The rooms annex is beautiful, modern. The check in area and restaurant are clearly the original property. The setting is lovely, with a Mountain View. Our room was facing the parking area and some old equipment so not much to look at. There were 2 adorable sheep hanging around that were very friendly and excitable. We enjoyed the included breakfast buffet, which also had 3 to-order options. Excellent location if driving Ring Road or visiting Hofn.

I really enjoyed this place, the room was a good size, the staff was really nice, and the complementary breakfast offered was quite tasty. There is also a restaurant on site and coffee offering in the main part of the hotel.

Convenient access to Rt1. Liked the restaurant is open until 21:30. Very helpful when hungry after a long day of sightseeing and driving long distances in a sparcely settled.area of Iceland

Nice, modern, clean hotel. Supereasy check-in and check-out. Great views! Just 2 small issues: Breakfast is listed on the web from 7:30 but is served from 7:00. And the proper hotel breakfast must contain scrambled eggs!

The room was simple and clean with everything we needed. The towels are small but absorbent and the water pressure was great. Parking was a plentiful and mostly affected by the rain/mud. The room was very warm with no thermostat, we could have opened the room but didn’t want to deal with the rain. We paid extra for the breakfast which was tasty. Easy check-in and check-out process! It looked a little ominous at night with the rain but felt safe just the same.

The room is really nice, super clean, the view from the window is amazing. They have a small restaurant to dine and it is really good. Breakfast was good too. Definitely would recommend this place. The staff was really polite and helpful.

I spent 4 nights and did a lot of sightseeing. It’s very convenient to Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, Höfn Harbor, Ring Road, etc. It was overcast during my stay but I did manage to see some Aurora action. Very faint but that wasn’t a minus. Weather happens! I spent a day at Ósland, which is a manmade land bridge along Höfn Harbor. What a great place for bird watching! The room was spacious and included a desk and a full shower. There was a hair dryer in the room. The Breakfast was outstanding. They also have an on-site Restaurant, which served excellent area cuisine. I had dinner there twice: the Meat Soup and the Lobster Sandwich. Excellent! The Staff was very personable and very friendly. I felt very spoiled staying at Lilja. Great place!

Hôtel sympa calme avec une belle vue sur la montagne. Restaurant sur place très bon pour ce qui est du poisson. Dommage qu'à 21h au moment de choisir le dessert il nous dise que la cuisine est fermé, il aurait du nous dire en amont voulez vous un dessert la cuisine va fermer. Bref on a trouver une solution mais prévoyez de commander avant 21h. Parking pratique. Gel hydroalcoolique, café et thé à disposition dans le hall c'est sympa. Petit déjeuner très bon et varié

We were accommodated in the old but not the new part of the guesthouse. Not a problem as such but worth mentioning since our room did not correspond with the pictures. The room itself was decent but rudimentary. Some pieces of furniture were in a fairly used state. There were scratches and stains on the walls. The bathroom was cleaned to an acceptable degree but probably not to the extent which we would expect. Other than that, the guesthouse is good for its purpose and location. We stayed one night and left in the morning. Overall, for a one night stay we considered this guesthouse okay.

Easy and pleasant checkin at Lilja Guesthouse. The room was sparsely furnished in the Scandinavian way, but was very clean with fresh linens and comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent and all staff were helpful and spoke English!

I was very frustrated with the leaking floor in the bathroom that had water squirting up from the seams between the floor tiles. Also, a huge irritant was the motion sensor light in the bathroom. It went on and off at will - not turning on when entering the room frequently and then turning off while in the room. This was a real issue when using the toilet or taking a shower. It turned on when no one was in the room.

Our room was great, we stayed in room 25 which is all the rooms they have on-site. There unfortunately was a trailer outside our window which blocked a view of the countryside and wasn't great. The room was perfect inside and has a smart TV.

Be careful when booking this. They have 2 buildings but show images of both properties when booking, so you think you are booking in the newer building. One building is extremely poor quality and old. Room smell was incredibly bad. Staff is unprofessional. I would recommend you stay away from this property. I would compare to a $30 motel.

Ficamos na parte antiga do Hotel, que não tem a mesma comodidade da parte nova. O quarto deixou um pouco a desejar. O atendimento e café da manhã foram bons. A minha sugestão seria para deixar claro na reserva que existem duas partes do Hotel, com experiências totalmente diferentes, uma antiga com menos conforto, e uma nova com quartos bem confortáveis e com comodidade.

Ficamos na parte antiga do Hotel, que não tem a mesma comodidade da parte nova. O quarto deixou um pouco a desejar. O atendimento e café da manhã foram bons. A minha sugestão seria para deixar claro na reserva que existem duas partes do Hotel, com experiências totalmente diferentes, uma antiga com menos conforto, e uma nova com quartos bem confortáveis e com comodidade.

Pros: easy access from #1, clean rooms, lots of electrical outlets in the room, comfortable bed, includes breakfast. Cons: noisy with thin walls, can hear people dragging furniture, no light switch to bathroom and sensor kept triggering it in and off thru the night, broken door jamb where you had to lock it with difficulty to at least ensure it’s closed, large bay window in bedroom offers zero privacy, curtains do not span the entire window, leaving gaps, if you’re unlucky enough to face the parking lot, you’ll have bright lights on all night, internet is slow and spotty, kicks you out frequently. We didnt find the restaurant food to be good at all - had lamb soup (pieces too big and chewy or gristle-y), lagostine soup (fine) and chicken Caesar salad (disgusting- weirdly spiced chicken, brown lettuce, bottled sauce, boxed croutons). Breakfast was continental with a few pastries, meats, cheeses, breads (just ok). Very pricey, even for this country, for what you get. Tip: get a room in the 2nd building and face the road! Don’t spend more than 1 night.

Property was alright nice rooms and bathroom. Breakfast was good. Rooms are not sound proof it was very noisy from others trying to leave in the morning. Would recommend maybe just bring ear plugs

Tolle sehr reduzierte Architektur und Einichtung des Neubaus. Spektakulär ist der Blick aus den großen Fenstern auf dem Gletscher. Achtung unbedingt bei der Buchung die Zimmer mit dem Gletscherblick wählen! Es lohnt sich!

La mattina del check in ricevo una chiamata dall’hotel che mi comunica che hanno avuto un problema tecnico al bagno e non possono più ospitarci. Avevano già provveduto a prenotarci un nuovo hotel, splendido, nuovo e con colazione inclusa! Non posso quindi giudicare la struttura, ma il servizio direi eccellente!

We hired a rental car and the windscreen got cracked severely and we were told it was unsafe to travel. I contacted the hotel twice to tell them what had happened and i received no response at all from them. I understand the booking was non refundable but to not even reply and help re-organise an already very stressful situation is totally lacking in customer service

The room was lovely but let down by the reception/ breakfast area. Very dull and un inviting . Staff were very unhelpful , my partner wasn’t well & they didn’t offer any support. On arrival they weren’t very friendly . No yogurt available at breakfast . If the room hadn’t been nice we wouldn’t have stayed .

Had an excellent stay here! First thing I want to highlight is that I made the mistake of making two separate bookings instead of one booking for two nights. I was so worried because it left a 4 hour gap between check in/out times and was a huge concern because due to weather our snowmobiling was cancelled and we had nowhere else to go. However the staff was so kind, specifically Michael at the front desk, and were so helpful and I wish I could give more than five stars. Aside from my booking mistake, the food was incredible from the free breakfast to the on site restaurant (highly recommend the chocolate cake), the room was clean and cozy, the property was a great location/easy to find, free parking right in front, and would highly recommend to any tourist passing through!

Had an excellent stay here! First thing I want to highlight is that I made the mistake of making two separate bookings instead of one booking for two nights. I was so worried because it left a 4 hour gap between check in/out times and was a huge concern because due to weather our snowmobiling was cancelled and we had nowhere else to go. However the staff was so kind, specifically Michael at the front desk, and were so helpful and I wish I could give more than five stars. The rooms annex is beautiful, modern. The check in area and restaurant are clearly the original property. The setting is lovely, with a Mountain View. Our room was facing the parking area and some old equipment so not much to look at. There were 2 adorable sheep hanging around that were very friendly and excitable. We enjoyed the included breakfast buffet, which also had 3 to-order options. Excellent location if driving Ring Road or visiting Hofn.

This place is a hidden treasure! We booked because we were looking for an affordable place not far from the glacier lagoon. Price was great, and we had a truly breathtaking view of a glacier from our room and lots of cute sheep in the fields nearby. One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Iceland. Buffet style breakfast was included (with more stunning views from the restaurant area). They have a restaurant and bar on site but we went into Höfn for dinner, about 20 minutes away by car, and hotel staff provided us with excellent recommendations.

I spent 4 nights and did a lot of sightseeing. It’s very convenient to Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach, Höfn Harbor, Ring Road, etc. It was overcast during my stay but I did manage to see some Aurora action. Very faint but that wasn’t a minus. Weather happens! I spent a day at Ósland, which is a manmade land bridge along Höfn Harbor. What a great place for bird watching! The room was spacious and included a desk and a full shower. There was a hair dryer in the room. The Breakfast was outstanding. They also have an on-site Restaurant, which served excellent area cuisine. I had dinner there twice: the Meat Soup and the Lobster Sandwich. Excellent! The Staff was very personable and very friendly. I felt very spoiled staying at Lilja. Great place!

Pros: easy access from #1, clean rooms, lots of electrical outlets in the room, comfortable bed, includes breakfast. Cons: noisy with thin walls, can hear people dragging furniture, no light switch to bathroom and sensor kept triggering it in and off thru the night, broken door jamb where you had to lock it with difficulty to at least ensure it’s closed, large bay window in bedroom offers zero privacy, curtains do not span the entire window, leaving gaps, if you’re unlucky enough to face the parking lot, you’ll have bright lights on all night, internet is slow and spotty, kicks you out frequently. We didnt find the restaurant food to be good at all - had lamb soup (pieces too big and chewy or gristle-y), lagostine soup (fine) and chicken Caesar salad (disgusting- weirdly spiced chicken, brown lettuce, bottled sauce, boxed croutons). Breakfast was continental with a few pastries, meats, cheeses, breads (just ok). Very pricey, even for this country, for what you get. Tip: get a room in the 2nd building and face the road! Don’t spend more than 1 night.

Lilja guesthouse is located off of ring road on southern Iceland closer to Hofn. Nice little guesthouse with multiple rooms and nice dining options. After long day of travelling my wife and I decided to have a dinner in their restaurant. We had pumpkin soup, my wife had veggie burger and I had a regular burger. It was delicious. Staff is courteous and very helpful. Highly recommend this place for anyone who is driving around ring road in Iceland.

The room was really comfortable and they were really accommodating. We had to leave really early in the morning and they were really nice about it and accommodating to our needs. They offered to make us breakfast to go, which was amazing. The food at their restaurant was really good and tasty. We really loved it here, and wish we could have stayed longer.

Dåligt tryck i duscharna och väldigt lyhört. Det är bara en utav byggnaderna som syns på fotona. Den andra som våra rum låg i fanns inte med på bilderna. Men läget var vackert, och rummen var ok. Likaså frukosten ok. Väldigt omysig bar/reception/restaurang särskilt på kvällen då det va belyst med lysröraktigt ljus.

This location was convenient for where we needed to be. Was the only hotel during our 10-day stay we were able to see even a glimpse of Aurora thanks to the dark skies around lilja. Delicious breakfast! Fair prices for dinner although we did not eat here as we were traveling throughout the day. Very comfortable room. Great views of the sky. Loved that there was a common area with coffee and tea as well. Would highly recommend.

I have never paid so much for so little. First, the photos are not as expected. They have an old building that they don’t tell you about (YOU ONLY FIND OUT UPON CHECK-in) and if you get the STANDARD room that’s where they put you. 1. The photos are deceiving. THERE ARE NO TVs. False advertising. 2. When I asked why. The front desk girl said the building doesn’t support it. What are we in the 1800s? So at some point it did support it since they have pictures with it. 3. They should add a photo with no TV and be transparent with the customer 4. They should tell the customer that they are staying IN THE RED BUILDING IF YOU SELECT THE STANDARD BUDGET ROOM. 5. In room 9 by the bed the WiFi did not work. You had to be by the door to stay connected…BUT IF YOU SAT ON THE BED IT LOST CONNECTION. 6. The room had one hand towel. So one hand towel for two individuals. 7. The room has no heater. 8. The room walls are paper thin. I could hear my neighbors. Hardly, could get sleep. 9. When I told the front desk girl just to notify her that the WiFi wasn’t working. Her response was … I have haven’t received that complaint before. I would NEVER stay here again. These people don’t care about their customers. They DECEIVE their customers and are NOT transparent and then they want to charge like if this is an upscale boutique hotel. This hotel is taking ADVANTAGE OF TOURIST WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
