When we pulled up to country inn& suites, I was quite dismayed by the lack of care to the outside of the property. When we entered the building to go to our room, the entryway was disgustingly, filthy and unkept. The carpeting was soiled and raggedy. When we entered our room, the stench was almost unbearable. We noticed that the sheets had greasy fingerprints and were dirty. We went back to the desk to ask for a different room. The desk lady was amazing and extremely apologetic and gave us another room. The moment we opened the door to the new room, I knew we would not be staying at this hotel. The smell was worse than the first room and one of the beds looked like somebody had slept in it and didn't know how to make the bed without leaving lumpy bumps all over it. We were referred to another hotel, the Baymont, and the smell situation was nearly identical. We chose to leave that property as well. I am very disappointed in the reviews on hotels.com for these hotels.

The hotel sets in an area that is not well lit and safety is a concern considering it sits off by itself by abandoned buildings. It is an older hotel that needs updated. But considering the low price of the room, that is to be expected. The breakfast was good. The lobby area of the hotel seemed to be clean. The bathroom and showers in the rooms are very old and the plastic tub and wall of the shower is stained yellow and moldy. We had a room with two queen beds and they are the hardest mattresses I’ve ever laid on in my life. It literally felt like I was sleeping on the floor. It definitely made you wake up about every hour all night long with your back and hips hurting. Staying here overnight is OK if you’re in a pinch, but you definitely don’t want to have to sleep like this two nights in a row.

Stay was just fine. Only thing is my cards didnt work when i got back to hotel. Nobody at desk. Fortunately housekeeping supervisor was handy to let me in. Other than that it was a good stay
