Our stay was wonderful. The staff was so helpful in sight seeing suggestions and making reservations for us. The location is seriously amazing and the breakfast options unique and delicious. My only complaint is if you have a car, parking is tough and you have to walk your suitcases on cobblestones. We found out after there is a golf cart service but it would have been nice to know that before dragging three suitcases through town.

Excellent experience overall- comfortable bed, great location on the pier, tons of shopping and food nearby. Only hiccup was we didn't realize that we can't drive up to the hotel to drop off our belongings (you have to park in the public lot or a private lot about 100-300 meters away). It's a short, pleasant walk but the first night when finding our way the GPS kept took us in circles trying to find the hotel so that was a little tiring.

Domus Reis is amazing! I loved that the property keep many architectural and artful features from the previous palace. It is in the heart of old Hania. The staff is respectful, informative and eager to please. The breakfasts were delicious. I loved the avocado toast! Free parking is available close by. I highly recommend it!

Excellent stay at this hotel. Water view was amazing, walking distance to all the restaurants, old town and the Venetian harbor. Spectacular breakfast, not a buffet with a menu to order from. If you were going to miss breakfast, they would have a box breakfast for you. Quiet at night and has an elevator. Hospitality was great, staff was very friendly and helpful.

Situated in an absolutely perfect location on the harbor, the staff was so nice and helpful. The room was very clean and nicely organized, with many amenities and provided toiletries. Highly recommend staying here and would definitely return here and stay again.

What an absolute gem. So much love and care went into this restoration of this historic 16 century Venetian hotel. We stayed 2 weeks and met everyone who works here. From reception to housekeeping and the talented chef Maria this boutique hotel was a relaxing and cosy place to come back to each afternoon. The beds were heavenly and the toiletries were olive oil based to support Cretan businesses. George , Maria,Ramona,Elena (Sophia of course) were the highlight of our days with their welcoming smiles. As well as everyone else who made us feel special. I can’t stress enough this place is special, not just because of its waterfront location on the Venetian harbour but its owners love for the building and her staff We hope to return here and we were blessed to have found it on Expedia Anita and Paul

The staff was excellent, especially George who gave us excellent excursion tips and was the friendliest server we had in Greece! All staff were very helpful, hotel is gorgeous. We had the 2 bedroom master suite and it was probably the nicest hotel room we ever had. Restaurants are all walkable and excellent. Stay away from the ones around the waterfront though. They are tourist traps. The only negative was that the shower head in the master suite upstairs was clogged and there was practically zero water pressure. We shared the kids’ bathroom for showers downstairs. I also had to ask for Expedia VIP amenity. They did bring up a small bottle of sparkly wine but I had to ask for it even though it was on the reservation. Breakfast was also excellent!

The room was excellent with an unparalleled view of the port of Chania! The staff we so friendly and attentive and were always ready to give us excellent recommendations for restaurants, beaches, activities and more! Breakfast every day was delicious (and very filling!) and getting to walk outside and be in the center of Old Chania was simply incredible!

Our family of four had an amazing stay in the Dondolo suite for our three day visit to Chania. The service was impeccable, food outstanding, and the staff was so accommodating (ie, we forgot a converter plug and they had one for us to use). We also enjoyed a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and charcuterie board on our amazing balcony overlooking Old Town. The location cannot be beat. We also enjoyed spending our down time at Zepos on their comfy couches ordering almost everything on its menu. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the Domus Renier to anyone staying in Chania.

Second time in Chania—which I love—but first time at this hotel. Travelling with family and we stayed in the Master Suite. Hotel description and photographs are perfectly accurate so there’s no need repeating them, but the hotel nevertheless managed to exceed our expectations in every way. The owner and all members of the staff that we encountered were spectacular—extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Will be returning to stay again at some point.

Five starts do not seem enough for this hotel , the whole staff are truly exceptional and made our stay so special. From breakfast , reception to the cleaning staff, everyone provided a level of customer service that is beyond anything I have ever received in any other hotel. A special mention must go out to the breakfast !! It is incredible

The staff were very kind and helpful for the most part except that about a week before I arrived, I asked if they could help me book a massage treatment and they said to do that when I arrive. Of course I asked again on arrival and they said they would call me to confirm a booking. I never heard from them. I also asked about seeing some live music and again never heard back about that. It’s a lovely hotel but reception is set up in an atrium so of course any noise carries up to the rooms. There is a very loud restaurant nearby that played loud music (not live) until late into the night. Also, a room nearby had guests that were up at 3:45am and I could hear their floor boards creaking. So not a quiet place to rest at all. Still, the views are spectacular and the hammam shower was wonderful. I’d stay again. Note, I did not receive my Expedia VIP gift.

The breakfast was beyond wonderful! So many choices each day! Exquisite coffees, pastries, egg dishes, etc. Ocean view!!! The staff was a 20 out of 10. Highly recommend!

The staff is respectful, informative and eager to please. The breakfasts were delicious. I loved the avocado toast! Free parking is available close by. I highly recommend it!

The staff was excellent, especially George who gave us excellent excursion tips and was the friendliest server we had in Greece! All staff were very helpful, hotel is gorgeous. We had the 2 bedroom master suite and it was probably the nicest hotel room we ever had. Restaurants are all walkable and excellent. Stay away from the ones around the waterfront though. They are tourist traps. The only negative was that the shower head in the master suite upstairs was clogged and there was practically zero water pressure. We shared the kids’ bathroom for showers downstairs. I also had to ask for Expedia VIP amenity. They did bring up a small bottle of sparkly wine but I had to ask for it even though it was on the reservation. Breakfast was also excellent!

Staff was amazingly helpful. For my birthday the staff helped arrange a cake to celebrate my birthday which was one of the best desserts I remember having(something like a dulce de leche mousse cake). The owner Litsa was very kind and made sure we had a table at the restaurant and greeted us every time we came back to the hotel.

Excellent experience overall- comfortable bed, great location on the pier, tons of shopping and food nearby. Only hiccup was we didn't realize that we can't drive up to the hotel to drop off our belongings (you have to park in the public lot or a private lot about 100-300 meters away). It's a short, pleasant walk but the first night when finding our way the GPS kept took us in circles trying to find the hotel so that was a little tiring.

Five starts do not seem enough for this hotel , the whole staff are truly exceptional and made our stay so special. From breakfast , reception to the cleaning staff, everyone provided a level of customer service that is beyond anything I have ever received in any other hotel. Being this was my very first trip to Greece, planning was based off of reviews like this…and this property did not disappoint and was a perfect introduction to Greece. The staff was incredible! They helped guide us with where to eat, what to do and made our stay as comfortable as possible! A big highlight was the free breakfast every morning!! It was INCREDIBLE! Everything was freshly made that morning and was delicious! The location was central and walking distance to everything! The tiny streets and alleys had their own character and felt like each turn led to hidden gems and charming stores. The room itself was small and cozy but never felt claustrophobic. I do wish the bathroom had some sort of ventilation system and shower had more pressure… but that’s just nit-picking… I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Chania!

Superb service. Elegant accommodations and the view to the Venetian harbor is spectacular. The breakfast is made to order and the food quality and dining patio are excellent. Very friendly staff makes this an exceptional experience. Interior design is magnificent, and fits this beautifully renovated Venetian Mansion.

Un hôtel incroyable ! Situé sur le port, dans un lieu chargé d’histoire, puisque c’est là où la famille Renier, famille aristocrate du 17e siècle a habité. Famille très importante de la Canée. La chambre sublime, décoration, lit, douche et la surprise le jacuzzi sur la terrasse de la chambre! Seul bémol le sol de la chambre qui est un type de lino imitation bois, étonnement vu la qualité du reste des matériaux utilisés … Ça aurait pu être parfait si il y avait pas eu à 5h du matin le coffre de la chambre qui s’est mis à bippé, un message indiquant « error » j’ai du le débranché pour que ça s’arrête.. Ce désagrément a été rattrapé par le super petit déjeuner que l’on a pris dans le patio qui donnait sur une des vieille rue de la ville … moment suspendu…

We recently stayed for five nights at Domus Renier Boutique Hotel in the top-floor apartment with balcony, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, full of character and charm, and the location overlooking the old harbour of Chania is simply perfect. Our apartment was amazing, incredibly spacious, with two separate bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, a large lounge area, and the most wonderful balcony with breathtaking harbour views. It was absolute bliss and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. The hospitality from the team was outstanding. A special mention to George, he helped us with our luggage on arrival and departure and always greeted us with the biggest smile. Such a lovely young man with a fantastic attitude towards hospitality, and we are sure he has a very bright future ahead of him. Eleftheria at reception was also wonderful, incredibly friendly, helpful, and always available with excellent recommendations for trips and places to visit around Chania. She genuinely cared about making sure we had the best possible stay. The breakfast was exceptional, with high-quality food served by a team who truly wanted to look after their guests. We were so happy we stayed at this charming and sophisticated boutique hotel. It is a little gem in the heart of the historic area. Our room had wonderful views of the water and it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The staff was amazing, starting with the owner who personally walked around greeting guests.
