I stayed at The Station Hotel due to its proximity to Carnoustie Golf Club. It was a comfortable and reasonably-priced choice, with a bar and restaurant on site. A short stroll revealed some other dining options, including a very friendly Thai restaurant I selected. Parking in a dedicated lot was also a plus. No complaints at all.

The staff were fantastic. A wee tip if you want dinner there, book it when you book your accommodation. The station hotel dinner is really popular with locals too.

Stayed at The Station Hotel for 2 night's July, easy check in even after hours, room was big and clean albeit basic but had everything you would need, staff were very attentive and friendly, breakfast was amazing, dinner even better and very reasonable price wise, lovely bar and well stocked. Overall a very good stay would highly recommend a visit we will be back for sure.

Lovely comfortable single room beside station. Trains a bit noisy but you know it’s location when you book. Car park free and breakfast was hot and tasty. Great value for money.

I like Station hotels I’ve stayed in 5 but Carnoustie is the best , unfortunately on this occasion I took ill and they went over and above to assist me on a medical emergency, luckily everything was fine ,,, but regarding the hotel the food was first class the rooms are spotless , will be back in the near future

The staff was wonderful. The rooms are horrible. They all need remodeled and upkeep. There’s mold in my bathroom and the tub doesn’t drain, the shower curtain needs to be bleached. I would not want to stay here ever again. Breakfast looked charming. But I only ate the toast.

Station hotel well worth the money , room was ok dated but clean , Breakfast was excellent on both days , We had dinner in the hotel - excellent the steak pie was magic best I have tasted , Carnoustie is a magical quant place with a smashing wee Bakers all home made food , We just love staying in Carnoustie , well worth a visit .

Stopped here for a single night on a business trip. The reception was good and check in was quick and easy. The room was reasonably sized but was very dated. The bathroom needs some work, haven’t had to use a shower curtain in a shower for a long while. The place was clean and tidy but room was very warm and no fan supplied. When I attempted to open the windows to get some air into the room, there was additional glazing on the outside of the building which prevented any air flow. Personally I would not stay in the hotel again only because I prefer a cool room.

Lovely hotel. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Only downside is it is right beside the train tracks and we were in room 3 facing the train tracks and is also above the pub. Train goes through until midnight.

Staff Very helpful and friendly. Location superb. Slightly disappointed with Room. No dressing table for wife to sit at etc. Kettle had to be placed on floor to get connection for Electricity. Open wardrobe flat pack and had seen better days. Stain mark on carpet in room. No character in room. Having stayed at Carnoustie on 2 previous occasions in Carnoustie Golf Hotel and paid less than Station Hotel I was disappointed in value for money for room however I am aware that location is superb Also had dinner in Hotel but felt prices a bit on High side and the Famous Steak pie was OK but it did not live up to my expectations having read previous reviews. I do accept everyone has their own opinion.

Call out to the waiting staff, all very good. Special mention must go to the barman in the public bar, he was brilliant, on the ball all the time, despite being extremely busy . The breakfast waitress was also excellent. No complaints.

It’s just right next to the station and the Carnoustie beach . Lovely staff , they allowed me to check in early and drop off my bag . There’s a Coop about 2 minutes walk . Lovely cafes . I would recommend to have lunch at The Rockery ( located Golf course ) . Enjoyed my stay at this hotel

Loved the room and the extremely friendly and helpful staff. Had dinner in the bar and breakfast and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend having a bar meal here. Especially thd steak pie. Mmmm

Fab location in Carnoustie next to esplanade. Very welcoming staff, incl reception, breakfast serving and room maintenance team. Very traditional Scottish hospitality and food. Lovely Arbroath smokie and poached eggs for breakfast…fresh strawberries and raspberries.

Fab location in Carnoustie next to esplanade. Very welcoming staff, incl reception, breakfast serving and room maintenance team. Very traditional Scottish hospitality and food. Lovely Arbroath smokie and poached eggs for breakfast…fresh strawberries and raspberries.

Station hotel well worth the money , room was ok dated but clean , Breakfast was excellent on both days , We had dinner in the hotel - excellent the steak pie was magic best I have tasted , Carnoustie is a magical quant place with a smashing wee Bakers all home made food , We just love staying in Carnoustie , well worth a visit .

Fantastic stay. Really interesting building, nice clean room, plenty of hot water for showers. Really great staff as well, highlight was evening meal in the restaurant, pushed the boat out and had 3 courses, epic, all lovely, we were stuffed. Breakfast the next day was also really good. Will definitely be back, and yes, I would bring my wife here on a holiday as well as come back for a work trip. Hopefully be back soon

We had a great few days staying at the Station Hotel. Hotel is in a great location. Rooms were nicely decorated and bed was very comfy. Breakfast was excellent. Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be back

I had a two night stay in a double room which was really large and full of light from the bay window. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and there were plenty of plug points at easily accessable places. The bathroom was equally spacious with a good shower and lots of surface areas to place toilet bags and their contents. I only had breakfast during my stay but there was a good choice and all brought by extremely efficient and friendly staff which makes such a difference. Y Yes the hotel is very near the railway line and there are frequent trains but despite being a light sleeper, I managed to sleep not too badly at all. If you're worried bring ear plugs and you'll be fine. If I'm ever in that part of the country again I'd definitely consider going back again.

The hotel rooms were dated but spotless. The food (we ended up eating both nights in the hotel) was delicious as was our breakfast both mornings. Especially loved the selection of fresh fruit . The staff were all exceptional & very friendly. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel & will definitely be back.
