Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sudbury

We booked the hotel because it has a pool and hot tub. When we arrived we were informed the pool area was closed for renovations. At no point was this noted on our reservation. A discount should have been provided and of course wasn't.

The hot tub wasnt working. When I checked before registering it was then it wasnt working. Sexond time at same hotel.

Staff at reception was very courteous, deficient & friendly. A breath of fresh air these days. Cleanliness in pool area however was very poor. Big chunks of hair everywhere around the pool. Approximately 5 different boys were continuously jumping (water bombs) and no respect for otjhers. Only one of these boys was accompanied by his parents.

Hotel is modern and clean, showers however leak onto floor and cause a mess as there are no shower doors in some rooms. Breakfast attendant is very grouchy and is always seemingly inconvenienced by the guests preparing their meal. Pool and spa are nice, gym equipment was out of order which is a disappointment.

Nice hotel BUT only 1 elevator working, the other was out of order. You would wait a bit for it. They ran out of toliet paper so I had to request extra rolls on the Wednesday. I was told there order wasnt coming till Friday. And lastly it was busy in the morning and there definitely wasnt enough seating for you to eat breakfast.

Stay was ok, no big concerns. The bathtubs has old silicone popping out with mold under it and the cables connecting TV and the doc were all out of the box and in the floor. My main complaint is that the gym open just 7am (during business week days).. who work leaves 7am to work, so having it open earlier would be better

love that they have a hot tub but didn't like that the jets were not working as well as they should, was more like a hot bath. And there was something sticking out in the pool with a long cord which I thought was dangerous. Also wich they had other meat at breakfast. But over all the rooms are clean the staff is always friendly I still go hear I just go elsewhere for breakfast.

There is ample parking for trailers which we needed. The room was clean. It is in a great location. The hot-tub was luke warm and dirty. That weekend the pool was full of kids up to 10 pm. I wish like other hotels they offered an adult time from 10 - 11 pm.

I booked this hotel specifically for the hot tub and was extremely disappointed to learn when I got there that the pool and hot tub had been closed for maintenance/repair. It had been closed for some time as they were redoing the pool area flooring but yet no one communicated this until I was already there. I paid the same price as I always do with those amenities and felt I should have been comped or discounted for not having the service I specifically booked for.

unfortunately the bed had a bandaid in it and we didn’t notice right away. other than that the property was clean and quiet!

The room smelled, washroom smelled like sewage Bed pillows were used and unclean with hair on pillows on bed and pillows Iron had brown water that ruined my shirt! And i didnt get a full refund or any compensation.

Bathroom in room could have been cleaned better - mold all around sink grout and physical dirt in corners in bathroom

Location was great with lots of shopping and restaurants within a walking distance. Staff were all very friendly. The problems I have are the cleanliness of the room and the pool. The surfaces in the room were very dusty, the phone and remote were sticky, and the bathroom had a bad smell for the whole duration of our stay. The pool water seemed dirty as well. Overall stay was ok. Would not stay again.

I had previously stayed at the Microtel a couple years ago and enjoyed it. Decided to come back this year while visiting Sudbury. Was unfortunately a little disappointed this time around. Dirty children's socks from previous guests were left in room, one in a very obvious place, and another on the desk. There were mysterious orange / brown splatter stains on the duvets which was a little distressing to see. Customer service at front desk upon arrival seemed a little irritable and unapproachable, I got the impression that I was annoying her while checking in. When checking out, the experience was better, a different person. The breakfast was very disappointing; broken waffle maker so we had to wait a while to use the operational one, but I can understand it would take a while to fix... the coffee machine spewed out scalding hot coffee, so even when double cupping it was burning my hand to hold and bring to my friend, all of the apples were old, bruised and mushy. On a positive note, the hotel itself is in a nice location, next to shopping and food options. Nice building overall. It feels safe in the parking area and the building externally looked well maintained and appealing. It's nice that it's got a pool, though I didn't get a chance to see it, so I can't speak to the conditions of that. The room aesthetically was nice. Overall, better than other locations I've stayed at in Sudbury, but a little disappointed for the price point, and likely to stay elsewhere next time.

Room 231 is next to a noisy room, like machines going all night. Also, there are no safety bars in the shower. Otherwise, the room was clean, and the staff was excellent. Overall, we were happy with our stay. We will visit again. Thank you.

We could hear the noises in the hallways and knocking on neighbors door.

The wi-fi was unreliable, which was disappointing.

Nice rooms with space for a family. Bathroom showed some wear and has limited counter space around the sink. The AC in the buildings had the hallways really cold.

It's 2025 and no smart tv in the rooms? Yeah, no thanks. No coming back. Other than that the hotel is ok.

We've stayed here multiple times but will not book again. Everytime we are bothered by lack of sound proofing. You hear the people in the hall, the people above and the people below. This time we even heard every drop of rain hit the fixtures outside our windows. Awful sleep everytime. Not worth it.

The hotel itself was great. Clean quiet, comfy beds. My only complaint would be the room we stayed in was right above the entrance and every time the automatic door opened it made a very loud noise in our room. Next time I will request not to stay in that room. Other then that it was a great overnight stay.

We were disappointed in several aspects of this hotel. We booked a Junior Suite so there was a “kitchen” area with a fridge, microwave and kitchen cabinet and sink. However there were no dishes or cutlery, no kettle or toaster. After requesting they handed us a couple of plates, cutlery but no cups. Also, no way to clean them until we asked twice. The room had only one chair and no table to eat at. The closet in the room was very small with only four hangers and no luggage rack. The shower did not have a grab bar and only one small towel rack. This hotel was also not very sound-proof so we could easily hear coughing and talking from other rooms. Although it was clean and had an acceptable breakfast provided, I would not stay at this hotel again

The desk staff was excellent. The woman in charge of the breakfast started putting things away at 9:00. As a result there was not much to choose from in the last 1/2 hour. She was very confrontational when a guest asked about the waffle maker. I too had planned on waffles but she was putting them away when I arrived. I managed to get yogurt and juice just as she was putting them away.

My belongings were stolen by staff and hidden. I was delayed to leave and when i mentioned i would report to police then suddenly they found my belongings.

The only ‘negative’ aspect was initially being given a room directly over the main foyer access doors. The every 5 seconds hum and vibration of the doors was very disturbing. However when I approached the reception desk rep she was happy to move us to another room which was a bit larger and more comfortable, as well as far from these distractions.

All was good until the next morning turned on the hairdryer and it literally blew up in my hand...burnt my thumb...i got to call the front desk the phone didnt work. The desk could call me but i couldn't call out or room to room. The worst is when reported,never heard from the manager or other. I went to the front desk and one young lady actually gave me some papers to fill out. Sad that i was not compensated in anyway and i had booked and paid fir two rooms...not a lot of customer relations at all. I will make sure all my fretc will hear of this...not even were sorry.

The staff isnalways excellent. The location gives easy access to everything.

Booked for a nonsmoking room, but put us in a smoking room. Also I requested the room away from the elevator, but put us in the room where is the nearest room to the elevator! It is terrible service! And the staff is careless of your request at all!

I was not expecting no housekeeping

The hotel itself is nice…..the rooms are not very sound proof though. We were kept awake most of the night due to a party next door which went on from 2:30am to 5:30am. We called front desk twice and I filed a complaint with the hotel before leaving and outlined our experience with the Manager through an e-mail request from her for further details a week ago yesterday. I have not heard back from the hotel. That’s why I had not responded to the survey yet.

The location is about 10-15 minutes from Laurentian University which was the reason for our visit. The free breakfast was convenient to have provided. The location of the hotel is surrounded by nearby options for dining and shopping.

Hotel is clean, modern and well kept. Coffee downstairs for breakfast is one of the worst I’ve experienced. Simple drip coffee is all that is necessary.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Dry eggs, dry sausage, watery coffee. Staff were friendly. Accessible room shampoo and conditioner that is mounted not accessible at all for anyone in a wheelchair.

This is a new hotel, however only one elevator was working. Unacceptable for the size and amount of guests that were there. The free breakfast is terrible. Poor selection. Not enough staff. Not enough seating for guests. And not large enough space. The shower heads in the shower are also terrible. It’s unfortunate because we booked this hotel because it was new. Won’t be staying there again.

This was a great budget-friendly family stay over the holidays. We had everything we needed and more and the family really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast bar was well stocked with a good variety of options to please everyone.
