Friendly staff, clean room, close to shops and dining, pool and hot tub, quiet, lovely resort

Pool and hot tub are nice. Took a while to check in. Answering phone was more important than two customers at counter. Room was clean but small. Was next to an entrance and very noisy til anout 11pm. Dont stay in room 111 due to noise. Was clean and price was good compared to other hotels even though room was just big enough for the bed.

I was put off at checkin when the desk agent lectured me on booking through Expedia saying it’s fine to look for places on outside sites, but then I should contact the property directly. There was a nice patio area outside the pool, but the access was locked so it could not be enjoyed. The evening desk attendant saw us in the pool area and did not offer assistance. The front desk was also unmanned when we checked out after 8:00am. Honestly, I would not recommend staying here.

Very nice suites with balcony. Nothing great from a views perspective. Feels further from town than it is. Walkable for some but not all. Lobby needs to be improved to match how nice the rest of the place is. Makes it feel cheap and convenience store like. But overall super nice rooms. Large. Staff was friendly but we were there one night.

It was a very quiet spot, but grounds were not well kept. Nothing had been mowed. It seemed almost deserted regarding service. Doors were locked at 9pm, and you couldn’t exit from the main entrance at 8 am with no one around or at the front desk. Just not very welcoming!

A great location in Fish Creek. Clean and quiet. Best Hot Tub I have used in a long time!

The staff greeted us warmly. Our room was very much a budget kind of room. Nothing special, but seemed clean. A musty damp smell was constant, and for us, a turn off. Rooms are expensive in Fish Creek, we understand, we paid over $200 for this room for the location. The room was much more of a $99 or less type room.

For $200 a nice, this was not a good experience. Hallway subflooring is hollow and poorly supported so footsteps can be heard a mile away. Our rooms sliding patio door had been left unlocked and there were dirty coffee grounds in the maker. The entire bathroom sink countertop had settled or moved and was never reset properly. Room had a musky smell to it and their whirlpool hrs were not convenient (opens 8:45am & closes 9:45pm???). I wasn't expecting much but it wasn't even a busy weekend for door county so why the extreme cost for below average conditions?

The blankets have a bad smell. Sheets were clean. No deadbolt on door from inside. Not safe for single traveler. Toilet constantly running water. Very pricey for accommodations in room.

Staff at check in very polite and went south introducing information about facility very concise. The room in itself, could use additional garbage containers in room. Possibly coffee maker. Ceiling very dirty above bed. Not the best place but not the worst. But surely does not match the description of a resort. More like a minimalist motel room

Our room smelled so bad and mold and musk we left a day early defiantlywould not recommend staying here very dirty And unkepped!!!!

The property looks newer from the outside but in actuality, the rooms look much older..circa 1960s. Our room was exceptionally clean howerver as was the pool area. The showers were hot with good pressure, the beds comfy enough and it was quiet. For a hotel room in this price point, we were very pleased. Would stay again.

The property is old but it’s part of its charm … we found it to very clean and Lyn is very hospitable. They are in true Door County spirit taking care of us as if we were family! It’s not the big city vibe that so much of Door County has fallen to but rather the honest sincere service that really hopes you enjoy your stay and they do all they can to see to it you do … from coupons for local business to soft fluffy pillows… we will so be back!! Thanks Lyn … thanks to your family and your helpers everyone was fabulous!!

Apple Creek is always a solid choice and a great value. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable. The center of town is only a minute or two by car and 10 minutes on foot. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful.

Our room at Apple Creek was comfortable, clean and roomy and suited our purposes. Loved having the balcony. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. However, this was an older facility that easily could stand an updating. The tub should be changed out for a walk-in shower.

The resort was conveniently located in the heart of Door County. The room was nice with a private balcony.

I’d use the “resort” word loosely. The rooms clearly haven’t been updated in any way probably since the hotel was built. The pictures make the place look nicer than it is. If your looking to stay at a Howard Johnson circa 1979 this is the place for you.

Front staff was professional and helpful. Rooms were of average cleanliness and condition. The walls are a bit thin and you can hear a lot of bumping in other rooms at times. Otherwise a decent stay for the price.

Last minute trip...pool area was decent, rooms are a bit outdated with a tiny tv. No breakfast and not even coffee in the lobby. Was fine for being last minute but probably won't stay again.

Small Rooms, Older, Uncomfortable Bed

Needs updating and the beds were not comfortable, the staff were pretty nice.

Ok hotel. Lobby smells of Lysol or something like it. Interiors done on lowest possible budget and with zero personality that reflects beauty of surrounding nature. Bare sterile walls in bathrooms. Tiny old pictures. They could have at least tried by adding some large nature photography prints or some old retro style posters or something. Overpriced. But reasonably clean, not too old of building, nice staff.

Lynne and the younger man that work the desk were extremely personable and accommodating. I worked a wedding for hair and makeup, my mom sharing the room with me would have had to wait 2 hours outside the original check out time, but they allowed me to extended my checkout time while working with Expedia to make sure my stay was as seamless as possible and did not make a fuss over the change! Also left a clothing item in my room and they had it folded nicely waiting for me even after checkout. So nice and sweet, they have that lovable Wisconsin hospitality 😊

I’m not sure what’s going on in the hotel industry as I frequently stay at hotels due to work and leisure. But they are severely suffering and lacking the hospitality portion of their industry. I have stayed at Apple Creek resorts 2 separate times for business as we are renovating a house in baileys harbor. It was a place to sleep, the rooms are extremely dated, beds terribly uncomfortable, they have tons of out of the norm “rules” posted everywhere, but with very little inventory available, it was one of the only properties with vacancies (now I know why) and with having my kids one of the trips it had a pool! Front desk person (who I found out later was the owner) was scattered and unorganized. I soon established she was just having a bad day and tried to look past it. However, after looking at my credit card statement the following month I saw that they had charged me 3 different charges for the same stay. When I tried to call for clarification, as to the charges, I was spoken over, never given the opportunity to clarify the dates and charges or get an explanation before I was rudely snapped at yelled at and then hung up on. This person owns the hotel, she is rude, crass and unprofessional. You will have a very difficult time getting a hold of anyone before 10am or after 10pm…so watch out if you have a maintenance emergency or need extra towels. She has zero manners and has allowed her personal issues to take priority over her customers service or even basic kindness.

I love the owner of this resort for their help in guiding us around town. Telling us which place to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. She was so kind enough to give a bottle of wine as a gift when I told her that we are here to celebrate our marriage anniversary.

The staff and the hotel were amazing at this place! It is a small, family run business, and they go out of their way to make sure that you are taken care of and treated like part of the family. Shopping is right across the street within walking distance, and parking is very convenient. While you are off of the beaten path from the hectic areas of town, you are still a short distance away from everything! I’ll definitely be back!

No frills in the room, but it was a nice location and clean. The service was good and they had a pool and hot tub. Simply a place to lay your head at night.

The property was about ¾ mile away from the main shopping area in Fish Creek. I liked the quiet area - but it was close enough to walk to the shops. The owner greeted me and personally gave me info about the property and the town. The room was no frills but clean and comfortable.

Lynn was very helpful providing information on the best activities and resturants in the area. We loved our stay!

We liked: The owner gave us good advices for sightseeing, restaurants and great places. We missed: a coffeemaker, especially because there were no breakfast opportunity on the premises. And we would have liked a room service after the first (of two) nights - i.e. bathroom and trash cleaning.

Location was good. Hallway floor creaked when someone walked by. Heard tv from next room. No coffee pot. Loved hot tub.

The owner and weekend checkin gal were so friendly and helped us navigate the county….presenting us with a map and highlighted the “things to be sure to see and do” while there. And we did…it is a very welcoming spot to stay and if and when I return I will for sure book again.

The place is very clean, lots of information on places to visit and eat, and a good place to rest, the owner is very friendly. I will definitely return in fall!!

Book this property on Expedia late at night on the road. Was limited rooms to stay for there was a festival going on and another town. Misplaced needs rooms updated they have a small coffee pot in the room. They have nothing for breakfast. And if you want more coffee you have to go somewhere else. They don't serve it in the lobby. For $285 a night you would think they would have coffee in their lobby. I would suggest staying somewhere else I see why they had vacancy!!!😠 Oh and you will not get your money back after you get there even if you have to leave early or on emergency no refunds remember that!!!!!
