Seaport Village Inn, Avalon

Hello, I love Catalina and have been there a couple of times. Unfortunately, we didn’t have much luck with our hotel this time. The hotel was marketed as being on Main Street, but it’s actually up the hill from Main Street. I’m pointing this out because my dad has walking disabilities, and we specifically wanted something very close to the main beach and bars. When we arrived, there was no power at all, so there was no way to check in or access the internet, and we ended up spending quite some time there waiting. The hotel itself also had a very strange, almost haunted feel to it. It seemed like people might actually be living there, with so many belongings and items in front of the doors. Many of the windows were broken or cracked, and since we were a group of eight, we did not feel safe at all. Our rooms were in the back of the hotel, facing a lot of construction materials, with people walking around the area. Overall, it was a very weird and uncomfortable vibe, and unfortunately, it was not the experience we were expecting.

Rooms haven’t been updated in decades. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. Our bed was a Murphy bed from the last century with a cheap mattress. The prices are 5x the value/quality.

It was appallingly bad. In every way. And it wasn’t cheap either. We paid $900 for two nights and it was so disgusting we didn’t even want to take a shower and waited until we returned home.

Everything was soooo bad. not recommended for almost $600.00 per night. i will start with shower. hard to understand how it works and then not hot water at all. the pressure was bad. in addition the smell of the room was very very bad. the beds very uncomfortable. the only nice thing is that you have a balcony. air condition is a physical unit that makes strong noise that we couldn't sleep all night in addition to horrible mattresses. i have nothing good to say about the place and the price they charged us. i am seeking refund.

La « suite » était extrêmement vieilliotte et miteuse. La climatisation d’un autre âge se mettant en route bruyamment dans la nuit. La salle de bain nous renvoyait dans les années 80. Le staff n’était intéressé que par notre heure de départ et le spa au milieu de la cour intérieure montrait une eau jaunâtre. La suite était propre mais ne correspondait pas du tout aux photos sur le site. Ils ont dû rénover une seule suite qu’ils mettent en avant sur leur site. Ne vaut certainement pas les 400$ payés.
