La Quinta by Wyndham Durango

The property was great. The pool was nice minus the very strong chlorine smell.

Reasonable rates and always clean and quiet. Comfortable beds. And the pool and hot tub are awesome. I greatly appreciate the continental breakfast and that the movie theater and mall are both nearby. This is my families favorite place to stay in Durango :)

We went to swim because they had an indoor pool but it was green and dirty looking

The pool and hot tub were DISGUSTING!! The water was brown and the hot tub had so many bubbles and reeked of chlorine. The corners of the tub had mold. The corners of the carpet had not seen a vacuum in MONTHS!

Honestly the main reason we chose this hotel for our stay in Durango was the pool and the jacuzzi. Cool weather in Colorado and long days we were absolutely excited and waiting for a nice soak and I warm jacuzzi. No heated jacuzzi. The bubbles work but no heat. The pool was not heated for sure. But was not too cold to swim. I will say that the breakfast was good with scrambled eggs potatoes biscuits and gravy

I only choose the property because it had a pool and hot tub. Upon arrival found out they were out of order. $500 and no pool.

The pool and hot tub closed, main reason for coming. Office chair was broken and would not lift up so dinner was eaten with a table up to my chin. The head boards had dust so thick when i ran a finger across there were dust bunnies. Tub and the sink drained super slow, so my shower turned into a bath.. Breakfast was good.though.

Dirty pool, elevator not working properly, card readers on exterior doors not working and poor customer service at check- in desk. I would not recommend

I would like a discount on this reservation. My comforter on my bed had not been washed because it smelled like BO (body odor). That is unacceptable when paying $305 for one night

I woke up to a bed full of bedbugs, the small red ones where everywhere. Caught three of the big ones in a plastic cup and showed the person working the front desk. I had to put all my belongings in a trash bag to make sure they wouldn't get in my car but I threw away everything including my shoes and drove five hours home barefoot.

Cleanliness is the only complaint our group had. We reserved 2 rooms. The public areas were clean and well maintained, however, both of the rooms had stains on the bedding and mattresses, and unmentionables left in the shower. The bathroom floor wasn’t clean and the carpet wasn’t vacuumed. The breakfast was great and the staff was excellent. We wouldn’t stay here again but only because of the cleanliness of the room.

Stayed 3 nights. Housekeeping failed to clean room after the 1st and 2nd night.

When we arrived the staff was very kind, The room was ok, but the bathroom was nasty had to call and get cleaning service sent to our room. The toilet, tub and mirror had not been clean. They got cleaning service up there quickly. After that we opened the closet & there was some Boys swim trunks in there.

I requested a room with a tub and did not get one. Also the bathroom boor was missing paint half way up the door, very unkept. Shower was old as well. The air conditioner seemed to struggle, we got hot in the middle of the night. The second day, we went down to breakfast at 8:30 am and everything was out, eggs, potatoes, meat, biscuits and milk. We had to wait.

HVAC seemed difficult to maintain temperature overnight.

Location was great, hotel was clean beds comfy. I was on first floor and the carpet in my room was in bad shape; made the room feel less clean than it really was

My stay is always consistently good at La Quinta's. The room was large and modern, and even though my room faced the front parking lot - it couldn't have been any quieter.

As soon as we arrived I got ignored for couple of minutes on front desk. We stayed with my 2 year old son and he watched cartoons and laughed and right before 10pm we received call from front desk that multiple rooms complained about loud noise. Ok so i turned tv off and we went to sleep. Our room had gap on front door like 2 inches so it’s not surprising that we hear everything. I attached photo with gap so people can judge if is worth staying. We definitely won’t stay there again.

The hotel was okay, but lighting very poor in the room and bathroom. The towels were very thin. The staff was very friendly and attended to our needs.

Comfortable and clean. Easy access to groceries and about 15 minutes to the airport.

When we got to the hotel, the lady checked us into the wrong room, under the wrong reservation, wrong person. Put our card on someome elses account for deposit. When I had told her that I didnt pay for my room yet, she told me it was paid in full. I tried explaining again that I never paid for my room, she told me I had. She handed me a paper to sign for our vehicle info, it had someone elses name. I told her and she finally realized she had put us into the wrong room under someone else. That was all supposed to have been taken care of. We got to our right room, swam, and went to bed. Then our phone rings at 10:30pm after we all went to bed. It was the lady that checked us in. She said I needed to come down to the front desk to pay because the card she put on the ither persons account didnt transfer to our reservation. I asled if i could do it in the morning as I was already undressed and had been sleeping. She told me no, I needed to come down right then or I would be "charged a bunch of crazy fees" because it shows I never checked into our room. I got a message for pre check-in earlier in the day and put my card info on that instead and asked her if she can refresh so I didnt have to come. She said "yeah if it doesnt work ill call you back" as id she didnt hear me when i said wveryone including children was sleeping in our room. So unprofessional and something that was avoidable had she listened to me to begin with when I said I never paid for my room.

The staff was excellent. We had a last minute room change, the staff helped us tremendously. We are very grateful for accommodating us.

They did not have our reservation and was not nice about it. I had to cancel the original one and rebook - then she was nice.

The hotel canceled my reservation before I arrived, with no communication about this. The explanation when I arrived at 3am, exhausted and surprised to find a line in the lobby, was that they perform an “audit” at 2am, and anyone not checked in by then gets their room canceled. I was working on an emergency situation in town and we weren’t done until nearly 3am. I had only made the reservation a few hours earlier, when it became clear I’d need to stay in town another night. The other folks in line at 3am were also both having issues of a similar nature, and the staff member seemed confused and was having multiple issues working with the computer. I had made my reservation through Expedia with “all fees included, no surprises” but they said I had to pay another $50 before I could get a room. They claimed computer issues and charged my card twice for this $50 refundable ‘incident’ fee I’d already paid through Expedia. When I was finally given a room key after a 30 minute wait, that’s all I was given. A room number and a quick point down the hall. The staff member didn’t even fill in the Internet password space on the key holder. After 5 hours of sleep, I was awoken by somebody trying to come into my room and saying something unintelligible. I said “hello?” and they closed the door. I realized it was likely housekeeping, but I hadn’t been given anything to hang on the door and did not expect them as it was a one-night stay!! I was woken again by them 30 minutes later.

The check-in process was outrageously slow. I know you had a lot of people checking in for homecoming week. We waited for over an hour. Really annoying after a long drive. You need a pre-check option or something else besides 1 person at the front.

We mainly stayed at this hotel because we were traveling with our two dogs and the pet fees seemed reasonable. However, the pet fees were twice as much as we were planning on. Weeks before our trip I wanted to confirm the pet fee prices and tried calling their phone number about 5 times with no answer or way to leave a voicemail. I also tried messaging them through here, but no response. When we went to check in, the pet fees ended up being a lot more than originally stated. They need to update their pet policy on here and their website so there aren't any surprises. I'm also not sure where these expensive pet fees are going towards, the designated pet area was just dirt, weeds, and an overflowing garbage with trash everywhere. I also asked about why they never answered my calls and the person at the desk said their phones have been down for months...I feel like being able to get in touch with your hotel is important and didn't love that there was no way to get in touch with them.

The young lady that checked me in was top notch. She answered all my questions and all made sure all the breakfast stuff was ready. Just a great attitude all around! Cory

We had an amazing time in Durango and loved the location of this hotel. Short walk to the Animas river walk and plenty to do around the area or a short drive. Hotel staff were all kind and helpful.

Driving in/out is not intuitive…bad traffic design

Location is good; just few minutes drive to downtown and Durango Silverton train station. Property is in good condition and rooms are well appointed and quiet. Standard continental breakfast. Front office staff is courteous and helpful.

There is an excellent river walk very close by and a Texas Barbecue restaurant nearby that is very good and reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable.

Inn facility was excellent and room was very nice. A couple of very minor comments... 1. Was located on the edge of town so more distant from downtown than desired but I was the one that chose the hotel so no fault of their's.. 2. Breakfast closed at 9AM and they mean it. Food is gone at 9:01am.

Hotel is a little funky to get to and a little bit out of town. Not within walking distance of much. Very clean and very nice staff. The bed was rather comfy but I thought the pillows were hard and lumpy. Breakfast left a little to be desired.

Our hotel stay was fair. The biggest let down was the breakfast - it was terrible.

Breakfast was poor. No milk, no meat, no yogurt etc. No soap in the rooms. Doors and hallways were dingy. Paid over $250 dollars for the room. Everyone should have received at least a partial refund.

This hotel was VERY understaffed. There was only one person on duty each. morning, responsible for guest concerns and putting out the breakfast. Each day of our four day stay there was an inadequate amount of food for breakfast. When asked, the attendant said that someone forgot to order eggs... the staff was either not empowered or did not show any initiative to make the decision to run to a local store to purchase eggs, leaving the guests without enough to eat. There was mud and dirt all over the back stairs. We were told they didn\'t "do" housekeeping on a daily basis, but when we asked the attendant to have someone remove trash (which we left outside the room), the trash sat in the hallway for two days. The location of this hotel is uniquely situated in a very difficult to access, weirdly designed set of roads, and was a true nuisance to get in and out of.

Breakfast choices were very limited and hot food was cold. Staff service and responsiveness was poor. Outdoor area was not well maintained and the grassy areas were dead.

Beds are very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was horrible. Booked this hotel specifically for this option. When I went downstairs it looked like a war zone. Spills and trash all over the breakfast area. Juice machine was not working, no milk for cereal, coffee was empty, no hot water for oatmeal, no batter for waffles. Eggs had a strange powder in the texture. Showers / tub combo is different depending on the room. Front desk receptionist was awesome. Very helpful and great customer service.

The hotel staff are amazing. Clean rooms and good breakfast. Will surely book this hotel again!
