Dunollie Hotel ‘A Bespoke Hotel’

A large storm caused a power outage while there. While waiting in the lobby, staff brought complimentary sandwiches and soups. Room was very clean and good size. Shower water pressure was not great. The full hot breakfast was excellent. There just wasn’t enough parking for everyone.

Nice little hotel located right on the water, it was clean and run efficiently, and a buffet breakfast is included for all guests....however, parking is horrible. They have a large parking lot that is reserved for bus tours, and another small parking lot for other guests that is literally a nightmare to park in. We ended up using public parking about an eighth of a mile down the road, which is rather inconvenient for unloading and loading luggage. Again, we have no other complaints, but, they seriously need to give thought to the parking situation.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a nice property, but needs some updating and care. Parking was kind of a pain, but the location was really nice. The breakfast was fantastic and the view out over the water was great.

No parking for people in cars. About 15 cars were parked and three coaches. Staff did not tell us where else we could park We finally parked at the local co op food store. There was no elevator and lots of stairs to climb. No one helped to carry luggage. I am 81 years old and fairly fit but even so no one even asked if I needed help

Overall the hotel was great but if you are driving the parking situation is not the greatest. There is space for 15 cars at the bottom of a ramp beside the hotel. There are no lifts here so if you are challenged with stairs and carrying luggage opt for a room on the 1st floor

Room was clean and comfortable. Parking situation is very challenging and the hotel management should have a better solution and communicate better in advance.

Rooms were very cold and smelled very damp. The window was broken and could not close properly. The room was so dirty, there was hair everywhere that was not ours and there was so much dust. The hot water boiler was not emptied and cleaned out properly from the previous guests. The dinner was overpriced and not good as well.

The rooms we received were in the basement, where the hallway rug was wet for the entire time we were there. Inside our rooms, door knobs were missing, floors had not been vacuumed or swept and hair and scraps of bathroom tissue were on the bathroom floor from the previous visitors. Even when we asked staff to clean this up, it was not completed. Towels were not changed when asked for them - instead we were given a black garbage bag to put them in ourselves. Beds were not made even though we asked for room service. The only thing decent about this hotel was that the food.

The hotel is filthy and noisy. Needs a re-furb. No hot water in the morning

The room was cold, damp, and not clean. Definitely not as advertised on line!! When we asked to be moved, we got a room with 2twin beds, small room again, definitely NOT worth the price of the room!!

This is nice property. It sesms the rooms have been recently renovated. Very clean room and bathrooms. USB in each room.the only inconvenince was limited parking.

The staff were friendly. The food was good. The shower was awesome. We had a room with a view which was lovely. Rooms were a bit small but overall a lovely visit.

Dated and worn property. Room was clean but cramped and just very drab. Fine as a place to sleep for a night before moving on.

Great view over the water. Definitely upgrade to a sea view room. Restaurant has a great view, order something simple so you won't be disappointed.

Good hotel. No A/C in the summer but the window opened a crack and it cooled down eventually. Good bed! Nice room.

small rooms

This hotel was in a convenient location for a visit to Isle of Skye. We stayed one night. Room was a bit warm and since there are no screens we were uncomfortable leaving the window open since there were spiders on the outside of the window. Our room had a very undersized glass wall on the shower making it impossible to not end up getting the floor soaked when we used it. We were with another couple and both of our rooms had incredibly squeaky bathroom doors. The food in the dining room was just OK. If you can find dining elsewhere, we would recommend it. Not enough parking, had to park at public lot down the road but at least that was free.

The room was small and dated with a questionable carpet. The bathroom was clean and big which was truly the only reason I didn’t leave and sleep in my car. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were thin and also flat/hard. I may have been able to sleep out of pure exhaustion but I could hear the person in the neighboring room snoring, so no chance.

The bed was hard and small and the walls between the rooms very thin. The bathroom was good with an excellent shower. The reception staff welcome was basic. The bar man was rude implying I was being a nuisance and saying I could put the teabag and long life milk capsules on the saucer when I asked where I could put them. I was also amazed they couldn’t serve fresh milk in the hotel lounge. The hotel was soulless and used mainly for bus tour groups when we were staying.

The staff at the downstairs restaurant are horrific. Incredibly rude. Most other options in the area asked for a reservation so the second night we ate at the bar and it was much better. Hotel is water front and central to the little shops in the town. Quick breakfast cart next to it by little shops where they were very pleasant. Slightly dated and little parking. It was a last minute booking as the first fell through. Not too far from some of the site seeing locations if you have a car or book a tour.

I don't normally leave bad reviews but this time I will. When we checked in the lady at the front desk was borderline rude. I had asked about parking and where to unload our luggage. The parking is very very limited, you park at a local car park down the street. She had told me to stay parked down the hill and she would open our room door so we could take our luggage around back and get in easier. We tugged our luggage over gravel to the door, she hadn't unlocked it. I had to go back around the building and ask again. I ended up walking to the room and let my family in myself. Lots of unnecessary walking. The room was clean and fine for our stay. We were supposed to have water view, and she even mentioned that when we checked in, but no water view and no other rooms available. The lobby area was just ok, dated and smelled like cigarettes. The next morning we found out why, the man at the front desk smoked in the doorway and was rude too. The bartender was great, friendliest person we met. We asked the man at the front desk if we could buy some of the postcards they had there for sale and he said not tonight. It was around 9:30 but he was just so rude. We bought them the next morning. I went to get our car, carried our luggage upstairs and made sure to let him know I would be back. He was so indifferent, shrugged and didn't say a word. Just so rude and I'm super friendly so I was confused. Overall our room was clean, it was convenient but the staff were just awful.

Extremely limited and unsafe parking. Parking on property is very limited and at the bottom of a steep gravel drive. You must park on the foot path in front of the uncovered hotel entrance to load and unload luggage. When we checked in at the front desk, I asked the way to the lift and was informed by the receptionist that the hotel did not have a lift. I advised that we had one person in our group on crutches. Receptionist responded by saying we should have mentioned this when we made reservations. The person fell in Edinburgh after we had made our reservations some months in advance. Our room was on the second floor so we had to drag heavy luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Only after watching us struggle to navigate the stairs did the receptionist offer any help with our luggage. Halfway up the last flight of stairs, he stopped to say, pretty good for a man of 70. This he said as I, a woman of 80! had just managed to get my large suitcase to the top of the last flight of stairs. After unloading the luggage for 4 people, we were finally able to find a parking spot at a petrol station and coop near the hotel. Oh yes, if you lose your room key and have to request a replacement, you will be given one without being told there is a 25 pound fee for the lost key. I gladly paid but did not find out about this charge until I received a call from the hotel while driving to our next destination some miles away.

Older property in town, but pleasant stay. Parking a challenge, but staff helped with suggestions. Staff was a real bonus during this stay.

Good location

Nice welcome at check in. Room very good all you need for an overnight stay. Good location next to shops and petrol station and a good walking area for our dog.

Very convenient location when on Skye. The room was clean. There are few restaurants nearby.

Property location is great and accesible. Free parking on site is a big help. Breakfast is quite nice and the view is decent. Staff is courteous and prompt. Overall a very comfortable stay.

A cheap, comfortable option for those on a budget. There was a Co-op next door to pick up some cheap eats/wine etc. Bar and food prices at the hotel were a bit steep I felt. No real criticisms of the hotel itself. And our ocean view from our room was one of the best hotel views we’ve had.

Booked a one night stay here and was pleasantly surprised at its location and quality of stay. Dinner here was excellent. Room was clean and very comfortable. View across the water was beautiful.

The hotel is well located, next to a gas station and a nice market. It has available parking. The service is not great. Breakfast is very basic, but that's across all Scotland. Late night personnel are a bit rude.

Excellent hotel with wonderful views. The staff are amazingly responsive and the food, both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Would fully recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay on Skye

We had accomodations in Inverness and we're planning a day at the Isle of Skye, but we realized we needed to stay there overnight. I was pleased that we were able to be accommodated on such short notice. The room was perfect, beds were comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. My only comments would be with the food. We had both dinner and breakfast and neither was really good. Dinner, my wife's fish and chips was great, but my salmon dinner was less than desirable. It seemed like the salmon was deep fried (no breading), the veggies were so over cooked they were almost baby food. The crushed potatoes seemed old and reheated. I sent I back for the fish and chips. Breakfast, scrambled eggs were watery, Sunnyside up eggs were rubber and the sausage had no flavor. I have had a much better breakfast at a Premier Inn. We noticed, after we had dinner, that there were many patrons from several tour busses. The "age group" was much older... That explained the mushy veggies and bland food. Great for an overnight, just don't eat there.

Staff were very offhand. The breakfast poor quality. Although good location, it definitely is not worth the £200 price point. Awful

After an overnight flight to Scotland I appreciated the warm room, good shower, and wonderful hot Full Scottish breakfast!
