say dining options are not that great, but if your intentions are to cook your own meals it works out great. It's a nice, close excursion for us from Chicago. Highly recommend.

It would be nice if there was a place to dine there on site. We had to drive about 20 miles to a town to eat. Other than that the place is beautiful and the water park is so much fun. It would be nice if the price of the rooms included your entry into the waterpark especially for guests that are staying at the resort.

Loved that our room was fully furnished/stocked kitchen, all you needed to bring was food and drinks! The restaurant was was clean and the food was delish!

Only stayed for one night and didn't utilize any of the on-site amenities, but the room was very nice and clean. We were able to get early check in and connecting rooms with family. There was no breakfast option when I booked, but luckily there is a quaint little restaurant in a nearby local store that has a breakfast buffet on Sundays. Overall no complaints!
