Ferryman`s Cottage at The Beetle & Wedge

My third stay here whilst on business in the area. My wife and I had also eaten here a couple of weeks back whilst in the area, as we always do. Archie was very friendly and helpful at check in, as was his colleague behind the bar ( sorry ! I didn’t catch her name). I was in the Belle Suite this time, the room was lovely with all the amenities you’d expect - including a fridge, coffee machine and spacious, clean bathroom. The bed was really comfortable and once people and cars turning up or leaving the pub / restaurant had quietened down, a lovely quiet night. I’ll be staying again in a few weeks, this place never disappoints. Sitting by the river in the sunshine with a drink after my 4 hour drive was just what the doctor ordered. Another lovely stay here. Ben was excellent at check in, made me feel really welcome. The room was great again, lovely to sit by the river with a drink in the sunshine. Got up early the next morning before travelling to work locally, sat by the river, writing as the sun came up - perfect.

The staff were so amazing and helpful

Right next to the river and the restaurant, which is a very well run and picturesque restaurant. Fantastic breakfast, we dined right on the river. Something to watch out for though is if you’re an arachnophobe, you may have some issues. Being close to the river, the rooms can attract rather large spiders. Other than that, it’s amazing! I highly recommend it.

A delightful suite in a cottage next to The Beetle and Wedge pub, beside the Thames. A cosy, well equipped room with a coffee machine, tea and proper milk provided, plus a good ensuite. Breakfast was sensibly priced and tasty, taken overlooking the river. Staff were friendly and helpful, and parking was easy. All in all a lovely location and a good room for exploring the area.
