Hotel PaPa Whale

We had a complete disappointment. Overall, we encountered an attitude that was far from being solution-oriented in communication with customers. First of all, they are very strict about the check-in time. After our 12-hour flight, we asked if we could check in just half an hour early, but this was not accepted. When we entered the room, we were greeted by incredible darkness. The room lights seem to have been designed only for sleeping. In a room without a window, having such poor lighting was a really bad experience. It was almost impossible to wake up in the morning, we could not find our belongings, and we had to use our phone flashlight while packing our suitcases. Our worst experience, however, was with the breakfast. We had paid extra for breakfast for 7 days, but the breakfast consisted entirely of regional cuisine. Of course, I respect that but there should have been at least a few simple options for international guests. Alternatively, it should have been clearly stated at the time of booking that the breakfast would consist only of this type of food. In the end, we paid for a service that we were unable to use. When we reported this issue to the reception, we simply received an "okay" response. As someone who has been to Taiwan many times before and has stayed in many hotels, I can say that this hotel does not reflect Taiwanese culture or hospitality at all.

Rooms are tiny but location and common areas were great.
