Absolutely incredible hotel. We are city people so it was nice not to be in the center of noise and business here. Traveling in August is a relentlessly hot time to be in the city, so having the benefit of a pool was really incredible. Al fresco dining by the river with waterfalls was peaceful and a great respite from the very busy city. The bathrooms and room were well equipped and oh how I wish I could replicate this bathroom. Just lovely. Bidet, jacuzzi tub, gorgeous marble. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. The property is rustic and beautiful with lots of nice outdoor space to stare at the river. Another benefit is a €2,50 shuttle to town. It doesn’t drop you in the center but a 15 minute walk across the river gets you to the action. A local bus a 12 min. Walk from the hotel is also a great option from the same shuttle drop area. Use google maps transportation to see the bus stops and navigate. Use your phone to tap and pay per ride. Note that you may only buy one ticket per credit card. The bar is impressive! These young barkeeps have a very impressive cocktail list and the ingredients they use for their Negronis are absolutely outstanding. Honestly should have an award. They make their own aromatics and kombucha. Our absolute favorite Negroni we’ve ever had. All and all a great stay. Would love to visit again!!

Beautiful property, helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed the spa, restaurant, bar and the parking garage was very helpful. Took their shuttle into the city for the day. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic hotel with great services. Utilized the pool, the laundry service, the lobby bar, the safe underground parking. Reception is great. They speak fantastic English and help guide you through your trip into the city of Florence if you’re driving.

Very insolated from the rest of the town, and the spa was not working when we were there

The property and staff were incredible! The only dislike was the drinks at the bar were VERY expensive. Otherwise a great experience, delicious food and fantastic staff. I sent the staff several questions before our arrival and they were very responsive. They also helped us set up an airport ride in the morning.

The features in the hotel which showed aspects of its past and the location by the river and weir were ideal. Lovely pool area with towels provided too. We had to wait a while to check in though as there was only one person on the desk and the couple in front had a problem which needed to be resolved.

Great staff, great restaurant, awesome spa experience, bit far from downtown but the 6 in/out shuttle service is amazing. For only 2euro

This hotel is situated on a beautiful plot of land next to the Arno river, with a picturesque courtyard, excellent amenities, and extremely professional and helpful staff. Getting here is a little tricky as it is a little out of the way, so it is probably easiest to take a taxi if arriving from the train station. The hotel does offer a shuttle service at times throughout the day that picks up and drops off about a 15-20 minute walk from the action of downtown Florence, which is easier than taking the bus. The restaurant, bar, and breakfast provided were all excellent. There is an "optional" service charge at the end of the stay, which seemed fair given how helpful the staff was in arranging transportation, spa service, and servicing the room. If you stay here, make sure to take advantage of the spa! We would definitely stay here again

Loved the space by the spa as it was easy to find a free sofa to read, relax and grab a glass of wine. The massage was excellent. Shuttle was very convenient. Marco our waiter at dinner was an A++++. He suggested many tips regarding the menu, wines, Florence. Our favorite person of the entire 2 week trip

Dirty would be an understatement. From black mold in a bathtub, their “best room” facing their decrepit back patio, their food dry, overcooked, homeless men bathing in the Arno in front of the pool, spa features only to accommodate 1 person at a time, this hotel is a scam. Their staff are not at all focused on hospitality. When asked to call a cab, they forgot, having us miss our cooking class. In attempts to rectify our already tarnished experience, we were “upgraded” to a larger room, without air conditioning, and expected to move our own luggage at 1AM. This was a terrible experience 0 stars.

Room was very clean and authentic Italian decor. The hotel is a renovated mill right in the river. Front staff so very helpful. The restaurant had incredible food. Best dessert I have ever had. Chocoltiamo a creation of the chef. Perfect textures and flavours of chocolate. Couldn’t have been happier with this choice of place to stay.

Very far from Florence. Bad food. Very humid in the room. Very helpful staff but poor hotel organization.

The property is very beautiful, the managers were nice and tried their best to be accommodating. Not all of the staff was nice, there was a strange smell in the bathroom of our original room, it took a lot of discussion and back and forth to change rooms. They gave us a new room after them letting us know that we really shouldn’t be in the new room because it was more expensive than the one we booked, but I explained that making an exception for the negative experience and mouldy/bad odour wasn’t our fault. They finally agreed. The second room was fine but after all the back and forth and the negative experience with a staff member who was rude to my friend, we decided to leave and book somewhere else. I asked for a refund and they declined, they also declined through Expedia, so I paid for another day we weren’t there despite letting them know very early the day before we’d be leaving.

Loved the location. Super clean and great staff ❤️would definitely come back to this gem of a hotel.

I can't say enough about this hotel. The rooms were beyond my expectation with marble deco in the bathroom, a balcony, air conditioning, and so clean. It was difficult to leave. The views from the hotel are spectacular. The pool is beautiful and the staff were so helpful. The courtyard environment with the tables and fountain are charming. I would definetely return.

Hotel bem antigo, mas bem bacana. O ruim foi o quarto, que estava com o sistema de ar condicionado quebrado. Tínhamos que ligar para a recepção para ligarem o ar. Só que ligávamos com o nosso próprio telefone, pois o telefone do quarto não funcionava também. Quarto bem pequeno. Fomos super bem atendidos, entretanto o hotel precisa de uma reforma estrutural.

The Mulino is a beautiful hotel in a lovely, quiet location on the river Arno. Our room was comfortable and clean, with tea and coffee making facilities. The staff were courteous and helpful (especially Marina on reception). We were a bit disappointed with the restaurant, as the evening menu is quite limited and did not change during the week we were there. Breakfast is very good, although there were few cooked options (except on request). There is only one other restaurant (rustic seafood style) within easy walking distance.

This is a lovely and peaceful hotel situated right on the Arno. We had a beautiful room with direct access to a large stone terrace. I could have spent all day just watching the ducks, cormorants and herons fish. Staff was friendly and responsive. Because it is not in Florence proper, this might not be a good choice for those who wish to have the city at their fingertips, although the hotel does provide limited shuttle service to central Florence.

We were doing a few places in Italy but this property was what I was looking most forward to based on the website and all the other reviews. But upon arrival one thing after another kept disappointing. Firstly, as a 4 star I expected more from the front desk/ concierge. They didn’t seem to know their area when we tried to rent a car or scooter. We had to find places on our own that they didn’t even realize existed. The property seems close to Florence downtown when you Google search it, but in actuality you need a vehicle. There is very little walking distance, no public transportation and most disappointing the shuttle is only 3x in the morning and evening (before dinner time) and fills up quickly leaving you stranded to get a taxi which is expensive for a relatively short ride. The restaurant on site also fills up and they don’t direct you well to alternative restaurants that you can easily get to. Our first night although we were told the bar closed at 11, we couldn’t get a drink because it closed early before 9 for no reason. We were celebrating an anniversary so I emailed the property before hand to confirm the bed size wasn’t too small for two. Unfortunately it ended up being two twin beds stuck together so we had a hard hump and gap in the middle between us. The room was so small that one person had to climb over the other in bed to get to the bathroom. The bathrooms were pretty nice but somehow when I took a shower after midnight there was only cold water! Ugh!

I was looking for a relaxing stay that was far enough from the city center but also still close enough to do some activities. Hotel Mulino was exactly that. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with any requests whether it be taxis, irons, wine recommendations, etc. I would definitely book again.

My husband and I stayed here at the end of our honeymoon trip and it was so calming and relaxing to stay here! The spa access was so nice. The food was great and the staff was super friendly and accommodating! When we left my husband forgot his wedding band in the room, but we had already gotten to the airport so when I called the staff went above and beyond to find his ring and when they did they sent a taxi to the airport to give it to us. Was beyond amazing of them to do that for us! We will defiantly stay here again in the future!

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast and service was excellent! Very helpful with taxi services and shuttle accomodations! We also needed guidance with transportation at the train station and staff provided all the useful tips which prepared us for our first train experience in Italy! I felt intimidated with the train travel planning but staff was very knowledgeable!

I was at first thrilled with the visuals, as the pictures on Expedia don't do it justice. But I booked a room for 2 adults with 2 beds. One bed was obviously very well used. The other one was impossible to sleep on. So don't pay these people for 2 beds no matter what you do. Then there was the non stop flow of mosquitos through the AC to eat us all night long. Then when I was told that it was no problem to NOT pay their self created gratuity of 100 euros, and chose not to. The girl with the orange hair at the front desk purposely made both of my credit cards get denied. When both cards had in excess of $10,000 credit on them. Presumably just to embarrass me. Then my daughter had to pay the $340 extra for meals and other money that was wasted on this place. Plus it's WAY far away from ANYTHING interesting. And the " Free Shuttle Service" that they offer was always mysteriously booked full. So anytime we wanted to get anywhere, we had to walk down an extremely narrow lane that was walled off on both sides 4 feet high, so if a car racing past happened to miscalculate the distance, then you would be at least seriously injured. Walk 20 minutes to a bus stop, and another 40 minuts on the bus. So add an hour of travel between the hotel and Florence both ways. Unless you have a car. I'm 58, and have never stayed anywhere so completely unacceptable! Stay AWAY!!

Beautiful place on the outskirts of the city.

It is about a 25-35 minute drive into Florence city centre. Very isolated with limited dining options nearby. There is a shuttle that drops you about 20 minutes walk into the city which was welcomed and only cost 1.50 euro per person. There was limited dining options at the restaurant with only the restaurant and in-room dining in the hotel. We were charged an ‘optional’ service fee for tips at the end of our stay on our bill. Doesn’t feel very optional when it is already added. I didn’t feel like we were serviced above and beyond but ended up paying an extra AUD$100 on top of our bill because of this service/tip ‘optional’ fee.

Beautiul property but 20 min by bus out of Florence. Great restaurants just down the road.

Such a cool property with incredible grounds. Staff is lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. We loved their little cocktail bar, especially their ~infused ice water~ and the drinks were creative and of quality. Wish we had more time in Florence, I could have sat by the pool for hours. Loved the bathroom, especially the bathtub/shower. The shuttle was lovely, clean, and convenient. Be sure to plan for some exploration time, as this twisty, funky, BEAUTIFUL property has so much to discover. We love Molino di Firenze!

Staff was certainly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was repetitive and unimaginative, therefore overpriced. Biggest downfall was the exclusion of the shuttle in to town,mentioned on the websites. They refused to take responsibility for that mistake which cost us significantly having to pay taxis every day. Still, the staff was pleasant and helpful.

Let me start with the positive. The staff is beyond amazing. They are so accommodating and friendly. The views are spectacular, the decor, the smell of flowers as you walk through the hallways leaves you breathless. The food is atrocious unfortunately. The spaghetti was the only item tasty. The pricing for the quality is O!! There are over 100 phenomenal places to dine in the city of Florence. You will love everything!!! On our last night, we were woken up itching uncontrollably as mosquitoes flooded our bedroom. Yes, we are on the river and understand, however when we approached the front desk at 3 am, we were provided 2 plug in repellents. When I mentioned it to the manager in the morning, we were told we should have received at check out. We never knew nor received. Your choice to stay.
