My rating reflects two very different experiences. As a self-service apartment, I would rate this property highly (around 8/10). The location is excellent, the space is clean, and the beds are comfortable. I deducted points for safety concerns, including a questionable handrail and ladder-style access to the loft. However, as a bed & breakfast—as described on Hotels.com—this property falls far short (closer to 2/10). At this price point, a B&B would reasonably include a staffed reception and on-site service. This property has neither and operates as a self-check-in apartment. Additionally, the listing states that a restaurant and buffet breakfast are available, but there is no restaurant or breakfast service on-site. The bedrooms are located on the third floor, accessible only via narrow, steep stairs, which made it impractical to bring luggage upstairs. We had to leave our bags on a lower level. Finally, the listing states that Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted, however payment was required in cash. This not only created inconvenience but also removed standard consumer protections associated with credit card transactions and resulted in additional fees. Importantly, this same property appears to be accurately described as a self-service apartment on other platforms, which suggests the issue is not the property itself but how it is presented on Hotels.com.
