Overall, this a great stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and very accommodating to any concerns or issues. I rated lower on cleanliness due to my most recent stay: the shower drain had not been cleaned in what looks like some time; the water was almost overflowing onto the floor after just a few moments; when I lifted the metal panel there was a LOT of hair, scum and a couple pieces of garbage. Lower on the facilities: construction going on for some time, the door adjacent the parking lot seemed to get stuck when trying to get in while it was cold, another side exit door barely opens with enough room to squeeze out as it gets stuck on the sidewalk, snow removal was very slow and at times blocked off access to the parking lot around the hotel. The room was tidy, but the bed wasn't made correctly and the mattress protector and sheet kept coming off. Kitchen/restaurant in the hotel is amazing, along with the food, but access is limited to certain days/hours - they do have a snack area that will do in a pinch, but there's not much selection outside sandwiches and junk food. All that said, this is the only place I stay when visiting the area!

Staff was friendly , breakfast was good. Room was very clean and comfortable. Pool is down for maintenance. Staff made a couple comments about how lots of past guests damage rooms. Not sure why it was brought up to me more than once. Overall was good. Would try it again when the pool is open.

We were in room 109 - was a nice room- unfortunately had a view to the back parking lot. Bed very comfortable, bathroom very clean- walk-in shower- unfortunately had no body lotion or special Amenities. Staff very friendly. Check-in was great. Lots of free parking. Full breakfast was good. Casino was separate but a 2 minute walk. This was our second time back and will definitely stay here again.

I stayed with my children, unfortunately the pool was under renovations, no child friendly place to eat, no microwave in our room, what looked like puke on the bottom of the bed frame, and if you want to have a bath and a shower at the same time? No problem because the tub backs up!

Bathroom was dirty along with towels. Toilet had pubic hair on the seat, stains in the bowl, glass was marked up and a used bar of soap in the shower. Towel was used and put back on the rack.

This hotel has such potential, however it is so dirty and run down. The toilet in the room was gross, the shower floor was black with dirt, broken furniture, no closet doors worked. The floor in the entrance,kitchen and bathroom were so dirty you had to wear shoes, they stuck to the floor with every step. Cleaned shoes before leaving in bathroom sink and the water coming off them was black.The elevators were filthy, the halls and floors were filthy. Not once did we see any person cleaning. The hot tub was so dirty, absolute turn off. I do not recommend staying here.

Our room was a basic king. The room and bedding were clean, but the shower head was coming off the wall and there was pink mildew all around the base of the shower stall. We found it curious that there was an Ice bucket but no cups. The hotel restaurant Is across the lane way in the casino, but our meals were really good and extremely generously portioned. The breakfast offered up in the lounge area of hotel was excellent! Choices were limited in some cases (only white bread at the toaster), but the hot dishes were really well made.

Well don’t know where to start, breakfast was advertised as starting at 5 am, first day the cook was late. Six days later they decided to move breakfast to 6 am and was told they would pack a breakfast for us, we needed to leave at six to make it to work. Well breakfast was ready once and I had to request it the two other days. When we checked into the hotel I noticed the toilet was loose off the floor flange, I asked for it to be repaired and seven days later we changed rooms, the maintenance isn’t going to help them keep this place running smoothly. I’m a pipefitter by trade and fixing a loose toilet would take maximum 3-4 hours not seven days. The manager gives nothing but excuses and uses the word of the front desk staff against you. I have sent numerous emails and never got anywhere with them just excuses. We moved to the Ramada in cold lake and the service was the polar opposite of this place. Customer service and the hospitality is lacking and will never be addressed if they don’t look within and fix the problem. Will never stay here ever again.

The damage deposit was a little to high at this hotel. It took 5 days to get credit back on my card. Otherwise everything was good. I would not consider staying there again, too bad that was always my first choice. The damaged deposit killed it for me.

Ok stay but won’t be back. We were in town for an event in the Northern part of cold Lake. I booked this hotel specifically because they are both pet friendly & have a pool. Most hotels in Cold Lake only offer one & we were travelling with our dog. This hotel is located South of Cold Lake, so it added more time & gas to our drive, it was also substantially more expensive than my other options. Fair enough, I wanted a pool & a pet friendly hotel. I’ll pay to have both. We checked in late after a long drive from Calgary and unpacked. Only to find out the pool was indefinitely closed to do a maintenance issue. I completely understand it’s not the hotels fault. It’s out of their control. When I told the front desk staff, she was kind of abrasive and said she couldn’t do anything and I’d have to speak to a manager. The next morning I spoke to a manager, a woman who gave me a big story about what happened with the pool but didn’t seem willing to compensate me for the extra amenities I had paid for but they weren’t able to deliver on. Another manager overheard and quickly came over right away to give me a discount. I was very impressed with his kindness, understanding and excellent customer service skills. He was wonderful and was able to give me a small discount. I’m appreciative for that, but I won’t pay that much to stay there again.

Ok stay but won’t be back. We were in town for an event in the Northern part of cold Lake. I booked this hotel specifically because they are both pet friendly & have a pool. Most hotels in Cold Lake only offer one & we were travelling with our dog. This hotel is located South of Cold Lake, so it added more time & gas to our drive, it was also substantially more expensive than my other options. Fair enough, I wanted a pool & a pet friendly hotel. I’ll pay to have both. We checked in late after a long drive from Calgary and unpacked. Only to find out the pool was indefinitely closed to do a maintenance issue. I completely understand it’s not the hotels fault. It’s out of their control. Such a beautiful hotel! The rooms are designed so gorgeously and the artwork everywhere is awesome. Staff is super helpful. Breakfast is amazing and open until 11am which is unheard of. Pool and hot tub areas were a little messy and without towels but staff were right there to help. Location is quiet and beautiful with only a short drive to Cold Lake. Casino is a short walk beside the hotel so it didn't affect the hotel traffic.

This hotel was very nice, great staff, and includes breakfast. They also have a pool and gym which is an added benefit. All for a decent price. A bit of an inconvenient location for some people but it worked well for me while I was in the area for work. The restaurant at the casino had good food.

Wish our room had windows that opened or a small balcony. Perhaps other rooms did. We werent in the hotel much aside from sleeping and later evenings (hence wanting a balcony). Otherwise, clean, located near a casino if that is your thing, but not walkable to local city. Need to drive to Cold Lake

Overall, this a great stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and very accommodating to any concerns or issues. I rated lower on cleanliness due to my most recent stay: the shower drain had not been cleaned in what looks like some time; the water was almost overflowing onto the floor after just a few moments; when I lifted the metal panel there was a LOT of hair, scum and a couple pieces of garbage. Lower on the facilities: construction going on for some time, the door adjacent the parking lot seemed to get stuck when trying to get in while it was cold, another side exit door barely opens with enough room to squeeze out as it gets stuck on the sidewalk, snow removal was very slow and at times blocked off access to the parking lot around the hotel. The room was tidy, but the bed wasn't made correctly and the mattress protector and sheet kept coming off. Kitchen/restaurant in the hotel is amazing, along with the food, but access is limited to certain days/hours - they do have a snack area that will do in a pinch, but there's not much selection outside sandwiches and junk food. All that said, this is the only place I stay when visiting the area!

Very nice stay. Awesome room, great bed, very clean. Two things...the shower open concept allowed some water on the floor while showering...and no Sportsnet or TSN...small things in an otherwise great stay. And breakfast was awesome with eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, pancakes and more! Will definitely stay here again!

We were in room 109 - was a nice room- unfortunately had a view to the back parking lot. Bed very comfortable, bathroom very clean- walk-in shower- unfortunately had no body lotion or special Amenities. Staff very friendly. Check-in was great. Lots of free parking. Full breakfast was good. Casino was separate but a 2 minute walk. This was our second time back and will definitely stay here again.

Our room was a basic king. The room and bedding were clean, but the shower head was coming off the wall and there was pink mildew all around the base of the shower stall. We found it curious that there was an Ice bucket but no cups. The hotel restaurant Is across the lane way in the casino, but our meals were really good and extremely generously portioned. The breakfast offered up in the lounge area of hotel was excellent! Choices were limited in some cases (only white bread at the toaster), but the hot dishes were really well made.

Things we loved about the Hotel Dene: the staff were lovely; the room was clean, comfortable and well-designed; the included breakfast was very good and served till 10 on weekends; and the walk-in rain shower was terrific. The location was very convenient for us and it was nice to be outside of town. Things we didn't love: the pool that appears in the hotel description is under construction and, according to other commentors, has been for some time. In other words, don't count on the pool or gym unless you call first to confirm that they're open. The restaurant in the hotel is only open for breakfast (closing at 9 am weekdays) and the restaurant in the casino is IN the casino and therefore can't serve families. Also, we didn't find out until we'd checked in that only queen rooms have baths; king rooms have walk-in showers only. We would definitely stay here again, especially if the pool and gym open. Views around are incredible! Beds are like laying on a cloud VERY restful sleep. Breakfast...French Toast and BACON...that sets your day off right!! Front desk staff VERY friendly and helpful. Shower soaps GREAT and the shower head YUP! The coffee in the breakfast area was very good and a First Nations company...awesome taste! Pool area STILL under construction so not hot tub...boooo lol
