The pool and hot tub were closed yet again. They have been closed every single time we stay here for business. Seems like a pretty new hotel and I think it’s a shame that they advertise these amenities but don’t actually maintain them.

This is a very nice new hotel. Great outdoor patio with gas fire pits and pretty country view. Included Breakfast area was large with many food choices. Price point was very good.

Eventhough the property is about 5 years old, I thought it was brand new. Very clean. The only negative was the pool was not in service. They were waiting on an inspection by the state.

The location was right off of the interstate so it was really easy to get to. The decor on the inside is trendy and well done. The pool and hot tub were not open while we were there but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. But if you want a pool you may want to call before you go to see if it is opened. The fitness gym is small but good quality machines. We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The only issue we had was the carpets were very stained all over the hotel. The bed, bathroom and everything else was immaculate so I am not quite sure why they haven't addressed the carpet situation. The shower was fantastic! Best we have ever had in a hotel. We will stay here again. But the carpets need to be cleaned or replaced.

The hotel and staff were both so impressive! The room was really clean and spacious. The balcony and fire pits were the cherry on top and made for a relaxing evening! We were disappointed to find out the hot tub and pool were out of order (maybe maintenance) and the bar has been removed from the hotel. Will def go back.

This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at. Even though it had been there 10 years, it looked new and fresh. Very clean and friendly staff. The rooms were spacious with extra seating. The shower was huge. The area around the hotel is nice as well as there is a patio with a seating area and a fire pit. Complimentary cookies, coffee, tea and milk for my son. We were very impressed by The Garland Hotel and would definitely stay there again.

The staff is always kind and friendly. What makes me so incredibly sad is that I have been coming here for years and watching it slowly degrade over time. The floors are beyond disgusting and all need replaced. I wouldn't let my children walk around in bare feet, my husband put his flip flops on, and I kept my shoes on as long as possible. The room we were in had a beautiful view and I kept saying that this place could be the most beautiful in Muskingum County, but it just needs really cleaned. The Garland bed sham had red (hopefully not blood) on it. The shower was moldy, dead bugs all over the floors, and broken curtains. I brought back lysol wipes to clean things and showered my kids at my parent's house. I just couldn't have my baby on those floors. Give each room some TLC and watch more people stay with more positive reviews! The staff was great, the lobby was beautifully decorated which means a lot when we're so far away from home on the holidays.

The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It’s so rare that I find a room that is that clean in any hotels so this was a treat. I love that the toilet was had a semi-privacy wall from the sink and shower. I forgot to take pictures of the bed, but there were ample pillows and a soft duvet. Breakfast offered hot and cold options, juice, coffee, and lemon water.

The garland is so convenient to stay at along route 70 in Ohio. The hotel is nice looking inside the lobby and our room was very large. The room could use a couch or loveseat to fill the space and make it more comfortable to lounge in the room. The bathroom was a great size but it would be nice to have more than one hook to hang clothes or towels on. My only real complaint about the property or our stay was that the carpeting in the main hallways and elevators are all very stained. The room carpeting was not stained just all the common areas. It appears that it could be housekeeping procedures that are causing all the staining but hopefully a good cleaning on all those hallways and a discussion with staff could improve their condition.

Super impressed with this location. exceptionally clean and great breakfast. Our room was huge and we had a balcony with a beautiful view we were not expecting. And it was a lot cheaper than Hilton.

Our room was very clean and Spacious. Love the wall in shower. The only problem I saw was the carpet in the elevator and the areas in the waiting area for the elevator need cleaned real bad.

The property is near a highway, and our room was on the highway side of the building. We heard a fair amount of trucks engine breaking throughout the night. I assume the noise would have been significantly less if we were on the opposite side of the building.

It was a great stay and we love this hotel but the shower situation is odd. The showers are so nice and new but the shower heads are so high and if you are 5'1 like me you can't even reach them (hand held). Some of the rooms it sprays so close to the wall so you need to be able to reach it. Horrible design but everything else in the room is great and new!

I've stayed at the Garland several times when visiting family in the area, its always been a great place. This time I was booked into a room that was really huge, it looked like a conference room table belonged in there. I finally decided that it was a handicap room even though there were no signs indicating such. The shower was the only negative. It only had a 1/2 glass door covering the entrance and within 1 minute of turning on the shower, water was running out onto the bathroom floor, then into the hallway onto the carpet. I had to roll up towels and try to block the water. I could tell this was a recurrent problem as the carpet was stained from previous water problems. Other than the shower, the room was comfortable, i really liked the little balcony, breakfast was standard fare and nice to have available. Convenient to the highway.

The style and staff were excellent but I didn’t sleep well at all. The bed was so uncomfortable, I felt springs. And it was super loud from outside traffic. So loud I had to use ear plugs and it still didn’t drown it out. In all, it was a lovely hotel and staff were very friendly and helpful. But I won’t stay there again because of the terrible bed. I’m not sure if it was just my bed or if they’re all like that but I doubt I’ll try again to find out.

The cost was the cheapest in the area for the weekend I booked, which was my incentive for booking. The check in was not the best though. We arrived around 4:30 and we walked in to no one at the counter and no bell or anything to ring. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but it almost turned into 15 minutes of standing there waiting before any worker came back, which was frustrating. Calling the front desk did not even get anyone’s attention. Then the next day, I returned to my room in the evening and neither card would get me in. I had to get them rescanned at the desk by a different employee who informed me the other worker failed to check we booked more then one day, and apparently that had happened more then once already with other guests. No other further issues besides that, however. The room was nice, large and had perfectly comfortable beds. There were many stains on almost all the carpets in the room and the hallway, though which was unpleasant.

The hotel is clean, modern and nicely appointed. The room was large and comfortable. The staff was polite and accommodating. BUT there was NO hot water. Apparently, the water heater failed prior to our arrival – although the staff knew this, no one told us when we checked in. We had to find out by taking a COLD SHOWER in the morning. When we checked out, I asked about some compensation for the lack of hot water and not being advised of it. The clerk was polite and wrote a note to her manager that was not on site. After having no further contact from the organization, I would have to rate the hotel as quite nice but their ethics seem questionable.

woman at front desk is terrible not friendly makes you feel like you are bothering her at check in because she is constantly browsing her computer or phone no help when she is asked a question any answer is short and terse we have seen her before because we have stayed here a few times also please get rid of plastic hand held shower heads

The Garland Hotel in New Concord is my new go-to as a half-way stop between NJ and IL! I loved the cleanliness, service, decor -- everything! The staff even graciously allowed me to check in early when I arrived before 3:00 -- a great comfort in an area where there's no nearby shopping or dining. I'm actually looking forward to my return trip next week and the promise of a good night's sleep in a lovely hotel. I'll just make sure I bring food with me : )

Newer built hotel located off the freeway exit. Outside of a Sheetz gas station and a Wendy's the area around the hotel is very remote. Great staff at check in! Common areas and guest rooms very clean. HVAC worked well. Rooms facing the freeway do get some noise entering the roof-keep your HVAC fan turned ON vs AUTO and the white noise will mask any exterior noise. Free breakfast in the morning with basic items like eggs, bacon, yogurt, pasteries, juices and coffee.

Our room is clean & spacious. It’s a quick hop off of the highway. There aren’t any restaurants by the hotel but several options an easy & quick 5 miles down the road. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here to go to The Wilds. It was such a pleasant surprise! New, very nice facility, minutes to 70, near a route to take to the Wilds, pleasant helpful staff. Will definitely stay there again when we need a room in the area!

The location was right off of the interstate so it was really easy to get to. The decor on the inside is trendy and well done. The pool and hot tub were not open while we were there but that wasn't a deal breaker for us. But if you want a pool you may want to call before you go to see if it is opened. The fitness gym is small but good quality machines. We didn't eat breakfast there so I can't comment on that. The only issue we had was the carpets were very stained all over the hotel. The bed, bathroom and everything else was immaculate so I am not quite sure why they haven't addressed the carpet situation. The shower was fantastic! Best we have ever had in a hotel. We will stay here again. But the carpets need to be cleaned or replaced.

We stayed here the night before visiting "The Wilds" nature reserve. We were pleasantly surprised that such a beautiful hotel was kind of in the middle of nowhere. It was only a 25 minute drive to The Wilds. The hotel was fabulous, with a huge room with even a little kitchenette. The decor in the lobby was gorgeous and the hot breakfadt was one of the best Ive ever had at a hotel. And I've stayed in 100s of hotels. Would definitely recommend

Pros: modern decor. Convenient location. A lot of space in our 1 bed room 2 queen bed. Fair price for the quality of the hotel. Rooms were clean. Cons: towels were small and worn out /torn. Shower head was located too high on the wall and could not adjust the direction of the water spray. Hall way floors are stained. Breakfast was poor. Premade Scrambled eggs and pancakes were overcooked. Overall would give 3.5.

The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. It’s so rare that I find a room that is that clean in any hotels so this was a treat. I love that the toilet was had a semi-privacy wall from the sink and shower. I forgot to take pictures of the bed, but there were ample pillows and a soft duvet. Breakfast offered hot and cold options, juice, coffee, and lemon water.

Beautiful and clean. The room we were in was brand new and I’m not even sure anyone else has ever stayed in it. It was larger than most hotel rooms. The breakfast area was pristine. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Every thing was awesome except for breakfast. The sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage gray, and potatoes were cold! Not only us but many other patrons threw their breakfast away. There was no microwave for you to warm food up. Such a shame to see so much food wasted.

Good for the price. Breakfast foods were cold. Hallway carpets could be scrubbed. Room clean though. For some reason hairdryer handle was sticky.

Hotel was great to start. What wasn't great... 1am, fire alarm goes off when we have to be up at 7 am for a competition. The entire hotel is evacuated for what the front desk described as "a malfunctioning shower head". We all march back upstairs and go back to sleep. 3am, another fire alarm. We all get back out. Our entire night sleep was ruined, and the hotel refused any sort of compensation. I would avoid going here if you actually enjoy being able to get a restful night sleep. The front desk said that this decision was 100% on management. I would find ANY place other than here.

the Staff, wonderful the rooms, fabulous the beds, very comfortable only thing I would add is the carpet squares in and around the elevator should be replaced. I have made this my go to Hotel when I stay in the area!!!
