Great value. Charming boutique hotel. My room’s bath was dedicated but down the hall which isn’t ideal but it was fine. I only stayed one night. Very nice sitting area on the first floor. I made my own coffe in the coffeemaker in the morning. I didn’t hear or see any other guests. I think there are 4 rooms, total.

Overall I would recommend our stay for what it was. The main factor we stayed here was price point, location, and parking. You are able to park right in front of the house, it is an affordable price point, and is located close enough to the French quarter. You get what you pay for though. It’s not in a great area. There are allot of homeless people, run down buildings, and sketchy people nearby. If you are a young woman I would not recommend walking alone at night. There are some good places to eat nearby and it is close to the street car that will take you to the French quarter. There’s also a bus but I wouldn’t recommend taking that. The staff was nice. Melissa greeted us and gave us good recommendations. She was very kind. But don’t expect to see the staff much of your visit if at all. To get inside the house and rooms there’s codes you enter into a keypad. The room was clean but it’s a shared house. You’re door to door with people so you can hear all their business. The bathrooms are private but are outside the room so it’s a bit inconvenient. The rooms were clean and bed nice but the house smelt like there was water damage in the walls. There is also no where to fill up water on the property. There is a fridge inside the room and microwave in the kitchen. For what the place is, it’s a place to crash that’s affordable. If you want to do anything other than sleep and shower or want to be in a nicer part of town, I’d look elsewhere. Overall it’s good value I’d say.

The property is a 10-15 minute bus ride from the French Quarter. You can buy a 24 hour bus ticket (called a JazzPass) on the bus for $3 to use on all buses. The street car also goes to the French Quarter but wasn't running iwhile we were there. Melissa, the housekeeper, is lovely. She was full of useful information about places to visit and restaurants etc.

Check in was super easy. Thrilled to have free parking. The house was spotless. The thing that really caught my attention was the silence. I’ve stayed all over the city and this place was so quiet. Very comfortable.

We loved it. Affordable, no staff to worry about. Close enough to walk to both the superdome and the French quarter, but the st. Charles street cars right there! It was great. Only problem was that the WiFi was so slow as to be almost nonexistent. But other than that, a great stay.

A great place to stay. Completely restored home within walking distance to WW ll museum. Only 4 rooms with 2 people max in each. Travis the owner and Melissa the housekeeper are outstanding. Free parking right outside. A quiet place with some excellent restaurants around. When we return to New Orleans, this is where we will stay. Near the trolley line.

Accommodations are nice. One disappointment is the parking situation. Website says off-street parking is available on a limited basis. Actually, there is no off-street parking, and the street is currently being reconstructed.

The house is beautiful. Quiet and clean. Full kitchen and coffee. It was within walking distance from the trolley and far away enough from the noise. Our flight didn’t leave till the night after we checked out and they were nice enough to let us leave our suitcase in the closet downstairs so we could explore the town on our last day without carrying our luggage. Would definitely recommend

Close to everything but a little of the beaten path. A nice place to stay and convenient to get to almost anywhere in the New Orleans area. Not much of a walking area but you can grab a scooter and get to anywhere quickly. Great place to sit and relax in the main open area and the ability to use the kitchen if need be. Also has a great little restaurant at the corner of the street that is a must try.

We had a wonderful experience here at the WG Creole House. After a late arrival on Friday night, it was nice to get to walk into such an inviting, homey place. They keep rates low by not doing things like daily room cleaning during your stay or having someone there to check you in so just aware of what you’re booking - I preferred this and it all went very smoothly. Staff was very welcoming and kind and very responsive when I had a question. Rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen and dining area downstairs was a nice option when needed. You’re staying in a place that was originally built in 1850 so keep that in mind but it’s been very well maintained and cared for and we absolutely loved it. Thank you to the WG Creole House for having us! It made our first trip to New Orleans very special. Further details: close to the French Quarter but not so close that it was loud, you can catch the streetcar nearby and make your way to most nearby tourist attractions. Lots of nearby restaurants we enjoyed visiting or getting delivery from like Monday’s, Poseidon, Cleo’s, and more.

This house is beautiful! The room we stayed in was so perfect for our stay in NOLA. It was clean, spacious, easy to access, and the bed was super comfortable. Parking was very easy; we were able to park right in front of the house each day. We were a 2 minute walk from Maïs Arepas restaurant, which was so delicious. We highly recommend it. We will definitely book here again!

Spent a few days in New Orleans, staying at Creole House. We found everything clean, quiet, and comfortable. We parked right in front of the door and left the car for days while we used the trolley to get around. The resident lady (Melissa?) was so nice. We tried the arepas place a block over and enjoyed it immensely. I can’t even think of anything that would have made our stay more enjoyable.

Beautiful decor! Immacuately clean! 19th century charm! However, the best part, by far, was our hostess, Melissa. A genuine Southern Belle, she warmly greeted us and was available for local insight on where to go and how to get there. She had such a sweet spirit that it brought tears to my eyes when it was time to leave. I'll never stay anywhere else in New Orleans. She kept the parlor spotless and cozy, the perfect place to have coffee in the morning while we planned our day and read a book while my husband took a nap in the afternoon. The slow jazz that played on the antique-looking radio and the sparkling chandeliers were just the cherry on top!

The house was spotless, safe and warm. MS Melissa was there to take care of any detail problems we had, which we had none. The house was decorated for Thanksgiving the time that we were there and I’ve been down for Christmas and it’s quite something to see all the decorations that they put up.

There was no parking space and street parking was also very limited. The streets around the property where badly damaged and covered with dirt and gravel. Also, the room had not been properly vacuumed and the bathroom door was stuck and would not close. I think the hotel and its amenities are misrepresented and definitely overpriced.

Melissa the housekeeper was fantastic! She was super informative and helpful. The hotel was centrally located with quick access on foot or via trolley to everything. The room was immaculate and comfortable. We will be back!

I was very satisfied with my stay except not having a bathroom in my room. I use the bathroom at least once during the night. Getting up, leaving my room, and punching in door codes to access bathroom down the hall and reenter my room in the middle of the night really interrupted my sleep.

Comfy little gem situated close to many of the attractions NOLA has to offer. Very clean, quiet, and easy to get in and out of. I would stay here again without hesitation. I have exactly 2 complaints: there were light bulbs that were on their way out and flickering in the room, and the mattress was so squishy, my arms would fall asleep from it caving in. Seemed it wasn't properly supported. Overall, however, a great stay.

Pros: Charming, clean, and well-kept property in a great location. Cons: Privacy is an issue. The downstairs room is directly connected to the caretaker’s room, and the wall/door is so thin it feels like they’re in the room with you — you can hear every word, cough, and movement.

Great for the price , the place is very beautiful and more than feeling like a hotel it feels like you are staying in a traditional colonial house . It's also very easy to get around from there to other places in the city .

I was very disappointed by my brief stay. The bed was unbearable - a giant marshmallow, the air conditioning unit was very loud and made it impossible to sleep and while there was a window, the exterior is blocked by a shade so that no natural light can enter. I couldn’t stay there and cut short our visit. For the traveler not bothered by comfort, noise and lack of sunlight, it may work but I was miserable.

I preferred a hotel with a front staff stationed and bathroom is attached to the room. I didn't expect the bathroom was separated and had to go out of the room and punched code every time to get in. It was not convenient.

The place was clean and nice to stay at. The one issue we had was that staying in the trolley stop classy room downstairs, while we did have a private bathroom, it was located out in the hall across from the room. So any time you need to go use the bathroom or take a shower you’ll need to make sure you’re either fully clothed and presentable or risk crossing the hall in a towel. This is compounded by the fact that the bathroom has no hangers of any kind for hand or bath towels and no counter space to put clothes or towels while showering, short of wedging them into the few inches of space behind the sink. Not ideal when you need to take all of your clothes into the bathroom with you. A couple command hooks on the back of the bathroom door would have vastly improved my experience. Perfectly nice place to stay, but I’d recommend maybe bringing a bathrobe.
The place was clean and nice to stay at. The one issue we had was that staying in the trolley stop classy room downstairs, while we did have a private bathroom, it was located out in the hall across from the room. So any time you need to go use the bathroom or take a shower you’ll need to make sure you’re either fully clothed and presentable or risk crossing the hall in a towel. This is compounded by the fact that the bathroom has no hangers of any kind for hand or bath towels and no counter space to put clothes or towels while showering, short of wedging them into the few inches of space behind the sink. Not ideal when you need to take all of your clothes into the bathroom with you. A couple command hooks on the back of the bathroom door would have vastly improved my experience. Perfectly nice place to stay, but I’d recommend maybe bringing a bathrobe.

Overall I would recommend our stay for what it was. The main factor we stayed here was price point, location, and parking. You are able to park right in front of the house, it is an affordable price point, and is located close enough to the French quarter. You get what you pay for though. It’s not in a great area. There are allot of homeless people, run down buildings, and sketchy people nearby. If you are a young woman I would not recommend walking alone at night. There are some good places to eat nearby and it is close to the street car that will take you to the French quarter. There’s also a bus but I wouldn’t recommend taking that. The staff was nice. Melissa greeted us and gave us good recommendations. She was very kind. But don’t expect to see the staff much of your visit if at all. To get inside the house and rooms there’s codes you enter into a keypad. The room was clean but it’s a shared house. You’re door to door with people so you can hear all their business. WG Creole House 1850 was a lovely stay. They were incredibly accommodating when we arrived early and wanted to stow our luggage before we could check in so we could explore New Orleans! When we had some problems with our shower they were quick to help us and always communicating with us in a timely manner. The kitchen was well equipped with the microwave and coffee maker and I was able to make a quick breakfast in the microwave. I highly recommend staying here in the future for anyone coming to New Orleans!

Property description was inadequate at the reservation. No Staff. AirBNB style padlock entry. Communication only via text. The bathroom was in the hallway. VERY NOISY in the room due to a humidifier and stand-up a/c. No mirror in the room. The bed is very soft. The bathroom did not have standard amenities like moisturizer, etc. Cocount shampoo - hope you like the smell :-( Customer service over text was rude. Parking on the street. Wonderful stay. I arrived early but they had accomodations to store luggage. Melissa finished preparing room allowing early check in. She was awesome and gave me a warm welcome. She even invited me to go watch the parade with me.

The door was locked. The doorbell brought no one to the door. This was at 5pm, a normal checkin time. After fifteen minutes of ringing the doorbell and knocking on the door and window, I gave up and went to find other accommodation.

The WG Creole house is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! It was beautiful! Very clean. Our bed was so comfortable. Melissa, the housekeeper/caretaker was so kind. She lives on the property and is available if needed, but she doesn’t hover. She explained how the streetcars worked, where to get on and where it would take us, suggested great places to eat and things to do. My husband and I felt like we had the house to ourselves. We didn’t see or hear any other guests. The owner of the property was so helpful. We accidentally took a wrong turn and got lost. That was totally on us. We called the owner and he walked us back to the right street. The Creole House is in a good location. We were able to park right in front of it. If we are ever in New Orleans again, this is the ONLY place I will stay!

The house is beautiful. Quiet and clean. Full kitchen and coffee. It was within walking distance from the trolley and far away enough from the noise. Our flight didn’t leave till the night after we checked out and they were nice enough to let us leave our suitcase in the closet downstairs so we could explore the town on our last day without carrying our luggage. Would definitely recommend

LOVE the property. It felt like my home in New Orleans. It was filled with warmth, exceptionally clean and was in a convenient location. Also, Miss Melissa (the property manager/host) was lovely. I enjoyed talking with her immensely and consider her a friend! Can't wait to come back for Jazzfest in 2026. My NOLA home away from home :)

Room was in excellent condition. Clean and cool (even during 95*F+ weather). Walking distance to street car stop. Food options are available close by but used a delivery service because I was by myself with no car and surrounding area after night did not seem to be the best place to be.

Beautiful and comfortable home. Spacious and clean. Parking was freely and easily available on the street. Very quiet. Only downside was that it is on the other side of the highway from the Downtown area and is a little shabby - e.g. one evening I arrived back to find a homeless person sleeping on the doorstep!

A great place to stay. Completely restored home within walking distance to WW ll museum. Only 4 rooms with 2 people max in each. Travis the owner and Melissa the housekeeper are outstanding. Free parking right outside. A quiet place with some excellent restaurants around. When we return to New Orleans, this is where we will stay. Near the trolley line.

I highly recommend this place, it was a great place to stay. The building has character with it's high ceiling, crown molding and door frames. I stayed at several places on this trip and this was the best one. It's clean, comfortable, quiet. The location is perfect being near the French quarter and I was able to park my car in front of the building.

Big, beautiful room in an elegant mansion that was built in the 1850s but has central air and modern comforts. Features: Comfy king bed, excellent staff, and since this is a boutique hotel with very few rooms and you enjoy lots of peace, quiet, and privacy. Location The neighborhood is a tad sleepy but has lots of good restaurants and the trolley is 1.5 blocks away. It's about a one-mile walk to the French Quarter and Harrah's, the World War 2 museum, and the Superdome are even closer. I would gladly stay here again.

this place was really wonderful. Beautiful old New Orleans style and decor. We had a small deck which was nice, but not much to look at. The interior was great. The only downside was that the neighborhood was iffy. Only a block away was a large homeless encampment. We didn't have any problem with it or with our car which was parked on the street, but it doesn't make you feel very comfortable.

We had a wonderful experience here at the WG Creole House. After a late arrival on Friday night, it was nice to get to walk into such an inviting, homey place. They keep rates low by not doing things like daily room cleaning during your stay or having someone there to check you in so just aware of what you’re booking - I preferred this and it all went very smoothly. Staff was very welcoming and kind and very responsive when I had a question. Rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen and dining area downstairs was a nice option when needed. You’re staying in a place that was originally built in 1850 so keep that in mind but it’s been very well maintained and cared for and we absolutely loved it. Thank you to the WG Creole House for having us! It made our first trip to New Orleans very special. Further details: close to the French Quarter but not so close that it was loud, you can catch the streetcar nearby and make your way to most nearby tourist attractions. This house is beautiful! The room we stayed in was so perfect for our stay in NOLA. It was clean, spacious, easy to access, and the bed was super comfortable. Parking was very easy; we were able to park right in front of the house each day. We were a 2 minute walk from Maïs Arepas restaurant, which was so delicious. We highly recommend it. We will definitely book here again!

We loved the location. Perfect for catching the Mardi Gras parades and within walking distance to several areas we wanted to visit. The room was clean and comfy. My only complain was that there was a draft in the room and after 2 nights we realized there was a leak in the window… which we fixed in our own by stuffing it with clothes until we left. There was also several good places to eat within walking distance. The house lady was super nice. I would stay here again.

Great accommodation right next to downtown New Orleans. Contactless access where you get all codes conveniently in your email on the day of arrival. I had a room on the ground floor with a private bathroom, which is right next to the room across the hall and used only by you and no one else. The accommodation has a very homely and family feel to it and the owner Melissa managed to create a very welcoming and cosy atmosphere. Everything was clean, well maintained and smelled great :). What I especially appreciated were the common areas with a spacious kitchen where I could work on my laptop in peace and the vast majority of the time I was there alone and undisturbed by anyone. If you run into the owner Melissa (Hi Melissa, Jiri from Prague, CZ here :-)), she is very communicative and helpful - she arranged for me to have food delivered from a very good restaurant nearby when it was a very rainy evening and Uber Eats had unavailable or overpriced deliveries and this restaurant was not available for the same reason. I spent 4 nights in the accommodation and it was in early February when the Mardi Gras was already starting. Good advice - if you are interested in Mardi Gras, go to New Orleans primarily for that. If not, you'll enjoy the Mardi Gras parade one day, but the next you'll find it getting in the way of getting around the city and that was frustrating to the point of frustration for me - Mardi Gras was just everywhere and there was no way to avoid it :-).

Melissa the housekeeper was fantastic! She was super informative and helpful. The hotel was centrally located with quick access on foot or via trolley to everything. The room was immaculate and comfortable. We will be back!

Big, beautiful room in an elegant mansion that was built in the 1850s but has central air and modern comforts. Features: Comfy king bed, excellent staff, and since this is a boutique hotel with very few rooms and you enjoy lots of peace, quiet, and privacy. Location The neighborhood is a tad sleepy but has lots of good restaurants and the trolley is 1.5 blocks away. It's about a one-mile walk to the French Quarter and Harrah's, the World War 2 museum, and the Superdome are even closer. I would gladly stay here again.

Close to everything but a little of the beaten path. A nice place to stay and convenient to get to almost anywhere in the New Orleans area. Not much of a walking area but you can grab a scooter and get to anywhere quickly. Great place to sit and relax in the main open area and the ability to use the kitchen if need be. Also has a great little restaurant at the corner of the street that is a must try.

Superbe maison où nous avons dormi 3 nuits, au calme. Nous etions dans la chambre du rez de chaussée, très confortable (bien qu'un peu sombre) avec sa salle de douche privée attenante. Pas de petit dejeuner inclus mais comme il y a une cuisine avec un micro-ondes, et du café à disposition, nous avons pu prendre le petit-déjeuner avec nos courses faites chez Rouses, sur les conseils de la sympathique et anthousiaste hôtesse de la maison. Localisée en limite extérieure du quartier du centre-ville (de l'autre côté du pont de l'autoroute), les premières dizaines de mètres pour atteindre les quartiers touristiques ne sont pas la meilleure expérience qui soit, mais nous n'avons pas rencontré de problème particulier. Stationnement gratuit dans la rue juste devant la maison, aucun problème de stationnement non plus pendant ce sejour estival.

We had an okay stay here overall. The place was clean, and the property was perfectly adequate for a short stay, but we were a little underwhelmed given how highly it had been reviewed online. A few things were starting to feel past their best and could do with some updating. The plug-in air conditioner and dehumidifier were also quite noisy, which made it difficult to have them running while trying to sleep. The separate bathroom was fine and we knew this was the setup, although it wasn’t quite as convenient as having a bathroom attached to the room. Unfortunately, there was also a strange smell in the bathroom during our stay. The location was another slight disappointment, as the surrounding area wasn’t the nicest. We didn’t have any major problems, but it didn’t give us the impression of being in one of the more appealing parts of New Orleans. There was parking on the road outside the house and it was around a 30 minute walk to the French Quarter. Overall, the stay was fine and the cleanliness was definitely a positive, but we’re not quite sure why the property has such consistently high reviews. Perhaps our expectations were simply too high, but for us it was more of an average stay than an exceptional one.

We had a wonderful stay! The location isn’t far from public transportation, which made getting around New Orleans really convenient. The room was great—clean, comfortable, and having our own private bathroom was a huge plus. The bed was SUPER comfortable! One of my favorite things was how quiet and peaceful it was. After spending the day exploring the French Market and walking down Bourbon Street, coming back to this little sanctuary was such a welcome change of pace. The window coverings also do an amazing job of blocking out the morning sun, so sleeping in was definitely possible! They were also kind enough to hold our bags when we arrived before check-in, which allowed us to go out and enjoy the city without having to carry everything around—and that was 1,000% appreciated! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable, peaceful, convenient, and exactly what we needed after busy days exploring New Orleans. I’ve already recommended this little sanctuary to others and would absolutely stay here again! ❤️
