Perfect location just a few blocks from the church and a pickup spot for tours. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom down the hall but no problem. Cold water and mango smoothies in refrig, complete kitchen which I did not use lounging area upstairs. A very good coffee place next door with great coffee and yogurt. I will definitely stay there on my next trip ti Iceland.

Will stay here every time we are in Reykjavik. Super convenient to everything, parking is easy and free nearby. They have free bikes you can use and super cozy sitting areas and well stocked kitchens. I cannot express my gratitude enough about how wonderful the owners treated us. They made us feel like dear friends and took such wonderful care of us. This place is a true and rare gem.

Tout est parfait !!!! L accueil est tres chaleureux et l hote est plein de bon conseils. La chambre est parfaite. Il y a une cuisine à disposition ( avec un smoothie chaque jour). Au dernier etage un salon lounge tres agréable. Propreté impeccable ! Et des velos sont à disposition pour decouvrir la ville

Everything was perfect! We had a great stay, the host (Ingo) was very nice and kind, and helped me with my parking payment issue. But keep in mind that the free street parking might be limited, we were lucky to get the last parking spot at around 7:30-8:00pm. And keep in mind, the laundry is not self-service, so you may need to allow more time for the laundry company to wash and dry your clothes.

The room was smaller than what I expected, but there are common areas if you want to lounge in a more spacious area. Since I was on the go every day, the smallness wasn't much of an issue. The kitchen was fully equipped. Each floor's bathroom was furnished with soap, shampoo, and fresh towels daily. Staying warm was not a problem (I visited in early October): The bed was well made and the room was at a comfortable temperature, in fact it could get too warm, but I could remedy that by opening the window. I had a view of the famous Hallgrimskirkja. It was just one street over, which was extremely convenient as it is a major stop for tour companies and shuttle buses. It would take me just a little over five minutes to walk there. The neighborhood was a delight to walk around. I discovered a well-stocked grocery store close by too. This accommodation is self check-in and check-out. I only by chance met someone associated with the guesthouse (the proprietor?) when I first arrived. Otherwise, guests are on their own.

Lovely guesthouse, very convenient to downtown and the bus terminal, the staff was friendly, helpful and responsive, they stored my luggage in the morning until the afternoon check-in time, and the facilities were just what I needed: private room, shared bathroom, and access to a kitchen - they even provided Nespresso and smoothies! There was also a lovely common lounge on the top floor. I would certain return, and recommend to others wanting the convenience of a hotel but the coziness of a home stay.

Highly recommend. We spent our last two days in Iceland here. This is a family owned guest house with owners on site most of the day and adjacent at night. They are so nice and fun to talk to. We loved our stay in a spacious 2nd floor king size bedroom with lots of light. Rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor with a kitchen and bathroom on each floor and then an attic lounge with another small kitchen and full bathroom. We found it easy to access and use the shared bathrooms. The attic lounge has two nice tables. Free coffee/expresso machines and a large selection of teas on each floor and the host provided free orange smoothies for breakfast that were delicious. The Host also helped us find the free (on street) parking in this busy city right adjacent to the guest house. They have beautiful bikes for touring the town, but we just left the car parked and walked everywhere. This location is about a block away from the landmark Hallgrims Church, and all of the main city down to the wharves and docks is easily walk-able. Everything was super clean and nice. Thank you. Fantastic property, very well located. Family run business, they have taken exceptional attention to detail. The room was very comfortable for sleeping and spacious. The kitchen was clean and stocked with dishes and pots for cooking. They have coffee, tea and chocolates available all the time. The hosts were easily accessible and happy to help with any requests. The only downside is some noise transfer between rooms. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs!

The location couldn't be better, up close to Hallgrimskirkja and our favorite restaurant, Cafe Loki. The hosts were friendly and the property was clean. One bathroom for five rooms....but there was always a chance the one upstairs would be free.

The property was very clean, the rooms comfortable. The owners were helpful and on site. There was a sweet little lounge upstairs and outside seating. Very convenient to downtown Rekyjavik but also very quiet.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Freyja Guesthouse in Iceland. From the moment we arrived, the greeting staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and informative — they truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home and to help us get the most out of our visit. The location couldn't be better — it's within easy walking distance of many excellent restaurants, shops, and some of Reykjavik’s top sights, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. Our suite was immaculate — spotlessly clean, beautifully updated, and modern in design. It had all the comforts of home and then some. You can really tell that a lot of thought and care has gone into making the space both functional and stylish. We would not hesitate to return to Freyja Guesthouse on our next trip to Iceland, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik. A truly memorable and comfortable stay!

Nice rooms and common areas. Even shared bathroom was clean and easy to use. Although shared bathroom is probably our biggest complaint. No fans for circulating air and limited windows open for air, but trade off with blackout curtains.

SHARED BATHROOM. Ughhhh I feel like I made a mistake booking this place. It wasn't clear to me that all of the bathrooms were shared...the room is just a small room with a bed. The bathrooms are shared between all guests. The showers don't drain, the upstairs bathroom floods if you shower in it, and there's hair everywhere. I had to clean mass amounts of hair out of the shower twice. To go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, you have to walk into the very bright hallway and then the bathroom light flickers when you turn it on. You can hear the people staying next to you. Don't stay here if you are a light sleeper or want privacy and a clean bathroom. The people who run it were nice enough but I honestly have no idea how this place gets high reviews, especially for the price. It was way to expensive to feel like we were in a dorm, and this really put a damper on the last night of our honeymoon.

Wonderful stay at the Freyja Guesthouse and Suites for my family of four. Clean and comfortable family suite with a private bathroom. There is a lovely lounge with snacks and drinks to purchase. The owners were lovely and very accommodating. Location can't be bit in the center of Reykjavik and in walking distance of all main attractions and restaurants. Would highlighly recommend.

I liked that Freyja Guesthouse offers twin rooms, great for solo travelers. Very convenient to the bus station, Reykjavík airport, shopping & attractions. The viewing room on the top floor was a peaceful place to relax, and the guest kitchen with complimentary Nespresso and breakfast smoothie was an awesome amenity!

This guesthouse was wonderful. We opted for a shared bath but never had an issue with it being unavailable. The rooms are very spacious & shared kitchen has a full size fridge to use as well as coffee & tea provided. We enjoyed the 3rd floor social room and the convenient parking and walk to shops & restaurants. There is a delicious bakery nearby we went for pasties a couple mornings....YUM!

We had the family studio with private attached bathroom for our family of 3 adults. Extra sofa bed was nicely made up upon arrival. Everything is good with full kitchen facilities. Generous supply of coffee capsules and various tea bags were provided. Room was a little cold for the 2 nights stay in Oct though as heat was centrally controlled. Would be nice if it could be warmer. Other than this we had a comfortable stay. Recommended for family/group.

Highly recommend. We spent our last two days in Iceland here. This is a family owned guest house with owners on site most of the day and adjacent at night. They are so nice and fun to talk to. We loved our stay in a spacious 2nd floor king size bedroom with lots of light. The kitchen was clean and stocked with dishes and pots for cooking. They have coffee, tea and chocolates available all the time. The hosts were easily accessible and happy to help with any requests. The only downside is some noise transfer between rooms. If you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs!

Will stay here every time we are in Reykjavik. Super convenient to everything, parking is easy and free nearby. They have free bikes you can use and super cozy sitting areas and well stocked kitchens. I cannot express my gratitude enough about how wonderful the owners treated us. They made us feel like dear friends and took such wonderful care of us. This place is a true and rare gem.

Everything was perfect! We had a great stay, the host (Ingo) was very nice and kind, and helped me with my parking payment issue. But keep in mind that the free street parking might be limited, we were lucky to get the last parking spot at around 7:30-8:00pm. And keep in mind, the laundry is not self-service, so you may need to allow more time for the laundry company to wash and dry your clothes.

Lovely guesthouse, very clean and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because of delayed flight we were exhausted on arrival but our smiling host offered us an upgrade and recommended a great restaurant serving local cuisine within walking distance. So even though we had a shorter visit than planned the helpful hosts did there best to improve our stay. Highly recommend.

If you don't mind sharing a bathroom with 3 other units, this is a great please to stay in Reykjavik. Big rooms, clean, quiet and very friendly staff. Be aware that the breakfast is served in the next door café, that does not open until 08.30 AM. If you are an early bird you can opt out of the breakfast and instead use the fridge and kitchen facilitiles to prepare your own breakfast.

We didn't have time to cook and eat in but all the amenities were there. Breakfast is serviced in the cafe/art gallery nextdoor, though it's limited to a couple of preselected options.

The shared bathroom was no issue. We had a room next to the bathroom, it didn’t bother us at all. The complimentary breakfast next door was great. You get two choices and both were good. There was Specialized bikes to use , however our stay it rained and we did not use them. Room clean and neat.

Freyja Guesthouse was lovely! I loved the small touches like the fresh cake and smoothies put out every day, and the coffee. Everything was very clean, and the location was incredible, just about a 5 minute walk to the top of rainbow street. Would definitely stay here again.
