What a little gem of a hotel even though the main bar and restaurant are under going a thatch refurb. Very friendly staff, even the kitchen staff came out and gave our dog a little taste of some cut up sausages. Our meal was excellent.

Nice, quaint inn. Very good breakfast. No elevator to upper floors and narrow stairs. Not close to the port. 40 euro taxi ride. Not in the city of Southampton. Staff was excellent.

Lovely hotel with quaint and big rooms, beautifully furnished with all you need for a comfortable stay. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we slept very well. Road was not noisy. Nice big bathroom with a large shower area.Our friends had a bath and shower. Good selection of complimentary teas/coffee/water as well as a coffee machine in rooms. Good choices on breakfast menu, continental/full English. We enjoyed our full Englishg. Good service from all the staff overall. Plenty of parking. Nice bar and large restaurant, which we did get to use that day. Will definitely be back one day.

We loved our stay. The staff were amazing and very accomodating to our needs. It was extremely hot & humid the few days we were there and the staff found an extra fan for us. The pub right opposite had delicious meals, breakfast was amazing. Onsite parking was a plus.

Lovely thatched pub opposite accommodation with a garden to sit in. Room was clean and plenty of room to walk about. Heard no noise from the pub even though it was close by. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would stay again if in the area. If you want dinner better book, it does get busy.

This property is amazing. Beautiful and clean with an amazing little pub on site. Rooms was spacious, bed was comfortable, shower was the best ever with rainfall option. Only draw back was the location is very residential with nothing within walking distance so if you need access to a store or different dining options you require a car. However I recommend eating on site. Breakfast is excellent so make sure to get the breakfast option with your booking

The staff was very helpful and friendly and the property grounds well maintained. We also liked that the facility was dog friendly although we didn't have one there. However the room didn't have a refrigerator, the window blinds were difficult to raise and lower, and the toilet difficult to flush. Be sure to visit the restaurant. The food was very good and, considering it was the only restaurant convenient to the hotel, reasonably priced. Breakfast was included in the room rate which was a welcome bonus I wasn't expecting. In all a good experience.

The Pilgrim Inn was fantastic. It was incredibly clean, the twin room was spacious with a beautiful bathroom. The shower was roomy with a powerful head and plenty of hot water. It was easy to book and when i needed to move the trip, it was very easy to do. We had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast the following morning had a great selection and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely visit again.

It was easy to book and when i needed to move the trip, it was very easy to do. We had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast the following morning had a great selection and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely visit again.

Nice room, but shower tiles grubby, stains on ceiling in bathroom and shower shamppo holder was very dirty. Chair in room was badly stained, light switches - some worked some didn't with intermittent flickering. Beautiful old floor standing mirror however the tilt would only stay at floor view so could only see from knees down unless was held or you knelt on the floor

Absolutely stunning room, let down badly by how dirty it was. The bedroom & bathroom floors has not been vacuumed before my arrival & the sides/skirting boards in the bathroom were stained & coverd in dust. I complained to the manager on day 7 of my 10 day stay about this & the fact there was no milk in the room again for a drink after comming back from work was something done. Basically the cleaners had just been making the bed every morning & nothing else.

Bedroom was not cleaned sufficiently well. The bathroom was not cleaned at all - bin was not emptied, dirty facecloth and towel I'd put on the shower floor were put back on the towel rail. The toilet flushing has not worked properly since I arrived and ultimately became blocked but wasn't cleaned or bleached to remove any waste. I informed the Manager and she offered an apology but nothing else. Very disappointing as The Pilgrim Inn is not a cheap stay, so I expected much better service.

Cannot fault our stay. The accommodation is separate to the main pub therefire we were not disturbed. Quaint thatched roof building. Room clean large and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was great. good location for our visit to Beaulieu. Highly recommended

Loved my double room, clean, tidy, spacious, with a comfy bed. Lovely bathroom with selection of products. Artisan coffee was beautiful with chocolates left. Close to road but was surprisingly quiet. Will be again as convenient with pub doing great food in a lovely cottagy feel environment. Just perfect x

Weekend at The Pilgrim as a base to visit Southampton, Christmas Market. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful and the room was a good size and spotless, breakfast was excellent with a good number of options available. Had an enjoyable stay and would recommend The Pilgrim as a place to stay close to Southampton.

Room was ok. There was mould in the bathroom We had a family above and we could here kids running around until 10pm at night. You walked across to the pub for breakfast and the doors were not open till 8am. We were the 2nd copule to arrive but they didnt take our order till after four others. 40min wait till breakfast come out. Breakfast pretty basic . Sauasge was cooked on the full english,toast was cold and hard

Parking was good. Didn't use the bar. Nowhere around to walk the dog. No pathways on the road. The shower ran hot and cold. Grouting in Shower cubicle needed cleaning, although it was a lovely large walk in shower. Toilet seat was loose! I booked 3 nights, only stayed for 2. Not what or where I expected.

Lovely place to stay, the only problem was the sloping roof in the bedroom, kept banging head. Also the room was not user friendly for ladies due to no dressing table with mirror.

Room was very comfortable and clean, a good size too. I noted other reviews had mentioned road noise but had windows shut as A/C was efficient and had a good nights sleep. TV wasn’t great after 9:00? Not sure if number of people watching in other rooms effected it as I presume it is ‘streamed’. Ate supper in pub which was excellent as was breakfast next morning. Would stay again.

Nice clean rooms and comfortable, only thing would be to have some kind of air conditioning in rooms for the hot weather, as with windows open a lot of traffic noise and fly's getting in to the room. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We stayed here in room 12 for the Beaulieu Supercar Weekend in early August. Our room was a little dark but not an issue. We struggled to get comfortable in the bed but maybe that was just us. The tea and coffee facilities were good but the coffee pods were unlabelled and so we didnt use them. The bathroom was excellent and the shower was outstanding. There is a lovely victorian style free standing bath but beware! The management have decided to secure all the soaps and shampoos to the wall near the sink and in the shower, which means once you are in the bath (no Bubble bath) you have no soaps! Meals across the way in the pub are pleasing but not outstanding, although the service staff in there were fantastic.

Fabulous location for exploring new forest. Although near main rd it was peaceful and beautiful room and super comfy bed. Thatch was being redone would love to return to see it in all its glory.

We have stayed here a few times now and it just gets better each time. Clean, friendly, welcoming and comfortable. We stay here before cruising from Southampton and it is very convenient to the port.

The Pilgrim Inn is a charming inn and pub combination in Marchwood that we used for our night before our cruise out of Southampton. We loved everything about it - the rooms were great, our dinner and breakfast were great. The Manager also went out of her way to help us get transportation to the cruise port for our family of 5 with luggage, which is not easy on cruise embarkation days. I would definitely stay at the Pilgrim Inn again if I'm in the area, and highly recommend it!

The Manager also went out of her way to help us get transportation to the cruise port for our family of 5 with luggage, which is not easy on cruise embarkation days. I would definitely stay at the Pilgrim Inn again if I'm in the area, and highly recommend it!

Room was ok. There was mould in the bathroom We had a family above and we could here kids running around until 10pm at night. You walked across to the pub for breakfast and the doors were not open till 8am. We were the 2nd copule to arrive but they didnt take our order till after four others. 40min wait till breakfast come out. Breakfast pretty basic . Sauasge was cooked on the full english,toast was cold and hard

The staff work the Inn and Restaurant. The Inn is very quaint and well appointed but challenging to find staff to help with questions. Lovely flowers and nice grounds. Busy streets so no walking for us. The Restaurant was empty upon our arrival for dinner and so one would expect dedicated service, staff more interested in talking to each other than delivering minor service. They were 3 feet from our table. We both had fish and chips. Bland greasy fish and fries. No service no tip. Breakfast we had the same waitress she was chatty and more accommodating. No refills offered for coffee. Small servings for English breakfast. Yes we did tip her! We read the reviews but our experience unfortunately we did not share that type of positive experience. We had no wheels and convenience was important. We would stay at the Inn but try another place for meals and do our homework.

I’ve stayed here several times over the years and it is always good. The rooms are beautiful, parking is easy and the staff are friendly. My room was a little airless and stuffy this time with no easy way to open the windows, but it is an old property. the breakfast is great - honestly one of the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. And I have had a lot. Highly recommended and great access for forest - alrthough you will need to drive.

Nice, quaint inn. Very good breakfast. No elevator to upper floors and narrow stairs. Not close to the port. 40 euro taxi ride. Not in the city of Southampton. Staff was excellent.

We have stayed here a few times now and it just gets better each time. Clean, friendly, welcoming and comfortable. We stay here before cruising from Southampton and it is very convenient to the port.

This property is amazing. Beautiful and clean with an amazing little pub on site. Rooms was spacious, bed was comfortable, shower was the best ever with rainfall option. Only draw back was the location is very residential with nothing within walking distance so if you need access to a store or different dining options you require a car. However I recommend eating on site. Breakfast is excellent so make sure to get the breakfast option with your booking

Fabulous location for exploring new forest. Although near main rd it was peaceful and beautiful room and super comfy bed. Thatch was being redone would love to return to see it in all its glory.

This is an absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel, in a prime location midway between The Southampton airport and the cruise terminal - about a 15-20 minute taxi ride from each. Our deluxe double room was just lovely - large, spotless, beautifully decorated, gorgeous bathroom. Decorated as nicely as I wish my home was! Very quiet (a small highway is close by, but you’d never know it), pleasant and helpful staff, and an extremely charming restaurant on the grounds. I can’t say enough about the restaurant - it’s clean, newly renovated, and oozing with the charm of a beamed-ceiling English country pub. The food and drinks were very good, the young waitstaff was professional, friendly, hardworking and efficient. Breakfast (wonderful - continental setup and choice of full hot breakfast was included with the price of our room). Our stay was a lovely treat at the start of our cruise - we wanted to arrive the prior day to avoid any disruption due to airline delays. I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!

Lovely hotel with quaint and big rooms, beautifully furnished with all you need for a comfortable stay. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we slept very well. Road was not noisy. Nice big bathroom with a large shower area.Our friends had a bath and shower. Good selection of complimentary teas/coffee/water as well as a coffee machine in rooms. Good choices on breakfast menu, continental/full English. We enjoyed our full Englishg. Good service from all the staff overall. Plenty of parking. Nice bar and large restaurant, which we did get to use that day. Will definitely be back one day.

This is in a good location for Southampton, the buildings are cleanish and the staff are OK. But eat elsewhere because the food is rubbish; at dinner most things were off and breakfast was no better. Dippy eggs, for instance, were hard boiled. The sausage, like much of last night's grub, was cremated. Did, they care? Haha, of course not

The room was lovely, large, clean and all facilities were as expected apart from the TV did not work. The engineer was supposed to be out to fix it but hadn't been by the morning. I took th Ariel out and tightened it then put it back in then it worked. All staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of drinks at the bar and high standard of food. Breakfast was perfect.

Although the hotel was good in many areas (cleanliness, appearance, parking, breakfast) a room at this price point should have air conditioning. My bedroom was only equipped with a low powered small fan, and with inadequate airflow from the window it remained no lower than 27c all night. I would also expect an EV destination charger at a hotel like the Pilgrim Inn.

Room lovely and cool - you could open the windows. Large room with coffee machine, water and biscuits. Good car parking. TV was not the best - could only view a couple of channels. Pillows were very soft and not to our liking , but this is personal preference. Overall a great stay.
