Mykonos Essence Adults Only

Not sure it’s 4* but clean and comfortable with pleasant staff. Up a steep hill from busy beach. Needs some maintenance which will maybe get done after summer season. Several sun loungers around pool need repaired / replaced. We ate lunch every day with a couple of drinks - very few diners - we’re often on our own. €4.50 for a bottle of water is not realistic and feels like profiteering. They say it’s local taxes but I’m not convinced. We tipped bar staff at every meal and tipped maid for good service over 5 nights. Further tips ‘offered’ to be be billed on top of tourist tax at check out - suggest not appropriate but didn’t bother me.

El aire acondicionado no funcionaba, me explicaron que era un problema tecnico y q no era su responsabilidad y no podía hacer nada por el momento, a 30°C. Cambié de hotel de inmediato

The hotel was up a steep slope. The room was clean, the towel's were old and gray. The breakfast was nice The pool area was quiet, bean bag bed didn’t look clean. Reception was friendly and helpful.

We absolutely adored our stay at Mykonos Essence. I have to give a big shoutout to the staff who were so friendly, superb and the most helpful staff I’ve encountered in a hotel for many years! The hotel itself is very pretty, well maintained and feels authentically Greek; with stone walls and blue and white decor. Our room had a stunning view of the sea and the pool, and a large terrace, which was fantastic! The pool is lovely, well maintained and great to swim in and the beach is a less than 5 minute walk away. It was nice to have options! The breakfast was delicious, well made and there are plenty of options for everyone. In particular, the French Toast was scrumptious! The location of Essence is perfectly situated in the town of Ornos; a quiet town on the southwestern coast of Mykonos with some wonderful authentic (and affordable) authentic Greek restaurants and that delightful beach. There are some terrific beach bars and really nice cafes in the area too! It’s an ideal location if you want to chill by the beach and choose which days to go into the hubbub of Chora. You can get a short bus into Chora (Mykonos Town) which takes less than 10 minutes and costs £2.20 per person. It’s a good alternative to taxis which can add up and be more expensive. Finally, the hotel bar has delicious light snacks. Try them out on a pool day and you won’t regret it! I couldn’t recommend Mykonos Essence enough and hope to return in the not so distant future!
