It was a cute little motel; only 5 rooms but our room was clean and (mostly) quiet. The walls are a little thin so if you want absolute privacy it might not be too your taste, but it was fine for our needs- sleep after an evening dinner/ bridal shower. There is no staff to speak of, only a check in girl that also works at the ice cream shop directly in front of the motel. And you need to look for the shop because the signage for the motel is not large and was hidden a bit behind tree branches- we must have passed it 5 times before we knew what to look for after getting some directions. We would stay there again if we are invited back to the area.

We liked the layout of the suite and how spacious it was. It was a very comfortable, pleasant stay. Appreciated how lovely the grounds were lanscaped and decorated. Definitely would recommend the place to others and would like to return again sometime.

The grounds are well kept and it is easy to get around. Most of the room had been updated. The bath tub was peeling but the rest of the room was nice. The heat works great on those chilling nights.

We like Oakes Oramel inn because it is clean and comfortable; easy to park and price is great. Although some updating could be done, it is neatly maintained.

Absolutely loved the quaintness of the place. Attached to a joyous snack shack and ice cream place. Such a treat! Rooms were great and made it just before check in ended. Lovely people. Completely unexpected and delightful. Many chain motels could learn a lot from this place!

I loved my room really nice comfortable bed parked right in front. Enjoyed sitting outside my room as the sun went down. There's a little ice cream place next door. With a few options for snacks and sandwiches. I went straight for the turtle sundae yummy

We were very pleased. We were arriving later than posted office hours and they were very accommodating. The room was clean, beds comfortable and we even had a microwave and refrigerator, in addition to the coffee maker. We didn't require a fancy room with couches, desks, etc., just a clean, comfortable place to sleep and relax a bit. Although small, Oakes Oramel Inn was nicer than some bigger places we've stay in (TV was bigger than some, too😁) I hope to use them again in the future. Courtyard area was nicely landscaped, attractive and maintained well.

Very clean and great beds! This motel is a small, privately owned business and the owner has been very accommodating to our needs. Some things could be freshened up but it is clean and comfortable and just what we need when traveling.

Check-in was easy. Everything else was atrocious. The bad smell of the room hit me as soon as I walked in. The room was extremely small. The bathroom was nasty especially the tub and shower curtain. The floor felt gross walking on it (like it haven’t been clean in months. The tv would not turned on once I found the remote. You think as a day-inn or whatever that was they’d have WiFi (nooo) I had no signal whatsoever, just terrible. The little amenities that were in the bathroom were half empty, the bed and the pillow were stain and smell bad. I felt gross out just being there. I booked a stay for 2 nights but after seeing the atrocity I left the next day!

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We were in the area so we could hike on the Finger Lakes Trail and the location was very convenient. Our room could not have been cleaner. The bed was super comfortable. We arrived in the evening and had good instructions of how to enter the room. I would absolutely stay again.

Very dirty and smelled like mildew.. Stained sheets, hair and dust everywhere. I hate that I paid the price I paid and the beautiful inn down the road was cheaper and closer to the park. Which is a shame because the place has great potential. Staff was nice and ice cream next door was amazing.

Shower was old and inoperable with tub paint peeling everywhere. Otherwise cleanliness seemed OK. Obviously not well maintained rooms. We just stayed for as little time as we could and left early in the morning. We will never stay here again.

It was very disconcerting to find no staff there to check in. While a phone call straightened everything out, a heads up that this might be the case would have made it less stressful. A piece of Styrofoam was used to fill a gap next to the AC unit and it was too small and left quite a gap. It was a chilly night so I had to plug the gap with tissue. Amenities were good and room was clean.

This was such a nice place,very clean and quiet. I enjoyed that it was close to Houghton college which made it that much better to stay at after such a long drive.

Cute updated room. It was clean and inviting. I called ahead to ask about an early check-in due to time of the wedding and they were accommodating. We were there for a wedding in the area so didn't visit long, but would stay there again in the future.

There was no staff available at the property. I had to call and the person told me couple of times that there was no booking with my name. I insisted that I booked through Expedia and I have the confirmation number and at last she was able to find my name. Bad experience to start with. The room was tiny. Almost no space after putting two double beds. The bathtub was very old and paint came off at many places. The beds were too soft for our liking. Things were clean though. There is almost nothing around the surrounding area but that was not a problem for us. We didn't like the place and stayed only one night although I booked and paid for two nights. I won't go back there.

Room renovated and very clean. Breakfast bags was a great touch. Host was quick to response via messages to any of our concerns. However, mattress and pillows were not comfortable at all. Pillows too flat, mattress aging in the middle. Probably too old.

The room was clean and smelled fresh. The bed was comfortable. The shower felt great but the knob to switch from tub to shower was difficult to move. The hotel provided shampoo, condition, bar soaps and lotion which I appreciated. There was also a hair dryer provided which is a great extra feature. Our problem was phone/internet service. The hoti did not provide a wifi password. They seem to have 2G service instead of standard 4 or 5G. The television was difficult to use and VERY slow at channel selection if you can get to that option. We would choose not to stay there again because of the internet issues. We only had the option of text. Any phone calls that came in were unable to be heard by us or the other party.

We booked a night to get off the road during a snowstorm. The driveway had not been plowed and we drove past the Inn because we couldn't see the driveway entrance. We turned around and when we got out, there was no one there. The door to the office was locked and the lights were out. We called to cancel and even the rep from Hotels.com couldn't get the owner to answer the phone. No refund. I have no pictures to upload or comments about anything else because we never got a room.

Room renovated and very clean. Breakfast bags was a great touch. Host was quick to response via messages to any of our concerns. However, mattress and pillows were not comfortable at all. Pillows too flat, mattress aging in the middle. Probably too old.

It was very disconcerting to find no staff there to check in. While a phone call straightened everything out, a heads up that this might be the case would have made it less stressful. A piece of Styrofoam was used to fill a gap next to the AC unit and it was too small and left quite a gap. It was a chilly night so I had to plug the gap with tissue. Amenities were good and room was clean.

We were very pleased. We were arriving later than posted office hours and they were very accommodating. The room was clean, beds comfortable and we even had a microwave and refrigerator, in addition to the coffee maker. We didn't require a fancy room with couches, desks, etc., just a clean, comfortable place to sleep and relax a bit. Although small, Oakes Oramel Inn was nicer than some bigger places we've stay in (TV was bigger than some, too😁) I hope to use them again in the future. Courtyard area was nicely landscaped, attractive and maintained well.

Cute updated room. It was clean and inviting. I called ahead to ask about an early check-in due to time of the wedding and they were accommodating. We were there for a wedding in the area so didn't visit long, but would stay there again in the future.

There was no staff available at the property. I had to call and the person told me couple of times that there was no booking with my name. I insisted that I booked through Expedia and I have the confirmation number and at last she was able to find my name. Bad experience to start with. The room was tiny. Almost no space after putting two double beds. The bathtub was very old and paint came off at many places. The beds were too soft for our liking. Things were clean though. There is almost nothing around the surrounding area but that was not a problem for us. We didn't like the place and stayed only one night although I booked and paid for two nights. I won't go back there.

I will miss this place very much.My daughter was attending Houghton University and this was such a a nice place to stay close by the college to get her and bring her home on holidays.I always got good service here and communication was excellent.The room was always clean and the bed was always comfortable.I felt like I was at home.I highly recommend this place to anyone you won't be disappointed at this Gem.

Very nice lady that ran the hotel! Great price and clean room. Shower needs to be painted. It would be nice if rooms had irons and more counter space. Very convenient location to the college we were visiting! Comfortable beds and nice outside decor. Overall a nice experience! Will recommend to friends!

Convenient to Houghton University. Clean. Bed somewhat uncomfortable. Not 5 star by any means but safe and servicable. We've stayed here a few times now and meets our needs.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We were in the area so we could hike on the Finger Lakes Trail and the location was very convenient. Our room could not have been cleaner. The bed was super comfortable. We arrived in the evening and had good instructions of how to enter the room. I would absolutely stay again.

This was such a nice place,very clean and quiet. I enjoyed that it was close to Houghton college which made it that much better to stay at after such a long drive.

We have a thing for staying in tiny motels off the beaten path, so the Oakes Oramel Inn was perfect for us when we visited the area! The accommodations were quite pleasant with some fresh updates. Our room was well-appointed and included a microwave, mini fridge, table and chairs, large dresser with mirror, queen bed, and nightstand. A basket of complimentary snacks and bottled water awaited us on our table upon arrival. Towels were refreshed daily, and the shower was hot (with great water pressure, too). Checkin and checkout were completely painless. Twas a perfectly enjoyable stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone passing through!

It was a cute little motel; only 5 rooms but our room was clean and (mostly) quiet. The walls are a little thin so if you want absolute privacy it might not be too your taste, but it was fine for our needs- sleep after an evening dinner/ bridal shower. There is no staff to speak of, only a check in girl that also works at the ice cream shop directly in front of the motel. And you need to look for the shop because the signage for the motel is not large and was hidden a bit behind tree branches- we must have passed it 5 times before we knew what to look for after getting some directions. We would stay there again if we are invited back to the area.

Absolutely loved the quaintness of the place. Attached to a joyous snack shack and ice cream place. Such a treat! Rooms were great and made it just before check in ended. Lovely people. Completely unexpected and delightful. Many chain motels could learn a lot from this place!

I loved my room really nice comfortable bed parked right in front. Enjoyed sitting outside my room as the sun went down. There's a little ice cream place next door. With a few options for snacks and sandwiches. I went straight for the turtle sundae yummy

i was able to check in 5 hours before time. we pulled up and was a bit shocked at how small the place was. i have been in hundreds of hotels and this was by far THE BEST. when you get to the room , there were goody bags for each guest full of snacks and beverages. place was very clean and just comfortable.

Fitted sheets were dirty and didn’t fit the mattress. There is no staff on site at 8pm so I had to call and go search for the room key to get into the room. The window air conditioner unit wasn’t very cold and was behind curtains. It was not a well lit room. The white paint was chipping off the tub that had been yellow. BUT it was a cleaner tub than most major hotels.

The worst motel experience I've ever had. When we arrived, their computer system wasn't working, so they told us to leave and said they'd call when it was fixed. A couple of hours later, they called with a room number and took my credit card information. About an hour after that, they called back and said they no longer had a room because Expedia had overbooked them. That wasn't true. The real issue was that the people in our assigned room refused to leave, all the other rooms were occupied, and instead of dealing with the situation, they blamed Expedia. The motel could have contacted the police to remove guests who refused to check out, but instead they left us without the room we had reserved. Since this motel is in the middle of nowhere, we were stuck scrambling to find another place to stay. We're now waiting for Expedia to process our refund. To top it off, I asked if they'd consider offering us a complimentary stay in the future to make up for a problem that was entirely their fault. Their response was, "No, thank you. Have a blessed day." "Have a blessed day"? Seriously? There was no apology, no attempt to make things right, and no concern for the inconvenience they caused us. This was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I would not recommend staying here.

NIce, clean room, comfortable bed and a hot shower.. Manage your expectations. This isn't The Hilton. Staff was very nice. Window AC units worked amazing! Shower was hot. *Note Bring your own soap as the supplied soap is the size of a half-dollar. Room was quiet. Bed was freshly made. Free WiFi was great as cell service is limited.
