Fabulous vibe. Gorgeous industrial design. Epic location. We didn’t want to leave!!! Only pet down was the pool. It was a small dipping triangle and the area was full of adults drinking so kids were a bit sad but otherwise- fabulous!

Rooms were small but very nice. Did not expect or appreciate the resort fee. The rooftop bar (the best part of the hotel in my opinion) says it's open until midnight but they do last call at 11 and don't let you up past then, so I consider it misleading to say it's open until midnight.

I was almost scalded in shower by temperature change of water, I set temperature but it suddenly turned hot as I leaped from shower. I prefer baths, you must request prior to visit. This happened twice. It was a New Year visit, guests were very noisy and loud in rooms and hallways until 3:45am, had to ask next door guests to quiet down. No parking on-site but Valet parking charge $49 a day. Hotel guests weren’t allowed to participate in New Year Celebration festivities, on site, no offer mentioned at time of booking. Rooftop pool was closed. Hotel needs to expand services like laundry, gift shop, newspapers, Hotel exceptionally clean, staff professional, patient, friendly. Hotel has three bars, meeting room adjacent side, room service, front desk staff and waitstaff accommodating. First floor Dining experience was very good, servers very nice. Bathroom on 2nd floor. I probably won’t return but I’d rate high 8 out of 10

Only thing that was disappointing was that each of the restaurant/bars on property were closed each night for private events. This was not disclosed at all in our booking process.

We had a great stay at The Robey. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There were some issues with an elevator (it’s an older building) and although I was only asking whether it was currently functional, the staff later let me know they comped a couple nights of valet parking for any inconvenience. We would definitely stay again. The location, right next to the blue line and walking distance to amazing food (Mindy’s Bakery, Taqueria Chignon, etc) is perfect.

This was a beautifully updated Art Deco hotel with attention to detail, including push button light switches. There are five restaurants/bars in the hotel. Excellent service and lots of activity. Hotel is a block from "L" train to downtown.

Great location in West Town, a diverse eclectic place. Walkable to good food and drink, and next to El line downtown or airport(use it...parking is limited and an extra $50 a night. We stayed in the newer, redone warehouse. bigger room very simple and indie. Good place, bars, skyline view, and restaurant.

My friends and I were excited to go look at the view of Chicago from the Cabana Club on the 6th floor. After looking around for a few minutes, an extremely rude employee started walking towards us with a bad look on her face and when she got to the outdoor part said “You’re not allowed to be up here, it’s closed for a private party.” After telling her that neither my friends nor I were aware of this she rudely proclaimed that there was a sign on the first floor. We apologized for not knowing, or having seen the sign, and so we went back to our room. When we were back at the lobby subsequently, we found a sign next to the elevator that simply stated, “Closed for a private event”. But what happened to be closed for a private event was not actually indicated anywhere on this sign. It could have just as well been in reference to the Robey Cafe, which is right there in the hotel lobby only steps away from the sign. It was just very frustrating to get unrightfully chewed out by a member of the staff who had no intention of being forgiving or understanding of a simple mistake. I mean, god forbid we are able to use all of the amenities that are advertised to come with a stay that I pay my hard earned money for, right?

there seems to be two different levels of quality and my room was in a strange side building. My room was a cross between a janitor closet and a dorm room. Cement ceilings and duct work running through as well as wall mounted basin for a sink. Lockers and a bunk bed. No desk or anywhere to put things. Forced to work from the bed. Also the shower curtain was not an appropriate length and so water went everywhere on very slippery floors. There was not even any hooks in the bathroom nor any counter so there was no where to put anything. Bright spot are the bars and the staff was very nice. I would go again to the rooftop bar but not to stay.

We enjoyed our stay, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean with incredible views. We loved convenience for our needs and Robey cafe downstairs was superb. It’s an older building: our bathroom sink would clog frequently and the shower water took time to stop after shutting off. Otherwise, a charming stay. It is quite pricey but met our overall needs very well. Staff were lovely and attentive.

Every aspect of the room was impeccable. The bathroom was super clean and organized. The bed and the floor were clean. The curtains were also clean, well maintained and easy to open. This landmark is truly well maintained. Love your R venue. Vibe is all that! Staff is awesome and friendly! :-)

This location is great place to launch a visit to Chicago. The rail is right around the corner and buses pass in all directions. There are so many great and affordable dining options within a short walk from the Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Most importantly, they are quiet which is something hard to find in the city. I plan to stay here again.

The shower was really nice except for the large gap between the bottom of the shower and the bottom of the shower curtain. HUGE puddle outside on the floor. Housekeeping must hate that, plus it's a slipping hazard

Good restaurant on the first floor and a great bar on the 6th floor rooftop bar with great views of the city. The staff were very good and helpful. Our bed was comfortable and our room was very clean. The hotel is adjacent to the elevated train and the hotel had a noise machine provided in the room. There was a DJ playing music close by that Saturday evening, so the sound machine came in handy.

Beautiful room and hotel. The booking communication from The Robey was excellent. The roof is gorgeous. Neighborhood is phenomenal. Bottom bunk bed was like a blow up mattress very uncomfortable.

The room was so incredibly small hardly any room to walk around the bed. Nowhere to even place small carryon suitcase to open and unpack; had to put suitcase on bed. So overpriced!

Lovely hotel with comfortable bed, beautiful room, excellent dining and bar experiences (3 on property). Service was impeccable and the neighborhood is fun with lots to do. My only discomfort was the lack of a bureau to put clothes away. The bathroom, while large, had very little space to unpack cosmetics and such.

I like the location very much . However the room was too compact for me I need a desk to use my computer or write a note. There was no bathrobe which I think is a mistake The bathroom sink is small and not enough space to put my toothbrush makeup etc I also don’t like using a paper cut for water The cafe Robey was excellent

Rooms are very small, think European small, but the view and bar compensate and who spends time in a hotel room when they are in Chicago! Love the neighborhood bars and restaurants.

Very nice place, small rooms which we were aware of. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great shower! Would have appreciated a small nightstand on my side of my bed. Used my suitcase instead.

It’s way too loud. Doors don’t seal at bottom and you can hear everything in the halls. Train noise is super loud. Sound machine in our room was broken.

Convenient location. The staff was hit and miss. Some of the people working at the front desk were not very friendly/warm and did not speak slowly or clearly when they were explaining things. I had to ask them to repeat what they said ... I am 40 years old and not hard of hearing. I had to ask them to repeat what they said ... I am 40 years old and not hard of hearing. I was initially given Rm 312 which I have stayed in before which is over the nightclub and very noisy. I asked to be moved to a quiet room. Being handicap accessible was not necessary, but the hotel was able to move us on a very busy weekend which was hugely appreciated. The new room in the 5th floor was great. It is a small and very busy hotel and everyone there is very nice. I especially like the all day brunch in the restaurant. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at The Robey. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There were some issues with an elevator (it’s an older building) and although I was only asking whether it was currently functional, the staff later let me know they comped a couple nights of valet parking for any inconvenience. We would definitely stay again. The location, right next to the blue line and walking distance to amazing food (Mindy’s Bakery, Taqueria Chignon, etc) is perfect.

We’ve never stayed at this property but decided last minute for a staycation just parents. Check in was at 3 but they were a bit behind and the checkin desk kindly gave us 2 drink tokens for the bar they have a partnership with and a bfast order for the next day, which was very thoughtful and appreciated. We’ll definitely stay here again.

My friends and I were excited to go look at the view of Chicago from the Cabana Club on the 6th floor. After looking around for a few minutes, an extremely rude employee started walking towards us with a bad look on her face and when she got to the outdoor part said “You’re not allowed to be up here, it’s closed for a private party.” After telling her that neither my friends nor I were aware of this she rudely proclaimed that there was a sign on the first floor. We apologized for not knowing, or having seen the sign, and so we went back to our room. When we were back at the lobby subsequently, we found a sign next to the elevator that simply stated, “Closed for a private event”. But what happened to be closed for a private event was not actually indicated anywhere on this sign. It could have just as well been in reference to the Robey Cafe, which is right there in the hotel lobby only steps away from the sign. It was just very frustrating to get unrightfully chewed out by a member of the staff who had no intention of being forgiving or understanding of a simple mistake. I mean, god forbid we are able to use all of the amenities that are advertised to come with a stay that I pay my hard earned money for, right?

Great location - amazing rooftop bar. Would definitely stay there again. Close to train but didn’t even need the sound machine in room. Bed was really comfortable- great night sleep! Cool historic building.

This location is great place to launch a visit to Chicago. The rail is right around the corner and buses pass in all directions. There are so many great and affordable dining options within a short walk from the Hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Most importantly, they are quiet which is something hard to find in the city. I plan to stay here again.

Great location in West Town, a diverse eclectic place. Walkable to good food and drink, and next to El line downtown or airport(use it...parking is limited and an extra $50 a night. We stayed in the newer, redone warehouse. bigger room very simple and indie. Good place, bars, skyline view, and restaurant.

Lovely hotel with comfortable bed, beautiful room, excellent dining and bar experiences (3 on property). Service was impeccable and the neighborhood is fun with lots to do. My only discomfort was the lack of a bureau to put clothes away. The bathroom, while large, had very little space to unpack cosmetics and such.

Only thing that was disappointing was that each of the restaurant/bars on property were closed each night for private events. This was not disclosed at all in our booking process.

The Robey is a beautiful building which has been skillfully changed from a bank to a hotel. The bar on the top floor is sensational, although there were limited food/snack options. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My only critique would be the rooms are very small. They are well appointed although keeping with the 1930 vibe, items such as a rotary phone etc do take up room so difficult a place to put own things e.g. mobile phone, book, etc. Also the light switches took a while to figure how they worked. The bathroom had good water pressure and the water hot, unfortunately water did go all over the floor as the door kept sweeping the bathmat across the floor. Apart from the size of the room, it is a lovely hotel located in Wicker Park. Very charming.

This was a beautifully updated Art Deco hotel with attention to detail, including push button light switches. There are five restaurants/bars in the hotel. Excellent service and lots of activity. Hotel is a block from "L" train to downtown.

Kid friendly but also not a noisy hotel. Great location for Wrigley Field and street festivals. Will definitely visit again when needing to stay in the city!

We always stay at The Roby if we can when in Chicago. It’s right on the blue line in Wicker Park/Bucktown, so very convenient to O’Hare. Rooms are nicely designed, especially the larger annex loft rooms. The main restaurant is convenient and quite good and the rooftop bar is not to be missed for its outdoor space and views. Staff are wonderful.
